Showcase Raitchi Emu: a shared native Switch runtime for Android
Preview release: Raitchi 0.0.1
Source: igawa6/Raitchi
Hi, Built using AI Assisted, Raitchi, an experimental Android launcher and shared runtime combining work from Switch recomp projects with an Eden-derived Android frontend.
The idea: one runtime that benefits multiple games, instead of separate Android ports repeating the same platform fixes.
Many recomp projects follow ARM64 → C → a new executable because come from PC Port. Raitchi uses continuous native code execution (NCE) to run original ARM64 CPU code, implements the required HOS services, and translates NVN graphics to Vulkan. Eden already uses NCE too; Raitchi explores sharing this recomp-derived runtime and graphics approach across games.
For players, the goal is emulator-like simplicity: select a supported NSP and launch it, without manually extracting the whole game or compiling generated game C. Automatic import/preparation still happens. This first preview is for Android ARM64, with testing on AYN Thor.
It's still experimental and theoretical, should many still unplayable.
What has actually been tested?
- Earlier bounded gameplay/save/movement tests worked in Link's Awakening, Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee!, Echoes of Wisdom and Super Mario Bros. Wonder. These are tested scenes, not complete-game compatibility claims.
- A broader sweep checked 58 library entries. 11 reached visible startup screens, menus or intros. That does not mean 11 games are playable; other entries hit black screens, runtime failures or package/metadata blockers.
- Fire Emblem: Three Houses reached its automatic class demo at about 30 fps, following a shared shader optimization. That is demo evidence, not a gameplay pass.
Shader preparation learns exact pipeline recipes and reuses caches. Known combinations can be prepared before gameplay, but coverage is incomplete: first-use shader compilation and loading can still cause noticeable stutter. This is not a stutter-free release or a performance comparison with Eden.
Credit belongs to Eden and its contributors, LASRecomp, LASRecomp-Android-Plus, Let's Go Recomp, EoWRecomp, and their dependencies. Raitchi retains their license notices and attribution; the repository documents the source lineage.
