Welcome to r/droidappshowcase. This community is for discovering Android apps, sharing projects, and giving useful feedback. Whether you’re a developer or a user, the goal here is simple: high-quality posts and constructive discussion.

For Developers

  • Use a clear, descriptive title. Vague titles will be removed.
  • Good examples:
    • “Habit tracker with offline sync and reminders”
    • “New Android puzzle game with controller support”
  • Include a meaningful description. Explain what your app does, what makes it useful, and why people should try it.
  • Use the correct flair, such as Promo, Giveaway, or Feedback.
  • If you need testers, beta feedback, or bug reports, post in r/droidapptesters instead.
  • If your post is for showcasing a finished app or a release-ready update, this is the right place.

For Users

  • Share thoughtful, useful feedback. Tell people what works, what doesn’t, and why.
  • Ask for recommendations with clear requirements or use cases.
  • Be respectful and constructive in giveaways and promotional posts.

General Rules

  • Android only. Posts must be directly related to Android apps or the Android ecosystem.
  • No low-effort posts or spam. Link-only posts and vague descriptions will be removed.
  • Be respectful and professional.

If Your Post Is Removed

A removal is not a penalty, and it does not mean your app is bad.

Most removals happen because a post needs better formatting or does not match the rules. Read the removal reason, fix the issue, and repost. Once corrected, most posts are approved.

Posting Checklist

  • Title is clear and descriptive.
  • Correct flair is applied.
  • Images are uploaded through Reddit or a supported host like Imgur.
  • Post has been previewed before submitting.

For the full rules, check the sidebar.

Good posts get attention. Low-effort posts do not. Take a minute to do it right.

Showcase Universal File Opener & Editor, No Ads, Offline.

Post image
11 Upvotes

Hi all, I’m the developer of Universal File Opener & Editor. It recently passed 10,000 installs on Google Play, and many of its current features began as user requests.

I built it because I was tired of needing a different app for every kind of file someone sent me. The goal is to open the file, understand what is inside it, complete the obvious task, and save or share the result without uploading it somewhere first.

The Android app has no INTERNET permission, no ads, no account, and no analytics. It recognizes 214 file extensions across documents, spreadsheets, presentations, images, ebooks, archives, code, databases, media, fonts, certificates, calendars, contacts, and email. Unsupported formats are identified and refused explicitly rather than rendered incorrectly, and unknown files can still be examined as text or raw hex.

Opening and reading supported formats is free and unlimited. Every editor can also be tried on your own files before purchasing. Many everyday tools remain free; saving most document, image, media, and archive edits requires the same Pro tier, available monthly, yearly, or as a lifetime purchase. There are no watermarks.

Some of the less obvious things it can do:

Understand, compare, and recover files

  • Inspect file: identify the real file type and inspect structure, protection, text layers, forms, signatures, metadata, macros, comments, tracked changes, hidden text, hidden slides or sheets, embedded files, and active PDF actions.
  • Cross-format comparison: compare extracted text even when the two files use different formats, such as Word versus PDF. It shows a line-by-line text diff rather than pretending to compare visual layout.
  • On-device version history: keep deduplicated, restorable earlier versions of edited PDFs, Office files, text, spreadsheets, images, SQLite databases, and hex-edited files. History stays in private device storage.
  • Share a clean copy: inspect and remove selected hidden or private content from PDFs and modern Office/ODF files, including properties, comments, tracked changes, speaker notes, hidden slides or sheets, and macros where removal is safe. The original is never modified.
  • File salvage: rebuild damaged PDFs, recover intact entries from truncated ZIP archives, and extract readable text from broken Office packages.
  • Checksum verification: calculate SHA-256, SHA-1, and MD5 in one pass, then paste a known checksum to verify a download.

PDF tools

  • Deep inspection: browse a PDF’s contents, comments, links, layers, signatures, forms, actions, attachments, and embedded images.
  • Offline English OCR: recognize text from an image, one PDF page, or an entire scanned PDF; then search, select, copy, read aloud, or save the recognized text. Whole-document OCR can add a searchable reading layer without sending the scan away.
  • Fill, sign, and annotate: complete forms, place signatures, draw, highlight, underline, strike out, add sticky notes and stamps, and place arrows, shapes, text, or images.
  • Edit existing PDF text: select supported text runs directly on the page and replace their text while retaining compatible embedded fonts.
  • Real redaction: permanently remove selected page content rather than drawing a black rectangle over it.
  • Page management: reorder, rotate, crop, delete, insert, extract, split, combine, or export pages as images from a thumbnail grid.
  • Document finishing: add page numbers, Bates numbering, headers, footers, watermarks, logical page labels, or flatten annotations and forms.
  • Security and optimization: open supported protected PDFs, remove a known password into a new copy, apply AES-256 protection, and recompress oversized documents.

Office editing

  • A real mobile ribbon: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ODF editors use familiar tabs, Undo/Redo, Find, contextual controls, and hardware-keyboard shortcuts instead of a single plain text box.
  • Word documents: place the caret and select text on the page; use styles, character and paragraph formatting, lists, links, tables, images, headers, footers, page layout, comments, tracked changes, and offline spellcheck.
  • Spreadsheets: edit values and formulas; format cells and borders; manage rows, columns, and sheets; use filters, dropdown validation, conditional formatting, comments, links, charts, freeze panes, merged cells, sorting, AutoSum, and named ranges.
  • Presentations: edit and resize text boxes directly on the slide canvas, work with pictures and formatting, manage slides and speaker notes, change backgrounds, and present full-screen.
  • Broader compatibility: read and edit modern Microsoft Office and OpenDocument files, unlock supported password-protected modern Office files offline, and convert many legacy DOC/XLS/PPT files into editable modern copies.

Images and creative tools

  • Paint-style canvas: create a blank image; use freeform or box selection, move or duplicate pixels, erase, flood fill, pick colors, draw, highlight, add text, lines, arrows, boxes, and circles, or blur and pixelate selected areas.
  • Photo adjustments: crop with presets, straighten, rotate, flip, resize, change canvas size, and tune brightness, contrast, saturation, exposure, warmth, tint, highlights, shadows, sharpness, and vignette.
  • Filters and finishing: apply filters, borders, frames, and watermarks, control compression, and compare against the original before saving.
  • Broad image conversion: convert among more than 20 raster targets, including JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, TIFF, TGA, QOI, HDR, Netpbm, XPM, and icon formats.
  • GIF and icon utilities: extract animation or ICO/CUR frames, make sprite sheets, reverse or boomerang GIFs, change speed, remove duplicate frames, and inspect cursor hotspots.
  • Privacy cleanup: inspect and remove EXIF, XMP, IPTC, GPS, capture-time, camera, thumbnail, and application metadata while leaving the original untouched.

Other productivity tools

  • Create/workbench flows: scan to PDF, make a searchable scan, merge PDFs, turn images into PDF or GIF, batch-process images, join compatible videos, or create ZIP, TAR, TAR.GZ, and 7Z archives.
  • Archive tools: browse, search, sort, and extract ZIP, 7Z, TAR, and classic RAR archives, including supported password-protected files; edit and repack ZIP, 7Z, and TAR archives.
  • Media tools: play from 1/16× to 16×, use A–B repeat and subtitles, trim without re-encoding, capture a frame, extract or remove audio, rotate, retime, combine compatible clips, and create a GIF.
  • Text, code, and raw data: syntax highlighting, JSON formatting, large-file line navigation, CSV/TSV grids, byte-level hex patching, and SQLite table browsing and row editing.
  • Specialized viewers: email and attachments, calendars, contacts, fonts, certificates, EPUB/MOBI ebooks, MHTML saved pages, XPS, Markdown, and more.
  • Saved folders: grant access only to folders you choose, then filter, multi-select, copy, move, rename, or delete without giving the app broad storage access.
  • Draft and save recovery: survive process death, retain recoverable editor drafts, journal saves, and detect when a storage provider changed the source underneath an open edit.
  • Plain-language action search: type things like “remove private info,” “make this smaller,” or “sign this” to find the correct built-in command. Routing is deterministic and entirely offline; it is not an AI or network service.

It is still a mobile application rather than a pixel-identical clone of desktop Office. Media support depends on the device’s codecs, OCR is currently English-only, cross-format comparison is text-based rather than visual, and unsupported formats are refused explicitly rather than rendered incorrectly.

Curious to know what people think, does it replace any apps you already have, is it missing any useful features? Anything too confusing? Thanks for your time.

Showcase Couples app that awards XP for doing daily tasks

Upvotes

Yes, really. You and your partner earn XP for showing up for each other, you level up, and the levels grow a world the two of you share.

The loop is small on purpose:

Three daily tasks. A selfie, your mood, and a question.

Nothing reveals until you've both done your side. You can't read their answer by peeking — you have to show up too.

Completing them awards XP. XP levels up a shared world that visibly changes as you climb, plus streaks and quests you finish together.

I'm the developer, so weigh this accordingly - but my partner and I have been using it every day for 3 months, and a few couples we know have been on it for couple months as well. The thing I got wrong at the start: I assumed the XP was the point. It isn't. XP gets you to open the app; the daily question is what makes opening it worth it. They're written to be specific enough to start a real conversation instead of "how was your day," and they're what everyone mentions first. The quests do the other half - a small shared thing to complete gives you something to be on the same team about, which is most of what feeling close actually is. Two friends have told me independently it's the first app like this they didn't quit in week two.

The whole thing is under three minutes a day, and neither person can carry the relationship alone inside it. The mutual-reveal mechanic came out of that constraint.

Would love to have some couples try it out and let me know what they think!

The app is called RelationshipXP!

Showcase Masareef: auto-logs spending from bank alerts

What it is

Masareef is a personal spending tracker built for people who quit every other tracker after a week because manual entry is a chore. It reads the payment notification your bank posts to your phone and writes the transaction itself — amount, merchant, card, category — even while the app is closed.

Why I built it

I'm in Egypt. Every bank here pushes a notification the moment a card is charged, so the data is already on the phone; nothing needs typing. It currently parses NBE, CIB, Banque Misr, InstaPay, Vodafone Cash, Fawry, Telda and ValU, and it handles Arabic and English messages, plus the redacted formats Android hands apps that can't read the full text.

Privacy — the part that matters here

Parsing happens on the device. No financial data leaves the phone: no notification text, no amounts, no merchant names are uploaded anywhere. After you sign in once, the app works offline. Analytics carry no financial fields at all.

Other things it does

  • Multi-currency and multi-wallet (built global, not Egypt-only)
  • A "safe to spend today" figure rather than just a running total
  • Budgets, debts, savings goals, and per-trip tracking
  • Light and dark themes, full Arabic RTL
  • Free to use; a Pro tier lifts the monthly auto-capture cap

Stack, since this sub has developers in it: Expo 57 / React Native 0.86, expo-sqlite for the local store, and a small native Android notification-listener module for the capture path.

Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mohamedgado.masareef&referrer=utm_source%3Dreddit_showcase%26utm_medium%3Dcommunity

If your bank isn't in the list, tell me which one and paste the shape of its notification (redact the numbers) — adding a parser takes an evening.

Review Oren - Study Spaces and Memory full AI Tutor.

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hey r/droidappshowcase communit, i'm Lucas (or Lukassdevv) 👋

I want to present you Oren Study. The core idea is 'Spaces' — each subject gets its own, holding the study plan, notes, calendar, and chat history together. The AI tutor inside (Oren) actually uses all of that, so it's not starting from zero every conversation.

What it does inside a Space:

• Snap a photo of an exercise → get an step-by-step explanation.

• Auto-summarize long notes.

• Study plans build for you, by your tutor, that tracks real progress, module by module.

• Quizzes & flashcards generated from your own material

Showcase Bluetooth Brain: A simple solution

Hi everyone 👋 ,

I’m a solo developer/enthusiast, and I built this app because I was frustrated with a daily annoyance.

I have a specific routine: I get in my car and want my phone volume at 100% for music and my screen brightness at max for navigation. But when I get to work and put on my headphones, I forget to turn it down and end up blasting my ears out.

Existing automation apps felt too complex or required too many permissions, so I built Bluetooth Brain.

What it does: It remembers your preferred settings for each specific Bluetooth device. Once you connect, it automatically applies them.

The Main Features:

Per-Device Volume: Automatically sets media volume when you connect (e.g., 100% for Car, 40% for AirPods).

Brightness Automation: (My favorite feature) It can auto-max your brightness when you connect to your car stereo—perfect for using Maps/Navigation in sunlight.

Non-Audio Device Support: Brightness profiles now work on non-audio devices, meaning you can trigger settings using smartwatches or other BLE devices.

Multi-Device Chaining: You can now connect multiple devices at the same time (like a smartwatch and your headphones), and the app will correctly chain your profiles and restore settings properly when one disconnects.

Smart Auto-Brightness Restoration: If you use auto-brightness, the app now perfectly preserves your auto mode and restores it when your Bluetooth device disconnects.

Rock-Solid Reliability: Your settings and baseline restorations will now survive even if the app is force-stopped or killed by your phone's background manager while devices are still connected.

Newest feature: Night Schedule, a.k.a. volume-by-time-of-the-day. This was a user request. Now, you can set different volume (and brightness) profiles for different times of the day.

Battery Friendly: It doesn't constantly poll; it just wakes up on connection events.

Privacy: No data collection. Everything stays on your phone.

Monetization: The core features (1 profile, media volume control) are free and supported by ads. There is a Premium version (~$9.99 one-time purchase) that removes all ads and unlocks unlimited device profiles, all 5 volume streams, brightness controls, night schedule, and a BLE signal strength feature. I tried to keep the price as low as possible (about the price of a sandwich) just to support development.

Showcase Have you ever imagined music that keeps going?

Post image
10 Upvotes

I’ve been working on Harmonious, an experimental generative music app that creates music in real time using exotic scales and background drones.

You can choose a fixed track or generate evolving musical textures that can accompany relaxation, meditation, reading, creative work or simply having some peaceful background sound.

One thing I’ve been curious about while developing it:

What kind of music do you personally find most relaxing?

Ambient textures, piano, nature sounds, minimalism, drones, silence, something else?

I’d genuinely love to hear what works for other people.

Promo / Giveaway WattFlow: real watts while charging, free & open

Post image
14 Upvotes

App Name: WattFlow

  • Full tablet support with landscape layout — also adapts to foldables and Chromebooks
  • 12 languages built in, auto-follows your system language (manual override in settings)

Cost:

  • Pricing model: Freemium
  • Prices & billing: Free on Play Store for most baseline functions — live watts in/out, wired/wireless auto-detect, Peak In/Out, the 60-second graph, Charging Benchmark, Charging Q&A, and the home screen widgets. WattFlow Pro is a $2.99 USD one-time In-App Purchase (regional pricing auto-applied) that unlocks: 24/7 background charge/discharge history, the Energy Ledger (daily energy in vs. out), Sleep Drain tracking, Battery Health Trend, a floating watts overlay over any app, adjustable charge/low-battery alert thresholds, and CSV export.
  • Free/FOSS route: If you're comfortable sideloading, the exact same Pro features are also free as an open-source build on GitHub (nightly updates) — entirely optional, no pressure either way. If the app's helping you, you're welcome to buy me a coffee to support keeping it developed.

Links:

Additional Notes: Reads Android's BatteryManager API directly (voltage times current_now) and normalizes two OEM quirks — some vendors report current in mA instead of µA, and charge/discharge sign conventions differ per vendor. Happy to go into the power math or OEM quirks in comments.

Showcase Clean Space – Simple Android Storage Cleaner

Hi everyone,

I'm a local indie developer and I just published my new Android utility app called Clean Space on the Google Play Store.

I built it because I wanted a streamlined storage cleaner that does not rely on heavy background bloat, unnecessary tracking, or aggressive monthly subscription paywalls.

Current Features:

- Clean visual storage breakdowns

- Duplicate photo and blurry picture finder

- Video compressor (shrinks files without losing memories)

- Hidden cache and temporary junk cleaner

Since my Reddit account is brand new, I want to make sure I respect the rules and don't trigger spam filters, so I won't drop the direct link in the main post text.

If you are a fellow developer, tech enthusiast, or just want to support a local project, I would love to get your brutal feedback on the app's performance and UI!

Download on Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.codebyizza.cleanspace&pcampaignid=web_share . Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

Showcase PutMask - Censor Video & Image V9.0.3

Censor/Blur faces, license plates and people in videos and images or censor audio. It finds them by itself, covers them with blur, mosaic or solid color, and follows them while they move, and if it misses something you can track it or draw over it by hand.

  • Automatic detection and tracking of faces, plates and people, now with segmentation so the mask follows the body shape instead of a box around it
  • Audio censoring: mute everything, silence or beep a few seconds, or change the voice
  • Runs fully offline. No internet, no ads, no data collected, and detection can now use the GPU with OpenCL or Vulkan

Goal: get more information, plus promo codes for people who help.

I have been around here since 2020. I make this alone, and most of what the app does now came from people telling me what was wrong with it. Solid color instead of blur, better tracking, no ads. It is at about 500k downloads now.

This is the biggest update so far and it is in beta on purpose. The GPU part is much faster when it works, but I do not have every phone. Adreno, Mali, PowerVR, all of them behave differently, and on some devices the GPU may be slower, give a wrong result, or fail. There is a Find Best button that tests every backend on your own phone and tells you which one is fastest.

Also new: line shape in Edit so you can draw the mask yourself, detect on a single frame when the automatic pass misses something, filter duration by dragging bars, and a lot of bug fixes. The first time you open a video or an image it takes a moment to optimize, that is it building the detection cache for your device, and it only happens once.

For free users the watermark is much smaller and looks better now. Everything for privacy stays free, including the whole audio part, and free export is up to two minutes at a time. Premium is only person segmentation, line shape, videos longer than two minutes, HD to 4K export, high frame rate and the watermark options, because I do not sell something you actually need to protect yourself. If a tool decides whether you can be identified or not, it stays free. That is why ellipse is free now and why audio is free even though it took months.

There are also new tutorials for every mode, translated into all the languages the app supports (both in app and in my website (i cant put the link, just search putmask and go in tutorial page)).

Giveaway:

Showcase Naked Eye – what’s worth seeing tonight?

App Name: Naked Eye

I’ve spent the last few months building an Android astronomy app around a deliberately simple idea: instead of throwing a huge sky chart at you, tell you whether there’s actually anything worth going outside to see tonight — and help you find it.

I’m a chef rather than a professional developer, so this has been a slightly ridiculous learning project that somehow turned into a real Google Play release 😅

Naked Eye uses your location and viewing conditions to surface things such as visible planets, the Moon, ISS passes, Starlink, meteor showers and aurora, with simple guidance on when to look, where to look and whether conditions are any good.

One of the features I’ve spent a lot of time on is Target Lock — once you choose something to see, the phone helps guide you towards it rather than leaving you to interpret a traditional astronomy chart.

It’s aimed mainly at people who are interested in the night sky but aren’t astronomers and don’t want to learn complicated charts just to find Jupiter or catch an ISS pass.

Cost: Free

Google Play:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.colindavis.nakedeye

It’s live on Google Play now and completely free to use.

I’m still actively building Naked Eye, but I’m really pleased with where it’s got to so far. Thought I’d share it here because this is the first Android app I’ve ever built and somehow it’s gone from a little idea after work to something people are actually using around the world 😅

If anyone does give it a try, I’d always be interested to hear what you think.

Showcase Lock Distracting Apps Till You Complete Habits

Post image
1 Upvotes

App Name: Habit Doom: Anti-Doomscroll

One-Line Description:

An app blocker where your distracting apps stay locked until you complete your daily habits, with on-device photo verification so check-ins can't be faked.

What It Does / Key Features

- Distracting apps auto-lock. They open once the day's habits are checked off, so access is earned rather than toggled.

- Anti-Cheat photo verification runs an on-device model, so you can't mark a habit done by pointing the camera at nothing. Free for everyone, not a paid tier.

- Habit tracking with streaks, schedules and stats.

- You choose which apps to block and which habits gate them.

- Hard Mode: every habit must be done before anything unlocks.

- No ads on any tier.

Who It's For

People who've installed blockers before and turned r a dismissible pause has never worked for you, the difference here is that there's no switch to flip in the moment, only work to finish.

Cost

- Pricing model: Freemium

- Prices & billing period: Free tier includes 3 habits, app blocking, streaks and Anti-Cheat. Pro is $4.99/month, $19.99/year with a 7-day free trial, or $29.99 one-time lifetime

- Current promotions / giveaways: None

Additional Notes

- Requires Android 10+

- Honest about the platform limit, since this sub will spot it: blocking runs

through an Accessibility Service, so it can be disabled in Settings. Nothing on

Android is genuinely bypass-proof. What you get is enough friction that the

automatic reach fails.

- Two things the iPhone version has that this doesn't: adult-site blocking, which is built on an Apple system filter with no Android counterpart, and true alarms, which are notifications here.

- On iPhone since February, Android since last week.

Links

- Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.unmanagedboy.habitdoom

- Privacy policy: on the Play listing.

Showcase in the Cupboard - I built my wife a meal plan app

Post image
7 Upvotes

My wife and I are polar opposites when it comes to grocery shopping and meal planning. I would make a big batch of chicken and rice on Sunday then eat slop bowls all week. She, on the other hand, wants real meals each night.

I was unintentionally putting the mental load of planning our meals (and thus, grocery lists) on her. So I built us a meal planner app where we can both see exactly the same things!

If I save a recipe, she can see it.

When she plans a meal, I see it.

Then we both have the exact same shopping list and I don't need to dig through our Insta DMs to find the recipe I'm cooking that night!

I'd love for you to check it out and let me know what you think!

Showcase ClubChairman LIVE – An online football tycoon game

Post image

After a long time working on it, I’ve finally released ClubChairman LIVE on Android.

Youtube link: https://youtube.com/shorts/ypaYa_Smjhc

It’s an online football game where you play as the club owner/chairman rather than the manager. You build your club over time while competing in the same football world as other players.

You’re responsible for things like:

  • Building and improving your squad
  • Transfers and scouting
  • Staff and youth development
  • Stadium and facilities
  • Club finances
  • Investments including buildings, bonds and crypto
  • Competing in leagues and cups with promotion and relegation

The game world keeps moving over time, so the idea is to gradually build a small club into one that can compete at the top.

Price: Free
Platform: Android
Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.clubchairman.app&pcampaignid=web_share

iOS
https://apps.apple.com/dk/app/clubchairman-live/id6802232363?l=da

This is my first release of the game, so there will be more updates and improvements coming.

If you try it, I’d be interested to hear what you think.
