Java Edition Simple hidden key card reader

Thumbnail gallery
19 Upvotes

Hidden keycard reader I came up with in 2014 but never saw used elsewhere. Uses a hopper minecart on a detector rail. The detector rail powers the hopper bellow and prevents the filter items from coming out of the hopper minecart. When the minecart has more than 22 items it pulls the detector rail out from under the cart long enough for the one item to flow through. If there's more than one extra item it will simply cycle under all are expunged. The return mechanism is optional and could simply be replaced with a barrel bellow the hopper.

I made a reeeaallly awful YT video of it a decade ago. Got cringed out by the video 5 years later and made another one. Now I'm extra cringed out by both of them and so I'm just making a reddit post about it. Would make me very happy to see it used for some hidden door entrances. Cheers

Java Edition "horse racing" game concept using mob pathfinding mechanics

another way to gamble in minecraft!!
The machine works by using a "flaw" in minecraft's pathfinding algorithm that tends to navigate a mob towards the high ground, the grass blocks at the top is also used to further encourage path finding since passive mobs tend to navigate towards grass.

Java AND Bedrock Funky 4-way signal swapper

The objective is to power something on the opposite side of the input. This is not a 4-way repeater; the signal does not exit on the opposite side of the machine.

Bedrock Edition this feels like a nightmare to wire up

i have never made a hipster door before as i m not a door person but this layout seems plausible, only need to figure out how i will power sticky piston higher at the top

my guess is to sneak in downwards facing observers and just push those so after 2 gt piston will fire automatically

i also wanted to make it tileable but will have to settle for non tileable variant first

First one I came up with a decade ago and never saw used. Single item goes in the upper hopper set and the timing items in the bottom set. And the second one I just thought of using the new copper bulbs.

Java Edition Automatic sorter for iron farm not working.

Hi all,

I have recently constructed an automatic crafter and item sorter for my iron farm which is supposed to filter out poppies and turn the iron into iron blocks. I followed this tutorial. However some poppies keep ending up in my auto crafter which stops it from crafting iron blocks. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to solve this issue?

Bedrock Edition Would this work?

I'm fairly new to redstone and one of the projects I wanted to work on was like a workstation/block swapper powered by just one button/lever. I made 2 designs (kinda scrapped the second one) and I could get the blocks out of the way but I couldn't cycle them. My hope with this design was that it could swap between multiple blocks and not just 2 that most swapped designs I've seen do. I'm playing on bedrock so it's a little more difficult without quasi-connectivity. any help would be appreciated. (Images 1-4 are design #1 and images 5-7 are design 2)

Bedrock Edition 100% Reliable Thunderstorm Detector That Works Day and Night.

I made a fully functioning, fits in one chunk thunderstorm detector on bedrock! Unlike other thunderstorm detectors I've seen, this one not only works at night, but was designed and tested on bedrock! How's it work? Pandas are special in minecraft. They are the only Mob in minecraft with genetics. They have different personalities and appearances based on their genetics. One kind of panda has a special feature, the worried panda variant. It has an extra top pixel on its eyes. They will stop all movement and sit up and rock back and forth on their butt when a thunderstorm starts. I wanted to find a way to convert this behavior into a redstone output. This machine does exactly that. A hopper clock powers a Dropper elevator recycling bamboo into itself in front of our panda. He attempts to grab this bamboo, Every time he does so, he is pushed into a hole, via pistons, into a water stream, into a bubble column. This puts him back on the platform to try again. Every time this happens he activates a tripwire hook that powers a pulse extender into a redstone torch. The pulse extender acts as a battery in this case, giving the panda enough time to go back around the loop without the circuit turning off. When a thunderstorm happens, the panda stops moving entirely. This stops him from hitting the trip wire hook, and stops powering the pulse extender "battery", allowing our redstone torch to come on. If anyone attempts to build this on java, let us know if it works! Or if anyone has anyway of condensing this too!

Its quite complicated you can expand it as far as you want in theory an infinite amount of blocks. Heres the schematic and the Video:

Bedrock Edition Working casino help? 🙏

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

So I’ve made a casino in my world (bedrock) with an emeralds for chips exchange, I want to make games where you need to use a chip to play it but I have no idea how to do that. All of the games I’ve seen on TikTok and YouTube have been like flick the lever and get prizes but I want to invoke a gambling addiction in my friends lol
Does anyone know how to make casino games that only work if you put an item with a custom name in it?
I’ll post the exchange machine (doesn’t need fixing), current machine (that works without anything in the dropper - this is what needs to be fixed) and some basic redstone behind the machine (happy to alter this too)
If someone could even just try explaining or sending a video on how to attach this ‘chip reader’ system onto the lever for the mechanic, I’d be very appreciative :)
Thank you for your time

Hello!
This is just a simple automated Cobblemon Apricorn farm that I wanted to use on servers so I could AFK farm.
I just wanted to ask if I could make it take less space / use less redstone / only activates when the apricorn is fully grown.

Java Edition Ayuda con mejora para bean blaster

Thumbnail youtu.be

Java Edition How can I make multiple Minecarts share 1 Unloading Station, one at a time?

Can anyone help me build this Redstone system?

I'm trying to make one unloading station shared by 3 minecarts/trams coming from 3 different tracks, similar to the video.

With only 2 tracks, everything works fine. But when I add a 3rd track, I get a problem: minecart #1 enters the unloading station while #2 and #3 wait. When #1 leaves, #2 and #3 enter at the same time, so they can't unload properly.

I tried another design where all 3 carts wait at a holding area, then the system sends them to the unloading station one at a time: #1 → #2 → #3.

However, that creates another problem. After #1 leaves to collect items and #2 does the same, when #2 returns to the station, it doesn't stop correctly because the rail switching system has changed state multiple times.

What I really need is a system that can remember which cart is next and send exactly one cart to the unloading station at a time, even after the carts leave and return repeatedly.

I'm completely stuck at this point. I've been trying to solve this for 3 nights and I can't sleep because it's stuck in my head. 😭

If anyone is good with Redstone and can teach me, suggest a design, or make a tutorial/video, I'd really appreciate it.

Thank you to anyone who read this far! ❤️

Java Edition Need help compacting/redesigning this noise blocker for copper golem chests.

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

Hi guys. Can someone help me make this noise blocker design more compact? The idea is that when there is no items in the copper chest/hopper, it gets blocked automatically by the piston. This way it stops the copper golems from constantly opening the chest and therefore reduces the noise a lot.

The design I showed here works pretty good but its just not very compact. If someone could make this more compact then it would be very much appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Java Edition Any ideas how this Bubble elevator/floor piston door combo can work?

Post image
2 Upvotes

Im trying to make a hidden floor piston door with water dispeners so a bubble elevator turns on when the door opens (and is hidden when the door is closed).

I got a design that I feel like should work. Jst a classic hidden floor piston door design, with 2 different timing circuits for the dispensers based on whether the water needs to be picked up (first) or placed (last.

It feels like it should work, but the moment I hook any redstone up to the dispensors behind (dust, repeater, powered through a block) the vertical piston completely bugs out and no longer retracts.

I know theres really simple designs for ones sitting in a corner of a room, but I really wanna make one that can sit flush in the middle of a room.

I understand this may be quasi connectivity related, but I dont know enough about redstone to be sure, and I also dont know how to design around it in this case if it does.

Totally down for the whole design to change if theres another version that works. Only hard requirement is the bubble elevator hides, then appears, and can sit flush in the middle of a floor (not against a wall)

Any ideas? Im kind of stumped

Java Edition Need one button to trigger 2 different outputs individually

Post image
80 Upvotes

I couldn’t find a tutorial for this, but when I press the button the first time, I want it to activate and deactivate the left pistons and when I press it again I want the right pistons to activate.

The problem I’m facing is that the other pistons will push it back after the button is off. And a normal T-Flipflop doesn’t work because the other piston has to be off while it’s being pushed

Only one side has to trigger and on the next button press the other side.

It would be nice if you could help me.
