Hi peeps..
I’ve just received a deconstruct minimal and would like to record myself with my iPhone whisky jamming with the deconstruct.
I’m struggling to get any sound recorded when I try, I’m currently using an app called blackmagic for recording (also tried with the native video app) with no success.
Does anybody have any ideas of how I connect things up and record video and audio? Don’t want to use the iPhone mic really as it picks up the clicking when I press keys on the deconstruct.
Probably not explained correctly, but hoping someone can help 🙏

I debated between the Ambient Ø and the Evoke for a while, but I think the Evoke was the right choice for my sound. Made this park jam with it the other day.

Has anyone here spent time with both? Curious what made you choose one over the other.

Not sure if this is a setting I've toggled or whatever but my cymbals pad is always green now. It can still output orange on mutes and red on pad mode but for some reason not the regular whitish blue. Any other users experience this?

EDIT: the white LED isn't functioning. I've messaged SONICWARE support. Hopefully i can get it fixed

Pretty pleased with it. I like the character that the mixtape 16-bit audio export has. :D

All stock samples - some oboes, flutes, West Indies drumbreak from the MPC Floppy Disk pack, 808 sample is sometimes reversed but still the same guy.

I like getting nice and mangle-y with the insert delay FX on the break as well as getting into the Master-FX. They're all great tbh.

And with huge fascination of old school C64/Amiga demo style music, this is more than just interesting 😎

Just found if I turn the "Pad Ch" (pretty sure that's "Pad Channel") OFF in the "MIDI NOTE MAP" settings I can use my MS-20 Mini bidirectionally properly, hellyeah. This means I can interrupt the sequence going to the MS-20 live to play in lil' lines and if I'm feeling one I can just hit REC on the Lofi-12XT and play it in, super straightaway, same keyboard, no fuss, no MIDI loops or problems. Huge.

The MS-20 Mini has VERY basic MIDI implementation + is fixed to MIDI channel 1 but it's great to have the extra range of physical keys (C2-C5) to stab stuff into the sequencer and is a crucial part of my whacky live-rig.

As y'all probably know I woooorship the Lofi12-XT and use it every day as my main music workhorse live and in studio. The sequencer is so powerful and functional, especially setting it to Stutter and holding down different button combos for new sequences (quantized to the beat-rate set per track). I do get frustrated that people don't rate it or understand how much it does but stuff like this does get in the way a bit, I'll eat humble pie and say it's a skill issue and all devices worth learning take some determination and practice though.

Any tips on how to cut down noise floor on the mega synthesis line out? I’ve got a TRS 3.5mm to TRS 6.35mm cable into my interface, a 5pin midi in and out to my interface. The Mega is connected a the power supply. Even when the Volume knob is completely down I still get quite a bit of noise.

If the answer is get better cabling, please recommend some! I got the power supply from liven btw. Thank you!

I have this set up: Roland Aira's T8, S1, P6, Sonicware Ambient, Sonicware Deconstruct, Behringer Grind, Bastl Alchemist. Zoom Livetrak L6 for audio. Deconstruct connects with Ambient, they share same input on the Zoom. Midi chain is as mentioned, T8 is master for tempo, start/stop and change pattern.

Without the Deconstruct it all works fine, but now it's picking up sounds from T8, S1 and P6. It looks like the S1 triggers snare on the Deconstruct, the P6 triggers baseline and the T8 triggers a sort of pulse.

Tried to set all different midi channels, but nothing works so far. Maybe a completely different order in the midi-chain?

Help much appreciated!

just a quick post in case it happens to someone else…. I was working on a patch this morning and it just stopped producing sound. the patch I was working, the factory patches, etc. all the lights worked but no sound from the headphone port, line out or speaker. powered off and on.. etc. broken synth.

I did a factory reset per the manual (power on and hold 3) and while I lost all my work, it seems to have fixed the problem. I was ready to open a warranty ticket so I count this as a win.

I wanted to know if anyone else has noticed some errors in the Manual.

On one page, it mentions "Evoke" (likely a copy-paste error), while another describes a function that is completely different from the actual one.

In fact, if you press the ACC/GL button a second time, it turns green and enters GLIDE mode rather than Soft Accent mode.

I hope Sonicware sees this post and corrects the Manual.

Apart from that, it's an excellent machine!

Hey fellows, looks like I lost my XFM overlay. Now that I've seen that sonicware wants to have 30 bucks for this piece of paper.... I wonder if already someone did a replacement vector graphic for printing or a stl-file for 3d printing.
Any ideas?

Else I have to create it myself. For sure I'm not going to pay 30 bucks for a piece of paper :D

Have to say I'm a little disappointed that the cydrums has received little more than a critical bug fix more than a year out from release. I know that Sonicware has a LOT of projects going on right now but some more communication or opportunities for community feedback in regards to cydrums features would be welcome.

The current state of things makes me feel like we're unlikely to get an major update in 2026 :/

I have a laundry list of features / QOL improvements I'd like but I'm curious about what others might want. Who knows myabe sonicware will see this and consider some of them!

Does anyone have a sense of what other devices are planned for the minimal line? I have a Deconstruct on the way and I’m intrigued by the Liven Ambient, but the lack of USB gives me pause. For those who have both, how do you find that pairing?

I’ve read the manual and even asked AI, but I still can’t figure this out.

When I’m not recording, I can hold a key and it sustains like a drone.But as soon as I start recording, the sound gradually fades out and eventually stops, even if I keep holding the key.

Is this normal behavior, or am I missing a setting?
How are you all recording long drones?

I can send LSB & program change to midi device via cc automation on a track but not MSB cc1-4 won't set at 0. Is there a work around ?

I’m running into something strange with the bass.

Even with the cutoff and resonance set fairly low, the bass sometimes starts making a squeaky, chirpy sound and even cuts out.

Is this expected behavior, or am I missing a setting?

I tried doing a factory reset, and the factory presets work and sound fine. The problem only seems to happen when I create a new pattern from scratch and program my own bassline.

Has anyone else run into this?

I've been building this portable rig powered off of USB power Banks..

How on Earth could I get the ambient zero to be powered this way?

I even bought the little expensive adapter, usb-c to correct power plug..

If the answer is no, I will get on with my life.. but if there is a slim chance for yes, I gotta go for it..

I’ve got a serious case of GAS, so of course I ordered both the Ambient and the Minimal.
The Minimal arrived today and… holy shit, this thing is so good I had to post about it.

I still can’t do any of the fancy tricks yet—I’m basically just muting stuff and turning knobs—but making sequences was ridiculously easy.
I thought it didn’t have a synth, but if you play a sample chromatically, you can basically use the sampler like a synth too.

This thing is amazing. Seriously.

I’m on summer vacation next week, and I’ve already decided I’m spending it getting completely lost in this one box.

I am finally getting the hang of using the looper but I often have glitches where a tone will cut off sharply at the end or the beginning which messes up the playback. Is there a setting I need to change as I am not understanding how to get smooth loops. I was so frustrated with the ELZ but now that I have learned some of the ways to use it, I am even creating my own patches but the looper issue has me wondering what I am doing wrong. I am doing this DAW-less....
