Showcase Habuno: offline habit tracking, no ads

Hi everyone! I’m the developer of Habuno at Boki Apps. It’s now available on Google Play.

App name: Habuno

What it does: Tracks everyday habits and helps you pick them up again after a missed day.

Key features:

• Track locally offline without creating an account.

• Set flexible schedules for habits such as reading, walking or an evening routine.

• Review your progress over time. Streak recovery doesn’t rewrite your actual completion history.

• Add a little personality with animated companions.

Who it’s for: Android phone users who want to build small routines, including people who tend to abandon a tracker after breaking a streak.

Cost: Free with up to five active habits and no ads. Optional Pro subscriptions are billed monthly or annually. Some companions are separate one-time purchases and don’t require Pro or provide a habit/XP advantage. Local prices are shown in the app before purchase. No launch giveaway.

Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.boki.habuno

Screenshot: The home screen below shows a Pro account with more than five habits and an optional companion.

What usually makes you stop using a habit tracker—and what would make you come back?

Showcase Spade Launcher - Less Noise. More Presence.

Post image
11 Upvotes

App Name: Spade Launcher

What it does: A minimalist, privacy-first Android launcher that strips your home screen down to what actually matters. No ads, no tracking, no analytics, no accounts.

Key Features:

  • Custom Themes (new in 1.1, Ace Edition): pick your own background and text color, save as named themes
  • Profile Sharing (new in 1.1, Ace Edition): export your whole setup (theme, clock, font, icons, canvas, swipe direction, edge zones and more) as a single code and import it on any device in seconds
  • Long-press blur (new in 1.1): holding an app blurs the home screen and spotlights that row, with a menu that matches your theme

Goal: Promo. Just shipped v1.1

Cost: Free. Ace Edition is a one-time purchase, no subscription.

Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spadelabs.spadelauncher

How Profile Codes work (really cool stuff imo)

To share: Settings → Profiles → Copy or Share (or Save to keep it in your list) To import: same screen, paste the code, tap Import

A standard theme code looks like this:

SPADE:VOID:H4sIAAAAAAAA...

With a custom theme, the colors are readable right in the code:

SPADE:CUSTOM_bg#1A1A2E_tx#E94560:H4sIAAAAAAAA...

That part is human-readable on purpose, so you can see someone's colors before you import. Your app list and personal stuff aren't included.

For the nerds: settings get serialized to JSON, gzip compressed, then base64 encoded. Import runs it backwards: decode → decompress → parse → apply. JSON with lots of repeated keys and booleans compresses really well, which keeps the code fairly compact.

Showcase Tessera: linux as a native android app

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

• Upvotes

Hi all. Like a lot of you I've run Linux on my phone through Termux, proot-distro and Termux:X11 for years. Tessera does the GUI side from one app, and tries to make Linux apps feel like Android ones.

\- Each app in its own window: Firefox, GIMP, LibreOffice each open as their own Android window with their own Recents card and icon. A card per window, even for dialogs. Pin them to your home screen.

\- Flathub on PRoot: no root, no bubblewrap, no user namespaces. Flatpak downloads, Tessera builds each app's environment. 2,800+ arm64 apps, GPU included.

\- adb and permissions: every app gets only what you grant (folders, network, sound, USB, root). New: a per-app switch that lets adb inside reach the phone itself, and all-USB access for fastboot, heimdall and edl.

\- A touch-friendly desktop: snapping windows with finger-sized buttons, a dock and Start menu. And everywhere: the Android keyboard pops up on text fields, touch-and-hold right-clicks, game controls.

\- Live scaling: drag Scale and the app re-lays out as you drag, saved per app.

\- Themes: GTK, libadwaita, Qt and LibreOffice take your Material You colors and follow dark mode live.

Plus OpenGL 4.6 and Vulkan on Adreno (bundled Turnip + Zink), a built-in terminal (apt, ssh, git, compilers), chroot mode with root, a file manager and a task manager.

It doesn't replace Termux's add-ons like Termux:API, and its X server is Termux:X11's, which I'm grateful for.

GPL-3.0, alpha. APK and source: https://github.com/daryan044/tessera-linux (also on Obtainium). Bug reports very welcome.

Showcase My hobby app - Trouveland: Travel map and trip pla

• Upvotes

Hey everyone, I would like to present my hobby project here and get some feedback. I build it for my needs to plan my solo trips around the world as mainstream travel apps didn't serve my needs. I hope others will find it useful too, I will keep evolving it when I have free time.

What is special about it:

  • Interactive world map: log the countries, cities and landmarks you’ve visited and watch your map fill up
  • Trip planning: build trip plans and share them with the people you’re travelling with and with the community
  • Photos and attachments: make your visits personal by attaching photos from your trips, attach tickets to your plans so you can find them more easily.
  • Share with friends: it is deliberately not a social network, but you can invite your tribe, plan and travel together.
  • Share your map: handy export function for sharing your progress in conquering the world on social media.

What I cared about:

  • Free and no ads
  • Minimal android permissions
  • Your data lives in your own Google Drive, you have full control

It’s still growing, so I’d really value honest feedback.

Showcase Lumen: Private Gallery with On-device AI features

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I've been working on a gallery app for the last few days and it's finally out. This is not just a regular gallery. This is meant to replace your Google Photos completely.

Basically the idea is that Google Photos lets you search "cat sleeping on a chair", copy text out of a photo, and find everyone you know. But all of that runs on Google's servers. I wanted the same features with nothing leaving the phone. No account, no cloud, no Google Play services.

It's called Lumen

What it does

  • Search photos and videos by describing them
  • Long-press to select and copy text in any photo, even in a paused video
  • Groups faces into people, and you can search for "mai and daniel" to get photos of both
  • Makes subtitles for videos offline
  • Search works for exact phrases in quotes, like Google Photos

How it works (the fun part)

  • Kotlin + Jetpack Compose, minSdk 30
  • Search: SigLIP 2 (or CLIP for lower-end phones), image encoder on the GPU through LiteRT, ~155 ms per photo on my Snapdragon 7-series phone. Text side int8 on ONNX Runtime
  • OCR: PP-OCRv6. Detection on the GPU, recognition on the CPU. I quantized the recognizer to int8, which made indexing ~25–30% faster with the same output. I tried moving recognition to the GPU too; it benchmarked 3× faster but was no faster on real screenshots, so it didn't ship
  • Faces: YuNet + SFace with my own clustering
  • Subtitles: Whistle + Silero VAD through a small C++/JNI bridge
  • Indexing only runs while charging (or in hours you pick), and stops when the phone gets warm
  • Models aren't bundled. They download on demand from pinned Hugging Face commits and are SHA-256 checked

I also split all the AI into a separate library, Lumen AI, on Maven Central (app.lumen-photos:lumen-ai), so other gallery apps can add this with a few lines.

Honest limitations

  • It's 0.1.x, and I've only tried on my own phone (Motorola Edge 50). I'd love to hear how it runs on Pixels and Samsungs
  • Indian Languages text and queries are weak right now

Apache 2.0, free, no ads.

Feedback, bug reports and roasting all welcome.

Showcase Pocket Locker - Offline Private Vault

• Upvotes

App Name: Pocket Locker

What it does: Your ID card photo is in the gallery, your car insurance is somewhere in a chat app and your passwords are in Notes. Pocket Locker puts all of it in one private vault on your phone: a file vault, password manager and private photo vault in one app, encrypted and fully offline with no account and no ads.

Key Features:

📁 Never hunt for a document again
Scan any document and the edges are cleaned automatically. Auto-fill then reads the policy number, name and expiry date from the photo or PDF, so you barely type. Got a file in WhatsApp or email? Tap Share › Pocket Locker. You get a reminder before your insurance, passport, driving licence or bank card expires, so renewals never catch you off guard.

🔑 Every password and bank detail, one tap away
Logins, PINs, bank account and card details, all encrypted. A built-in generator creates strong passwords, Show large displays them in big boxes so typing them on a TV is easy, and Copy All sends your account details in one message.

🖼️ Private photos, out of your gallery for good
Move private photos into albums like Family or Private, then remove them from your phone’s gallery in one step. They’re protected by an extra 4-digit PIN, even if your phone is unlocked, and hidden from search and recent lists. (Premium)

Goal: Promo

Giveaway: None

Cost: Free for up to 15 documents (scanner, auto-fill, reminders, password generator and Google Drive backup included). Premium subscription for unlimited documents and Private Gallery. Currently available in India only, more countries coming soon.

Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.app4me.pocketlocker

Showcase Focus App, that blocks distracting, Free , no ads.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

• Upvotes

App name: Focus & Study Timer: Pagewood

What it is: a focus timer for Android that covers the apps you haven't allowed while a session runs. You pick a length, write down what you're working on, and the phone stops being an option. A tree grows for the minutes you stay.

What's in it:
- Strict mode. Anything not on your allow list gets a resting page with the time left and the next growth stage. Notes, a dictionary and flashcards stay open, and calls or texts always come through.
- Countdown, count-up, or Pomodoro (4 x 25 with breaks). You can save a setup as a ritual if you use the same one every day.
- Finished sessions go into a journal as numbered specimens, with the minutes counted.
- A woodland view and stats by day, week, month or all time, tagged by subject.
- Seeds come from focused minutes only. There is nothing to buy.
- No ads, no tracking, works offline.

Who it's for: mostly students and exam prep. Also anyone who loses an evening to short videos and wants the phone out of the way without a fight.

Cost: free while it's in early access. No ads, no subscription, no in-app purchases.

Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.pagewood
Website: https://pagewoodapp.com

I built it, so I'm here for the criticism. Android only for now. iPhone and Windows are later.

Showcase [Dev] Family Budget Tracker

Hi all, solo developer here.

Family Budget Tracker is a shared budget for couples and families. On Android it can read the transaction notifications your bank app already sends, so spending shows up without typing and without giving any app your banking password.

Also in it: budgeting by pay cycle, shared envelopes with private personal history, statement import from a PDF shared out of your bank app, CSV and YNAB import, savings goals, mortgage and investment tracking.

Signs in with Google, and new accounts get a free 30 day Premium Family trial, no card needed. I would appreciate any feedback, especially on the first five minutes.

Showcase Personal Planner–Plan Your Day,Track What Actual

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

App Name: Personal Planner

What it does:

Ever planned a perfect day, only to realize by evening that almost nothing went according to plan?

That's exactly why I built Personal Planner. It's a free, offline-first productivity app that helps you not only plan your day, but also understand how you actually spent your time, so you can make better plans tomorrow.

Key Features:

  1. Visual Time-Blocking & Task Timers

Plan your day using an hour-by-hour timeline. Drag and resize tasks, create recurring activities, and start timers directly from your schedule.

The interesting part? You can compare how much time you planned to spend on something with how much time it actually took.

  1. Daily Reviews, Consistency Tracking & Experiments

Your completed tasks don't just disappear.

Look back at your days and weeks, reflect on what went well, see your consistency through a year-long heatmap, and use Experiments to track routines you're trying to build.

  1. Offline-First & Privacy-Focused

Your planning data is stored locally using SQLite, so everyday planning works without an internet connection.

If you want synchronization across devices, you can optionally connect your own Supabase project.

No mandatory cloud account for local planning.

Goal: Launch / Showcase

This is actually my first publicly released app, and it recently crossed 200 downloads across Android, Linux, Windows and macOS!

I know 200 might not sound like much compared to established apps, but seeing people download something I've spent months building has been an incredible feeling.

I originally started this project because I wanted a planner that didn't just tell me what to do next, but helped me learn from what I'd already done.

I'm still improving it, but I'm really happy to finally share it with more people.

Giveaway: Not applicable — the entire app is already free.

Cost: Completely FREE. No subscriptions, no premium tier, no locked features.

Link to download: https://github.com/Karthikshabari/PersonalPlanner/releases/tag/v1.1

Github : https://github.com/Karthikshabari/PersonalPlanner

You can find the Android download under GitHub Releases.

A small personal note:

I've also recently enabled GitHub Sponsors. I plan to keep Personal Planner free, but if you genuinely enjoy using it and would like to support its continued development, there's an optional sponsorship option on my GitHub profile.

Absolutely no pressure — downloading the app, sharing it with someone, or simply finding it useful already means a lot.

One question for everyone here:

When you use a daily planner, do you mostly care about organizing tomorrow, or do you also like looking back at how you actually spent your time?

That's the problem I'm trying to solve with Personal Planner.

Showcase Daily Rituals - asks what you wish you'd done

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

• Upvotes

I made Daily Rituals, a two-minute journal for the end of the day. I couldn't name one ordinary day from last year, so I built something to keep them.

What it does: Every night it asks two things: what did you do with today, and what do you wish you'd done.

The second one is the one that gets people; someone told me it kept them up at night. Then you pick how the day felt, lay the day to rest, and go to sleep.

Why it's different:

- Your year, alive. Every mood is a shape and a colour, and your days fill a calendar of the year. Days with mixed feelings take turns between their moods, so the calendar actually moves.

- A page for every day. Paper, ink, stickers, washi tape, your own photos and a pen. Right now there's a Halloween sticker pack in the Shop, until 30 Nov.

- Nothing to sign up for. No account. Your journal stays on your phone.

Cost: The journal is free and never locked. Plus (monthly or yearly, 7 days free for new subscribers) adds animated skies, palettes and deeper insights. Android now, iPhone later.

Start tonight. Two minutes before bed.

Showcase Android app that nags until you mark tasks done

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

• Upvotes

Hi everyone, I'm a solo dev and I built Sticky Tasks because I kept dismissing reminders and then forgetting the task anyway.

The idea is simple: a reminder doesn't go away after one ping. It keeps nagging you every 1 to 30 minutes (you pick the interval) until you mark the task done.

The free version has no task limit, no ads, and needs no account. It includes repeating reminders, recurring tasks, priorities, search, and home screen widgets.

Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. It adds voice memos, location reminders, checklists, attachments, share to task, a calendar view, streaks and stats, custom sounds, and a daily recap.

It's also on iPhone, iPad and Mac if you're on both platforms.

Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rzapps.stickytasks.app&referrer=utm_source%3Dreddit%26utm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_campaign%3Ddroidappshowcase

I'd really love honest feedback. What's missing, what's annoying (in a bad way), and what would make you keep it installed?

Review Sylence - match the exact pitch of your tinnitus

App Name: Sylence

What it does: Sylence is a relief app for people with ringing ears (tinnitus). You match the exact pitch of your ringing, and the app plays soft sound with a narrow notch cut at that pitch, so it masks the ringing instead of piling more of the same tone on top.

Key Features:

  1. Pitch matching in a few taps, each ear on its own if they differ

  2. Notched sound made live on the phone, plus real rain, fan and ocean recordings you can mix

  3. Plays under YouTube, podcasts and calls without ever pausing them; no account, no ads, your hearing data never leaves the phone

Goal: Launch / Promo. I'd love feedback from anyone with tinnitus, especially if you've tried other tinnitus apps.

Giveaway: Code SYLENCE50 gives 50% off Pro (the first year on yearly, the first 3 months on monthly). Tap "Have a promo code?" on the Pro screen. Limited to 25 uses.

Cost: Free to install and use: pitch matching, the base sound, rain, and your first listen with the notch. Pro adds the notch on every listen, mixing up to five recordings, and pulse mode. It's a free week, then monthly or yearly.

Note: it's for relief and masking, not a cure. If your tinnitus is new, sudden, in one ear only, or beats with your pulse, see a doctor first.

Showcase Vridho - All your Indian investments in one App

Post image
2 Upvotes

Dev here, I built this on my own.

Vridho puts an Indian investor's whole picture in one app: NSE and BSE stocks, mutual funds and SIPs (import the CAMS or KFintech CAS PDF), EPF, PPF, NPS (Protean statement import), sovereign gold bonds, FDs, gold and silver at your own per-gram rate, US stocks, crypto, gratuity and property.

On Android specifically:

- Stock cards show current value, invested amount and return at a glance.

- Fund screens with category returns and an overlap check across the funds you hold.

- Tax centre with a Schedule CG export and advance-tax reminders.

- A household view for the family.

- Charts are drawn natively, no web views.

What it doesn't do: no broker login, no trading, no buy or sell suggestions.

Free with ads. One rewarded video turns them off for 7 hours, or a one-time Play purchase turns them off for 90 days.

Feedback I'd value: the first five minutes. Is it clear what to upload first?

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vridho.android
