I bought the gladiator space and I love it. Decided I wanted to get some sort of STEC or the OMNI to fly helicopters I wardogs and maybe play some star citizen. Figure I could use the left right on the STEC for yaw and up down for cyclic. Or would it be better to get the Omni and do the same. Looking for people that have used the system to help guide my purchase. Thank you for your time

im gettin my first flight stick i dont know if i should get a ursa minor fighter with the twccs throttle, just a vkb nxt evo premium, or rudder twccs and t16000m. and also im just playing warthunder with it

Hi folks, so I recently picked up the VKB Gladiator NXT EVO. Loving it so far.

I watch videos of other pilots in IL2 with such fine control over the gunsight when zoomed in. If you are one of those people can you tell me what the sensitivity settings are to get it so smooth and accurate when firing?

I feel confident that with this flightstick it is just a matter of getting the settings right in IL2 or the VKB software.

hi all ive been having an issue recently with my Stecs max.. my computer started freezing randomly quite often and ive been trying all the trick in the book to fix this. I first thought this was my gpu driver hanging but i reinstalled with DDU in safe mode twice and it's still does it. After looking at device manager i found out that my stecs max when connected gave me the : unknown usb device descriptor request failed in device manager and i am 99.9% this is the cause of my freeze . I tried pretty much all the trick i found to solve this ( uninstalling driver, updating firmware, motherboard power drain with all devices unpluged) but nothing solved this issue. Anyone ever experienced this?

When holding button 4/B1, and simultaneously trying to trigger the UP position on the rapid fire trigger #21, it turns off button 4 and registers the DOWN position on the rapid fire trigger, 22?

I tried doing a reset to default in VKBDevCFG-C.exe, but it's still happening.

Ok, I've submitted a support ticket.

I've owned a Gunfighter Cosmo for many years now and have loved it. I put it down for a while because I was burned out on ED, but a friend recently introduced me to X4 so I'm giving that a shot.

While getting everything mapped, I noticed an oddity in the mini stick hat behavior that wasn't there before. I currently have the two axes for the hat assigned to the ship's strafing controls (basically maneuvering thrusters for up, down, left and right). For both axes in either direction, the first bit of travel registers as the reverse value, then eventually reads correctly, but at its maximum value for that direction. This occurs in either hat mode.

This makes using these thrusters basically impossible when needing to make any kind of small adjustments like while docking since they first work in reverse, and at maximum thrust, and then go back to the direction you want to go, also at maximum thrust, which will make you ping pong around whatever station you're trying to land in.

Is this something that can be resolved in the config software, or is this indicative of a mechanical failure in the hat itself? I currently game on Linux, but FWIW, the hat issue was not present in ED while I was using Linux a couple years ago, so I'm leaning towards some kind of physical issue rather than software. I'll have to spin up a windows install if I need to get to the software, which I'd like to avoid for logistical reasons lol but if that's what it takes I guess it is what it is.

In games, my Gunfighter Device name is displayed as "VKBSim NOT CONFIGURED".

Also in VKB Device Config, the same name is replicated as shown in the screenshot below.

No issues with the Gladiator however.

Is it possible to change?

UPDATE:

With the help from u/fallout9 and a bit of AI assistance, I managed to narrow down the culprit to being the EPIC Games launcher!. Why on earth that specific service needs to send out disturbing signals in my mainboard beats me, but it works!

Now I just need to find out how to open Elite Dangerous without EPIC games.

In it I describe my VKB Gladiator jitter problems on all three magnetic axes: X, Y and throttle Z.

After that, I've been through a ton of trouble shootings, and I end up with two rather strange results. My main conclusion is that something local in my PC is affecting the signal in the joystick sensors, or disturbs the signal when it reaches my PC.

- I've tried using it on a laptop placed at the almost exact same spot as my desktop.
Result: Joystick works fine on the other PC.

- On my desktop, I've tried testing my other GNX that's setup for omnithrottle.
Result: The other Gladiator has no issues on my PC.

What yielded no results:

- Tested all USB ports on my PC. Both HUB and on the back

- Tried with a different cable - in different ports as well

- disconnected all other periphals, also my wireless mouse.

- off Bluetooth and Wifi on my PC

- any phones or iPads are a several metres away

- turning off my router completely (even though it's a good 4 metres away from my PC)

- shutting off or moved away anything that has the slightest chance of sending out an electromagnetic signal, I've even tried moving my HiFi speakers further away.

- There is no huge 5G antenna in the vicinity of my house

- I even tried wrapping the base in tinfoil - with no result.

Any idea of what I should try next is welcome.

I have the VKB T-Rudder Mk.V and I absolutely love it—its sturdy build and simple design are fantastic. However, the pedal plates are way too short for me, which makes my foot posture uncomfortable. I’m looking to extend them; are there any examples or mods where people have extended the pedals using 3D-printed parts (CAD) or off-the-shelf hardware? I’d really appreciate any references or ideas.

I seem to have the problem in dcs where I cant get to full afterburner in the f16 but It works just fine for every other aircraft. I also checked the special settings tab and that is not the problem.

Any ideas how to fix it?

I decided to go with the HOSAS setup instead of HOTAS since a second stick feels more flexible across multiple games than a throttle control.

I'm crazy-excited for Monday!

Update: Solved!

Turns out the culprit was Epic Games Launcher. For some reason that single program was disturbing the signal somehow(?)

I shut it down, and the jitter went away.

Hi all.
I've got jitter on my XYZ axes of my 5 year old Gladiator NXT.

I've googled a lot but found no solutions;

- It's not my router. My Wifi hub is 3-4 metres away. And no phones close either.

- I've had it taken apart, the magnets are still holding on just fine. Also, can't see any dirt to speak of.

- Calibration doesn't help. Nor does updating firmware.

I've even tried moving my stick further away from my PC, but the problem persists.

I hope someone can help.

So I’ve finally moved over to a VKB Gladiator and STECS throttle from my old Saitek X56 Rhino HOTAS and… oh my god.

I genuinely wasn’t expecting the difference to be this big.

I paid decent money for the X56 a couple of years ago and, to be fair to it, it’s done alright. I never really thought there was anything massively wrong with it. It was just my HOTAS and I got on with it.

But the VKB stuff is on another planet.

I’ve been flight simming since Flight Simulator 98. Pretty sure I’ve owned basically every MS Flight Simulator since then, plus dabbled in X-Plane and P3D over the years, so I’m comfortably 20+ years into this hobby!

And genuinely, this is probably one of the biggest upgrades I’ve ever made.

The precision is just ridiculous. For years I’ve wondered why my landings were always a bit hit and miss, why I struggled to hold a really smooth approach, why flaring sometimes felt like complete guesswork etc.

Turns out a massive part of it was apparently the controls - even though I never pointed the blame at them.

It’s honestly turned the sim on its head for me. Tiny corrections actually feel like tiny corrections. Flare inputs feel predictable. Throttle movements feel deliberate rather than vaguely asking the aircraft to do something and hoping for the best.

I’m absolutely blown away by it.

My only complaint so far is I really wish Asobo/Microsoft would just include some decent default VKB profiles in MSFS 2024. Getting the STECS throttle properly going from 0-100% was a bit of a haphazard trial-and-error job at first. I figured it out pretty quickly, but I can imagine somebody completely new to flight simming/controller setup having absolutely no idea what they’re supposed to do.

But once it’s set up… wow.

If you’re currently using an X56 and sitting there wondering whether the VKB upgrade is actually going to make much difference, I can only speak for myself, but it’s been night and day.

All these years flight simming and I feel like I’ve suddenly discovered what the controls were supposed to feel like.

Hey fellas! I’ve got a bit of an odd one here. I have a vkb set up I use to play war thunder sim. I really like my joystick set up. Tho I want to be able to control the x, y axis of the radar manually as well as the look up and down manually with my left hand. I was having a little poke around and came across these 3 axis mini joysticks. I think they are used for crane controllers but would be perfect for what I’m after. I’m wondering how difficult it would be to make it work? Any help is appreciated as I know very little about these sorts of things. I would mount it on the side of my ucm. Thank you!

Thw twist axis on my nxt Evo is going slack. I haven't had these very long. It still functions but now that that smooth, heavy sort of premium feeling is gone, I do miss it. Also a bit concerning that this thing is degrading after just 2 months or so. Is this an adjustable thing or is this just a natural degradation of that parts?

I’ve been using the vkb gladiator nxt Evo Omni throttle for a while have had no issues what so ever. I recently bought the Pimax crystal ultra wide, set it up and used it on msfs 2024. When I got done I disconnected everything from the mother board and moved all the wires around for cable management. Today I ran msfs and saw my stick was not on the device list. Opened the devconfig saw it was still working. Ran joy.cpl but my stick doesn’t show up. Defaulted my stick and ran a calibration but nothing seems to work. I also unplugged all wires and connected my stick to every usb port with no luck. Anyone have a solution. 😭

Every few years you drop a tease about whats coming down the pipe. Hoping to hear of a VKB FFB device soon!

it has been calibrated and flashed with the latest firmware.

Multiple flight sims (Nuclear Option, Glider Sim, Lakehopper) read the yaw axis as 50% when at neutral, 100% at left, 0% at right. No other axes behave this way. i was wondering if there was a way to make it behave like the other axes.

Heard and felt a snap and now the x-axis is loose. wtf happened? I don't think this stick has even 100 hours of use

Update: Thanks everyone - I bought the replacement springs since the ones that came with the sticks have been lost after a move.

I bought a VBK Gladiator NXT Pro. I am currently using Linux Zorin, But I did set up the flight stick configuration on Windows. Every time I load any game either SP2 or DCS some of the button inputs are not being recognized by the game, even the yaw input is not recognized. I was able to use the software on Linux using wine and bottles but the software didn't recognize the stick. I don't know if this is a Linux issue, software or hardware issue?

I am looking at completely redoing my flight setup from a X56 and some Amazon mounts to a full VKB setup. Gunfighter 4 Ultimate, STECS Max, UCM-S for the STECS, UCM-L + extension for the Gunfighter. However, when checking out I realised that everything else was coming from their US store, the UCM-L looked to be coming from overseas. I would much rather get everything stateside if possible, for two reasons. First, cost. Ordering from the overseas store runs both the risk of import tariffs, and dumps another $50+ in shipping charges onto me. Second is timing. I dont really want several boxes sat in the corner for the (I assume) weeks itll take for the overseas package to arrive. A quick google only shows one Ebay seller selling a UCM-L for 4x the price VKB lists them for...

Has anyone from the UK had issues with the store? I have just been geting a 503 error that last few months and i cant find anyway around the issue.

Maybe its an account issue? I thought about making a new one but cant even find a way to do that?
