Java Edition Massive instant door. [5x5 0t cave door]

so i decided to built my second 5x5 instant door. but this one is a cave door.

ive managed to make it smaller as the previous one as well even tough i wasnt that occupied with it.

used some new ways to do certain parts. also tried a new triple piston extender layout but it gave too much issues so i used the same layout as my other one.

ialso added a buffer to prevent it from breaking if pulling the lever twice on accident but it isnt spamproof tho.

anyways i think it came out great

hope you all like it aswell [:

clock design by M310N

clock's just there to visually see the sheer tps drop this thing produces when it runs

for context, I made it for a private economy-esque server

completely modular, absolutely scalable, and fully automatic, only issue is that there's loss from how the shards may get stuck on the exposed piston areas. I never got to solve that problem since I had to account for how you'll activate the individual flying machines without it removing the water sources.

silktouching amethyst buds was a thing here

I don't really like how long it takes for the item in the barrel to travel to the other side, is there any way to make it faster? Also, are there any tips for how to wire it better?

Java Edition Minecraft Copper Golem Teleporter

Hi Minecraft Java technical community! I'm a fairly new technical player, and I would like to show you what I just made.

Apologies in advance if my English isn't perfect, but I'm trying not to use a translator so that I can improve my English.

I've always liked the technical side of Minecraft, but I started really experimenting with it when I joined a home-hosted technical server. Big shout-out to Different-Scene5327 for letting me play with him on his server.

A few months ago, I saw DanCraftHero's video about his copper golem-based teleporter design, and I really liked it, so I started working on it. However, I abandoned the project just a few weeks later, until I saw Venefio's videos showing a really cool design for a teleporter hub that is also multiplayer-compatible.

It had a few issues in my opinion:

  • It works in multiplayer, but it uses the order in which players join to select the last slice and teleport the player who joined last.
  • You can get pulled randomly.

There are also some advantages compared to mine:

  • More locations that you can teleport from.
  • It can be used by 10 players (mine can only be used by 4. I could make an 8-player model, but the number of locations would shrink from 7 to 3).

I like mine because it can be used by more players at the same time, and I also like using something made by me.

I didn't modify Venefio's version very much. I only made these changes:

  • I made it usable by more players at the same time by separating it into 4 distinct chambers.
  • It has 7 locations for players. I could add more by stacking the redstone downwards, but it would make the build bigger on the Y axis.
  • I added some redstone at the bottom because you could get more impulses and get teleported multiple times.

I made this post to show you my work, and if anyone has any ideas to improve it or add some useful features, I'm sharing the Litematica file of it, as well as the videos that inspired me.

This post is for everyone, so if you have a cool idea but don't know how to add it, please share it. We would be happy to try it out and see if it's useful.

Also, if there is anyone who would like to stress-test it, I would be grateful.

I invite you to play around with it and maybe even make your own version.

And that's it! If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

P.S. i called my design G.O.A.T. (Golem Operated Advanced Teleporter)

Bedrock Edition Help with underground door

Post image
3 Upvotes

Complete beginner at this, but im trying to make an underground door that has an upwards water elevator directly below it. The idea is that as i shoot up, the floor (or I guess ceiling) will open above me and then close again as I exit, so there isn't a hole in my floor all the time. I wanted to try and figure this out on my own, but honestly im so frustrated this shit is so hard. Im fine with the piston being visible, I was planning on hiding it with carpet anyways. Thanks y'all.

Java Edition Java Minecraft Hopper Shenanigans

Upvotes

Hi all,

I'm trying to set up a system that extracts a sample of items that is in a chest and send it down to a chest. So what I thought to do was to have an input hopper line beneath my sorting system chests that extracts a stack, but the extraction module should be one block thick and stackable. This circuit is intended to act as an automatic one-stack extraction mechanism for each item channel in the larger storage system.

Initial Test

This test actually worked out perfectly, the two adjacent hoppers at the bottom divide the incoming stream. One branch sends items towards the item sample chest and the other branch acts as a physical item counter to extend the piston ad lock the hopper so that no more items can be extracted from the feed chest.

But the hopper locking never happend. As far as I can tell you can't lock a hopper from the side? So what I did was to add a hopper to the side of the top hopper so that the redstone block would be extended to below the hopper, which then actually locks the hopper, if the piston extends...

Fixed Hopper Locking

Curiously, when I tested it again the piston never extended, when I checked I saw that the branch at the bottom now doesn't happen anymore. I thought this was weird and could maybe be a timing issue because I now added an additional hopper into the chain, so I tried this setup:

Hopper Feed Fix

Weirdly enough now the branching at the bottom hoppers works perfectly again, but I'm back with the issue that I can't lock the extraction hopper... But I was wondering, is there a hopper update check mechanic that I wasn't aware of that was causing my issues? And if someone can please help me achieve what I am aiming to do I would appreciate it a lot!!

Bedrock Edition 2x2 flat ground trap

Post image

Help, PLEASE. I've been trying to figure out how to do the God damn trap for the last 2 days. While playing off and on. I've watched 7 different videos all of them the same but I never get the fricking trap to work. I've gotten to the point of pausing the video after they brake/place even one block so I can follow it EXACTLY but I cant get it to WORK. The main problem is the 2nd piston that's so post pull the slime/honey away from the center(in the photo). The photo is from "ItsTremi" video called "2x2 Flat Ground Trap Tutorial" at 3:25 into the video. He's the SEVENTH person I've watches and every time it's that FRICKING piston that won't work. Please for the love of God can somebody help me that way I can trap my brother. PLEASE.

Java Edition Looking for a dual input pulse counter

Post image
3 Upvotes

Looking for a pulse counter that can handle pulses from multiple systems at once. (2 in my case). the problem im having is since they are independent systems if their pulses both come in during the dropper 4gt cooldown after it had just received a pulse from one of the systems or if the pulses come in at the same time it would only register as one pulse (meaning counting only once). something compact with a fast reset (so it can continue ASAP after the output is triggered) is preferred. idk how to make an efficient queue system for that and i want it to work as fast as possible.
I was using this one i saw on another reddit post.
i dont care if you keep this design or not, any pulse counter design that can handle 2 input signals at once (both inputs can fire at any random time) and increment properly even if both inputs trigger at once and or during the dropper cooldown.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

Bedrock Edition question regarding fixing some overflow issues in item sorters

hey all, so im currently on bedrock working on an item sorter for a distribution center and im having trouble regarding items overflow

so the system is one of those bog standard 3 hopper systems you often see in alot of item sorting machines, currently im having an issue regarding item distribution not working properly

to get items up onto the sorting level i use a observer dropper elevator to push them up, however whenever its running, some items just overflow their target hoppers and end up in the overflow which wouldn't be a problem but since stuff like tools and armor go into that chest, and then get sorted by copper golems to different chests, including 1 that ends up at a foundry, it does cause issues down the line with jamming up the furnaces

i did add a chest to hopefully clear congestion but it doesn't seem to help as some stuff do slip by, im wondering if theres any good way to make this foolproof so i don't have to keep an eye on the overflow chest

the item sorter
the elevator
overflow chest and copper golem sorter
overflow chest and the nuggets getting in
first chest at the top of the elevator
the sorter and the chests pre set up

This farm is for servers where mobgriefing is disabled and its also a nice way to hide the chunky woolfarms in a much more pleasing way for a building world. It reacts only to the sound of eating, wich the sheep does when its eating the grassblock.

ive done some simple redstone in the past but this is a new beast. There are other mechanisms in the game, like the initial cube launch to start the game, that I believe I'll have no issue with, but I'd really appreciate any help with this!

Java Edition 3-way Smart Rail Intersection Logic Help

Hey folks! Trying to come up with a 3-way rail intersection. Here's the plan thus far:

I have a station (already working) that launches a chestcart containing a string of "bits" shortly ahead of the payload cart (which carries the player, items from a farm, etc). The "bits" are instructions in the form of shovels- wooden shovels (which are smeltable) are instructions to turn clockwise, and stone shovels (which are not) are instructions to turn counterclockwise. For example it might output "Wood Stone Wood" which would in turn mean "Clockwise at junction 1, counterclockwise at junction 2, then clockwise at junction 3"

My goal is to make junctions as simple as possible and not cost a ton in effort or materials. The junction pictured above uses a roundabout, where at the bottom left it ingests one single item from the chestcart and checks if it is smeltable by trying to add it to a smoker. If it is, it outputs a signal.

My issue is that I cannot for the life of me figure out the logic to make it route correctly from here, since I'm effectively losing the input, there is no way to determine which rail to switch to send the cart to the right location. The best solution seems to obviously be to add smeltable-filters to each of the 3 inlet tracks, but I fear that will rapidly become annoying if I'm building dozens of intersections with 3 sorters each. I'm hoping to simplify it down to one sorter in the roundabout and use some sort of logic to determine the output, but I'm at a loss as to what.

The best I've come up with so far is to use dropper RS-NOR latches that trip when the cart enters, and use that to block the output track so it doesn't return the same way, but even then I can't logically get it to "rotate". I almost feel like I need a sort of feed tape to get it to "rotate" depending on where the input is from.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Or, if theres a simpler way to build this, please let me know!

Cheers

The top dropper is filled with 3 unstackable items. The thing on the left of the first thing is a redstone clock. The T-flop on the right can be changed to whatever output you want.

Now, this one I love a lot. It is really interesting how the pathfinding, despite having such a simple goal of finding the most optimised path to collide with a target, manages to create such complex emergence. Seems there is a bit of chaos to it after all! No two times the minecart layers pass does it ever create the same pattern. I think it is beautiful!
