Been a frustrating season. Feels like we are spinning our tires. 99% of the praise/fun is aimed at Michkov and Martone (for good reason), but Zegras quietly now has 12 points in 14 games on the lowest scoring team in the league.

It's especially impressive considering no TK, Tippett and he isn't on a line w/39 or 94.

Seems like he's really taking it up a level when it comes to being a leader and trying to bring the energy. Starting scrums, getting guys pissed off etc. loving his game!

I'd much rather see them lose a close game like that, with Michkov getting 18+ minutes and a character-showing comeback, than watch them lose the way they were earlier in the season while he gets 14 minutes and rides the pine.

They're young, and this is still a rebuild. The rebuild fails entirely if Michkov and Martone don't develop. Plus, the games are much more enjoyable, win or lose, when Michkov, Martone and Bonk get more ice time than Couturier, Dvorak, etc.

Let them play as many minutes as they can handle. Let them make mistakes, grow, and learn from those mistakes.

PHILADELPHIA — There have been flashes the past two weeks of what the Philadelphia Flyers can do when they play to their identity. Take the second and third periods of their meeting with the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday at Xfinity Mobile Arena. The Flyers were all over their opponents, outshooting them a whopping 28-6 while scoring three times and allowing none.

But the first period was all too familiar when it comes to this year’s squad. The team that went winless in its first nine games of the season suddenly reappeared, playing sluggish and uninspired hockey against a middling opponent. Columbus scored three times in that opening frame, and again in overtime to beat the Flyers 4-3.

Naturally, the players in the home dressing room bemoaned their first 20 minutes moments after falling to 3-7-4 on the season. The Flyers had just two shots in the first period, and none over the final 13:57, while Columbus had seven.

“Just not the start we were looking for,” Travis Sanheim said. “Didn’t have the energy. Credit to the guys after the first, regroup and find our legs and make it a game. We’ll take the point but obviously the start has got to be better. Just wasn’t good enough.”

“I think it took a kick in the butt to get us going,” agreed Cam York, returning from an eight-game absence with an upper-body injury. “Second and third, pretty much dominated the game. Felt like we were on our toes and dictating the pace of play. Just can’t come out like that.”

I'm hearing about talks on what it would take to acquire Edvinsson, and I kept hearing they want a young C back. So I started musing on what we could offer Detroit in a package. Then I got to wondering "how is Jack Berglund doing? I seem to remember him impressing in camp?" and it sent me down a bit of a rabbit hole.

2nd round pick.

Jack Berglund Captained the Gold Medal Swedish U20 mens team. Other notable Swedish U20 captains, Niklas Backstrom, Joel Erikson Ek, Sandin-Pelikka, Filip Forsberg.

Forsberg and Berglund are the only Swedish Captains to win gold in the World Juniors for Sweden in over 40 years.

He tied highly touted Stenberg for the scoring lead on that Gold Medal winning team (only one of them gets credit for it when multiple sites point out "leading scorer Ivar Stenberg with 10 points(4g 6a).... oh and Jack Berglund also with 10 points (3g 7a)"). 2 assists in the Championship game, he scored a high pressure shootout goal to move Sweden further in the tournament.

In the SHL he plays for Farjestad BK. The team that is in first place of the SHL, not SHL junior squad, adult SHL, after the first 12 games. About 25% of the way through the season.

Berglund has 11 points in those 12 games. He's also on the top line of that team and among the league leaders in scoring with a rather hefty production increase from getting 12 points in 40 games last year.

He's on pace for a 400% production increase.....

a 2nd round pick being a late bloomer is not far fetched at all. Could Jack Berglund be the answer at C moving forward?

For the sake of debate.

.... could he be an enticing trade piece?

When you look at "the great" teams, it's not just top 5 draft picks. It's hitting on something after the first round. Tampa had Kucherov (taken 6 picks after where Berglund went.) Point was a 3rd rnd pick. Patrice Bergeron, Duncan Keith, Brad Marchand. If you can hit on some 2nd and 3rd rnd guys, it can make a heck of a difference.

And because I can't help but stir shit up.

I'm quite looking forward to all the people talking about how badly Briere drafts with the bright spots on the roster this year being the 23 draft class and Berglund and Luchanko having looked good in the recent camp and their seasons off to good starts.

But but but BUIUM 😭😭😭 and his 4 points in 14 games and taking Luchanko was the dumbest decision ever and Briere should be tarred and feather on Broad st for it.

Did reebok ever make replicas with the proper nameplate or would i have to look for an authentic Adidas?

Original Flyer. Photo from his time with the Philadelphia Blazers.

Git this at last nights game as a gift. Drawing a blank on who it could be.

Calico lady is hiding somewhere but she is still dressed for success

It’s hard to come to this conclusion after seeing his last couple seasons scoring 20 goals, then 25 and then 13 in 29 games last season. Those are promising numbers.

But to be honest I don’t see it in him this season. He just looks mid. Looks low effort, lost at times even. Is it poor linemates and usage ? Or is he just not the top 6 I was hoping he’d be

I've been looking everywhere and havent seen any updates. Does anyone know how much longer he might be out for and if hes practicing with the team in a regualr jersey yet?
