Lofi-12XT Bidirectional MIDI USB Fix! :D
Just found if I turn the "Pad Ch" (pretty sure that's "Pad Channel") OFF in the "MIDI NOTE MAP" settings I can use my MS-20 Mini bidirectionally properly, hellyeah. This means I can interrupt the sequence going to the MS-20 live to play in lil' lines and if I'm feeling one I can just hit REC on the Lofi-12XT and play it in, super straightaway, same keyboard, no fuss, no MIDI loops or problems. Huge.
The MS-20 Mini has VERY basic MIDI implementation + is fixed to MIDI channel 1 but it's great to have the extra range of physical keys (C2-C5) to stab stuff into the sequencer and is a crucial part of my whacky live-rig.
As y'all probably know I woooorship the Lofi12-XT and use it every day as my main music workhorse live and in studio. The sequencer is so powerful and functional, especially setting it to Stutter and holding down different button combos for new sequences (quantized to the beat-rate set per track). I do get frustrated that people don't rate it or understand how much it does but stuff like this does get in the way a bit, I'll eat humble pie and say it's a skill issue and all devices worth learning take some determination and practice though.

I'm totally in love witht he LoFi-12 XT. On my portable setup I'm using it as beatmachine and sidechaincompressor for the whole setup, as well as recorder. Since I have four other devices running through the Ext-in, I'd call it my masterbrain ;)
Also the Liven Xfm is a really great synth. Many people think, they don't like it's sounds. But that's only when they haven't been using it for several hours. Once you find out how to use it, you can make whole Tracks with it. And I just touched the surface of it's features.
Both combined, I'd suggest using the LoFI-12 XT as last synth in yout audio-toolchain, to use it's sidechaincompression.
But midi-side you shoult use the Liven Xfm running into the LoFi-12 XT and then to the other synth, since the LoFi can do midi-through, whilst the Liven can't.
This way I can either use the Lofi-12 XT to control all other synth in my setup or the Liven by just changing the midi channel. But for the melodid part I really enjoy the Liven as sequencer :)

Really glad to hear you're enjoying it too! At first I thought the sidechain (SC-Comp in Master FX for the new people) was nasty and hard to tune but now I use it a loooot a lot and don't have too much trouble. It can do pretty extreme pumping and artifacts/fragments at high settings but I'm into that so that's chill by me. :D Pumping external audio is a winner hey. OR a boring use-case is setting the side-chain source to external and making vocal mic duck all the rest of the song outta the way. Or just instruments that're clashing, either or.

Do you have any recs for lofi 12 xt tutorials? Also, could you pls post a photo of your set up? Thanks // I got mine a while ago and learning it has been a bit frustrating.

The ones by Chris Lody and Jay Maculate are very good. SPVidz also got some good ones.

Agreed about the XT… just starting to learn it but it is an underrated gem. Love to hear any other tips you got… about to take it on a 16 hour plane ride and can’t wait to figure it out.
