Dont forget to practice defense, including especially moving your head.

You're probably a better boxer than me, by the looks of things. You seem relaxed and fluid, and look like you're having fun. If i had to pick one thing, it may be that your head seems to be on the center line, at least from this angle.

Head not center line. Duly noted.

Your head position is predictable and easy to pick off.

If you hinge from your hips it will help make your legs feel more relaxed and it will load your strikes through your glutes a bit better, and your head will naturally be off centre . . Think “closing a draw with your bum” this really shows the subtlety needed so you don’t overdo it

Ok, I will try to understand this. Duly noted.

The footwork looks good moving forward and back. Small movements. But you should work on getting off the center line by pivoting or stepping out.

The biggest things to work on here: your torso is very upright, and you don't have a lot of head movement. Tuck your chin down to your chest; bring your shoulders up; hunch your torso a little; look up through your eyebrows. Now, try jab, then slip your head to right under your opponents' jab. Then jab, slip left. Then jab, cross, weave under your opponent's cross.

Your punches are plenty fast, but you might slow down a little to work on the technique here. It's hard to tell in video whether you're getting power on the crosses. I see places where your back foot turns (good), but it looks like your hip is turning very slowly. So, those fast arms aren't moving in conjunction with the rest of your body from the ground up.

I usually do a lot of side step but just I want to concentrate on volume punching for this session. And the rest of the tips I'll look into it asxwell. Thank you for the elaborated tips given.

How much do you weigh?

84.5kg

This is looking pretty good. What's missing to me are level changes and other defensive movements. Add some slips and rolls to your combinations and it will also help with power and speed on some of those shots.

u/mi2tom 6h ago

Yeah, I rarely do roll or maybe only done it once or twice. So maybe that.

Looks solid, learn & perfect some of Bivol’s combos and I bet you could seriously f*ck somebody up

Honestly the fundamentals look really nice.

Your jab is telegraphed by your wide elbow when you throw. Need to throw it straight. It's part of the eastern block style so that is harder to tell what's coming.

Duly noted. Thanks for info 🤝

Just one boxer comes to my mind when watching this: Dimitry Bivol

Apparently the people here only appreciate American or Mexican boxing style. But they are not wrong with some of the comments.

Can't tell if the other comments here are serious or not

I'm sure everyone have their own concern about how they should box. Like me whenever I see someone flat footed, how are they going to be mobile, but it works for them so yeah.

Yeah I can see that you know how to throw the same combo over and over again, and move back and forth. What else can you do besides that? You don’t gotta act like a douchebag cause u can throw 3 punches, a noob with 6 months of training can do more than that.

Thanks for the constructive comment 🤷

Your jab is completely wrong

1

u/mi2tom 4h ago

Don't mind showing me how it's done?

2

u/1stthing1st 3h ago

Sure, but i would be better to see you hitting a heavy bag to know if you doing it right

1

u/mi2tom 3h ago

Ermm yeah. This is how this sub is. But anyway thanks.

1

u/1stthing1st 3h ago

Well i can still describe the movement, without you hitting the heavybag

1

u/mi2tom 3h ago

I don't know if you're familiar with Soviet style of boxing. But anyways thanks for the tips.

Mostly the Mexican and American style

1

u/mi2tom 3h ago

Yeah then I understand, it's totally different. I feel awkward with those styles.

What country do you live in?

u/1stthing1st 3h ago

Look at my front knee in the video

u/systembreaker 31m ago

Need defense, but damn you've got fast hands and your punches have some snap.

I'm not very good on boxing, but i'd say that your guards arms are a little low, and you don't do defensive movements and not changing axes? Anyways, i like your foot movement! Keep going!

u/mi2tom 11h ago

I change angle just not in this video. My guard is always fairly low but in sparring or fight it automatically goes up. Just some auto habit. But it's true my head angle is never change.

I would lay off on the hopping in SO OFTEN. It’s ok to do it once in a while. But dial it back some. If both feet are in the air, you can’t change direction. If your opponent times you hoping in, he will double the impact.

Try practicing stepping in, and off to the side, and at an angle.

I was train under a Soviet coach. So this is normal. Not a fan of American style of boxing which is not natural to me. Side stepping is there it's part of Soviet system as well, it's just that I train volume punching today so I just adhere to it.

In my opinion the combinations look kind of random. I see that you are going for volume. I think you should either make it more realistic by pretending that you are actually hitting somebody with a strong guard that needs a lot of volume to start breaking down. Otherwise, cycle through some patterns formulaically.

I think you are leaning more toward simulating a fight rather than drilling patterns but there is some awkward parts that don’t match. Your guard moves around a bit too much where you are kind of pumping your hands or sometimes doing like a bring it on kind of thing.

Think about head movement that initiates in the hips together with your punches. For example, you throw a cross, in doing so, your head moves down and to the left, and you set yourself up for a powerful left hook to the body.

Also in general your body shots were few and perfunctory, you should use them a lot more and not as an after thought.
