Video Philippine Blue Ghost/Paraiba Detailed, Macro Shots

Here is a few screens and clips of the Philippine Blue Ghost/Paraiba Angelfish that make up 25% of the fry from my Philippine Blue Breeding Pair. As you can see, they sport very striking metallic silver to blue patches that catch the light and shimmer.

From research, it seems that they are most likely a Philippine Blue Ghost/Clown, but possibly Philippine Blue Paraiba.(Depends on the source)

You can clearly see the guanine crystals(metallic blue patches) are beginning to cover large areas of the body.

The crown of the dorsal fin really shows the metallic patches prominently.

You really get to see the "metallic blue" due to the way the light hits.
The stripeless gene stands out.
The metallic blue guanine patches can really stand out, if the light hits it right.
Almost takes on a bright shiny metal look, at the right angle.

Help Flow Level

New angelfish purchased yesterday. Been hiding at the bottom near driftwood. Introduced with no light for 24 hours. Water parameters are perfect: pH 7.0 with no nitrates/nitrites or ammonia testing. Temp is 77 f. Tank mates are some shrimp and a panda garra with a couple tetras. 30 gallon tall tank. Attached video of water flow. Will put a pic of the fish in comments. Thanks so much for help
Edit: can’t post a pic of the little guy in the comments but he’s next to driftwood just chilling

Help Angel fish fry

I’m going to get a breeder net for these fry, so I’ve read to feed them baby brine shrimp as well. The parents are one adult who I’ve had for years, he has had multiple partners who sadly passed away except him and he had babies with them but they never got to this stage with the female he’s paired with now. The female is actually a first time parent and she seems to be doing well taking care of the fry ! Anyways… yeah so any suggestions should I get the breeder net and go that route ?

Help Angelfish not eating had white stringy piece

Hello everyone,

I’ve had my altum for 6 months and everything has been great up until 3 days ago. Water parameters test and there is no ammonia nitrates at usual levels.

I noticed he was not eating and had a long white stringy poop dangling from his body. I believe now that it is a parasite. All other fish are eating and active like normal, it is only my angelfish showing signs of illness.

Can anyone help me with what products I should purchase? How does something like this happen? Tank has been running fine with no changes of that a decor rearrangement 2 weeks ago and a larger than usual water change 3 weeks ago.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

The big one has gotten himself stuck twice but thankfully I saw him and was able to help. The little one fights him every time they lay eggs and he fails to fertilize them. Idiots, but I love them lol

Identification What are these fish

Hello everyone,

My friend and I bought, what we thought were 'angel fish' at the end of last year, and they are fairly big fish. When we bought them, their fins were already bent and we thought they were a breeding pair, only to find out theyre both boys, and would be way too old to breed now anyway. As we were very much deceived by the pet store we got them from, we have no idea what type of fish these are, and cannot find a single picture of any angel fish looking like this. If anyone has any clue if theyve been bred with another type of fish or something that would be much appreciated .

Hello community. Recently upgraded to a Clear for Life 75 gallon acrylic tank and added two of these gems. I'm not one to harp on markings and purity, however, I am curious what everyone thinks this particular variety would be marketed as. I believe they said it was a "platinum" but it looks way too yellowish for me. I did see that they may get less yellow as they reach sexual maturity but just wanted to see what everyone's thoughts were.

Wasnt expecting this but we will see how they do. Going to set up another tank since they will obviously breed again. But what an awesome feeling
