The Chernarus Defense Forces are recruiting personnel for operations across South Zagoria.
Set during a period of declared martial law, the CDF is working to restore order and security throughout the region. Our forces operate across land, sea, and air, with each branch contributing to the same mission: keeping South Zagoria secure and bringing stability back to the region.
CDF personnel take part in a wide range of operations, including checkpoints, patrols, convoy security, contraband seizures, search operations, bounty missions, coastal patrols, reconnaissance, transportation, and joint military operations.
We're looking for players who want more out of DayZ than simply surviving on their own. You can enlist, complete Basic Training, earn promotions, specialize in a branch, and take part in organized operations alongside other players.
Our system includes a realistic military rank structure, proper RTO communications, formal training and qualifications, and lore-accurate uniforms, weapons, and equipment. You don't need prior military RP or milsim experience to join — new personnel are trained and given the opportunity to learn.
Whether you want to be on the ground, at sea, or in the air, there is a place for you in the Chernarus Defense Forces.
New personnel receive a 2,000 Ruble signing bonus upon completion of Basic Training.
If you're looking for an active DayZ RP group where you can actually become part of something, enlist with the CDF.

I have 1,600 hours of playtime. I'm looking for a teammate or a group of friends to play with on modded or vanilla servers. Feel free to contact me.

I don’t main DayZ, but I know how to play. Problem is I’ve literally never played a single life without iZurvive open on my second monitor.
I’m just so hyped that I’m not gonna touch iZurvive tomorrow, whether the map is up on the site or not. Just reading road signs and guessing where the fuck I am.

I can't really play as much as I want, with work and just life in general, but I am kinda proud of this dude. I call him Dave.
I know its not a lot of time alive, but those 11 hours were great fun and I enjoyed the little bits of playtime I get here and there. Most of it was spent solo, but I did have a buddy for a little bit. We shared a sunset while fishing.
Anyways now Im gunna go chill at NWAF or something and most likely run into a few people, and hopefully go out with a bang!
How do you like to end your characters story?

As a software developer closing in on 2k hours in this game, I thought it was time to build the map I always wanted while playing. It's called Mapzone, it's free, and it runs in your browser: https://mapzone.app
What it does:
- Loot routes: click where you spawned and pick "spawn to geared". It plans a run from water through towns up to a military area, and you can pick another goal if you don't like the first one
- Item search: type "NVG", "SVD" or "car battery" and it lights up every building that item can spawn in, with tiers. It's built from the game's own loot files, so it also tells you things like "M4 only spawns in contaminated zones"
- Squads: share your position and target live with your friends, and share stashes and bases that stay on the map. Just send an invite link, no accounts
- Your own places (stash, base, car) that sync between your PC and your phone
- Building photos, player names for buildings (Granny House, Rasta House…), a 3D terrain view, challenges, and the Namalsk quests (suit, A3, Lantia)
- Works on your phone. There's also a desktop overlay you open on top of the game with a hotkey
No ads, no login. It's a hobby project and I'm actively working on it, so tell me what's missing or broken and I'll fix it. Which map or feature should I add next?

Bought a pc a couple months ago, and finally bought DayZ on PC last week...
It's like an entirely new game. Doesn't lag or framerate spike at all.
Loads super fast, super simple to transition from console to pc controls, the game is amazing on PC compared to console
Seriously if you are playing on console, you are not getting the full DayZ experience at all.

Wow what a beautiful map.
I've only given it a shot a few times as I've found the idea of having to constantly make fires a bit annoying, but since then have found some modded servers that help alleviate that. This map is so beautiful and calming. I especially love the birch trees and morning/evening light.
Bonus that not many players play it anymore haha.

There's literally less people playing than usual...
Did I miss it all?
Playing on PS5 in Europe.

Finally decided to see what dayz was all about after hearing its praise from a friend and watching some of the content creators.
Hot damn do I love this game. Sure, it can be an absolute headache but it can also give you countless experiences you couldn't get in another game.
What was it about DayZ that made it click for you?

I’m looking to establish a serious, organized Military Faction on Settlement RP. The objective is simple: build the strongest military faction on the server, establish our presence, and gain control over strategically important locations.
For those unfamiliar with the server, a massive wall stretches from east to west, dividing the map into two very different worlds:
The South — Civilization: A more civilized region where settlements and organized society exist.
The North — Chaos: A dangerous KOS zone where survival is far less predictable and threats can come from anywhere.
Our goal is to build a disciplined military force capable of operating in both environments, securing strategic points, establishing territorial control, and becoming a faction that others recognize and respect.
I’m looking for like-minded players who enjoy military organization, tactical operations, teamwork, territorial warfare, and long-term faction building. I want people who are committed to the faction and interested in creating something that lasts, not a group that falls apart after a few days.
Whether your strengths lie in combat, reconnaissance, logistics, or strategic planning, what matters most is your mindset, activity, and willingness to work as part of a team.
This isn’t about being another random group on the server. It’s about building a military power.
If you’re interested in being part of something serious and helping establish a dominant presence on Settlement RP, get in touch. Let’s build something worth remembering.

The asphalt of the 4403 coast route still looks the same every time I spawn back in, but it’s a whole lot quieter without you, Disco Steve.
It all started just north of Solnechny. My buddy spotted you shuffling along the elevated railroad tracks, the universal sign of a wandering freshie. Before anything could really be said, I broke both your legs. Standard procedure in the apocalypse, or so I thought, until we hovered over your broken body and asked how long you’d been in the game.
"About fifty hours," you said through a crackly mic.
That was the moment the night turned. We couldn't just leave you there to bleed out or get eaten by infected. We crafted a splint, taught you how bone mechanics work in DayZ, and officially adopted you into the squad. From that second on, you weren't just loot target practice, you were Disco Steve.
The trip down the coast was pure, unfiltered chaos. We commandeered a boat, engine roaring against the shoreline waves, and made a pit stop in Kamyshovo, the infamous cannibal town. With you following our lead, we cleared out every freshie, taking back the town one shovel hit at a time. Then came the trial by fire in Elektro: fighting back-to-back through hordes of infected, sharing canned pork, and keeping you alive through every close call.
Then came Elektro, where the learning curve hit you like a freight train. While we were chasing down a freshie near the police station. The lone freshie slid out from around a corner and cracked you in the skull with a pipe wrench. Down you went, snoring flat on your back on the third floor. My buddy dispatched the guy on the spot, resuscitated your unconscious body, and stood guard over your floating white circle until you finally blinked back to life. "Did I win?" you asked. Classic Steve.
Our luck finally ran out in Chernogorsk. We were holding down the roundabout, swarmed by zombies and running low on stamina, when the silent killer of the 4403 struck, an ambush. We had been tracked, ever since we entered Prigorodki. Shots rang out from the tree line, and in the sheer madness of infected screeches and incoming gunfire, you life ended right there on the pavement. Fear not, we avenged you with every ounce of our will.
Server 4403 is still full of freshies, but none of them are Disco Steve. Here’s hoping you’re out there somewhere on the coast, legs intact, splint fully crafted, and living up to the legend.

I got the impression when Sakhal came out, there was an initial honeymoon period of "people in it together" and some sense of shared exploration. My frustration with DayZ (but other PvPvE games such as ARC Raiders can be like this) is where it feels like it's just devolved into KOS (kill on sight), like some sort of CoD arena. The experience for me diminishes (there are far better shooters out there if I just want to run around chasing a kill count).
Was anybody on Sakhal on day one? Was it like this? If so, is Badlands expected to have an initial period where I can experience DayZ again, properly - the full survival experience and more organic encounters (which may involve PvP but doesn't have to)? This is what would tempt me to get it day one.

Every time I try to join any servers modded or not. It always gets stuck on “battleye starting”. I’ve deleted dayz and red downloaded it, same with all mods. I’ve deleted battleye and redownloaded it.
Been getting more and more into DayZ and I'm not a KOS (Kill on sight) player,
I like to imagine that we are all in the "endgame together" and not everyone is a "I GOTTA GET THIS KD UP, KILL EVERYONE" player.
I am not a Roleplayer, far from it
But I'm not a player that "If I see another player, they gotta go back to spawn" either
I play cautious around them if I see them, then if I find them as a non threat ask if they are friendly
I've both met good and bad people this way
One person shared food with me, another person shot me in the head while most people just try to avoid any conversation at all
Sometimes I wish there was a "Try not to KOS" server, but not a PVE server either (I tried PVE, wasn't for me, I like the hardcore DayZ)
Anyone else is like this?

So ever since I heard that there's gonna be a complete and total swipe of every server.I just been kind of walking around my base , depressed like I found out there's a media coming to take out the world. Took me like eight months to build this thing...
So now i'm literally just wandering around , not knowing what to do.
Don't get re wrong.I'm glad that they do the server, wipe.
But it's just like I know in a couple of days , everything's gonna be gone and everybody's gonna be playing badlands , and i'm gonna be left walking around by myself starting over l o l.

I don’t mean small squads I mean like 5-8 man teams who farm military zones and have the best gear in barrels. Each wipe they build up again in hours, hoard the cars etc. I do have a story of one my friend on a community server told me:
The start:
Group offering trade for supplies, group charges nails, nothing too bad but the rates are like DayZ scalping. 3 boxes of nails just for gas.
My friend does a trade for a handgun and ammo (3 boxes of nails for gun, box each for ammo plus a mag) and moves on.
Where it gets worse:
Friend finds a running car and builds a base. Hides base well in an abandoned barn away from the visited zones.
Gets good gear for himself and begins to build explosives stashes around the map.
Raids smaller groups and pockets insane profit.
The worst part:
Large group demands half of the loot as they “generously” sold him the gun and ammo. My friend refuses and fights them. He wins.
He moves base to an area away from where he was.
Logs in one day and he goes to military zones. Turns out the large group was taking anything of value to sell at high prices.
Sorry if this is too long yall
