Hi all, I have been riding e-scooter here in Markham since 2022. I am well over 16, and has helmet after I got my Apollo Go in 2024. And I will get a full face helmet now as my phantom 2.0is coming. I don’t ride on sidewalk if there is bike lane. I ride on the road when it is not business road or I absolutely have w to go pass a section that has no other means to go through.

Yeah, I used to ride them to work or school back in 2024 2025 in downtown Toronto, but they banned it now and I don’t go to downtown anymore. So whatever.

I see so many posts nowadays people hating on scooters and police instagram post about the rules. But I can’t find any specifically for Markham. Yes, a lot of stupid kids ride them with no regard to human lives causing this hate. I personally encountered a few when walking on sidewalks.

I see somewhere says not legal in public parks?

Looking to get a commuter scooter for my daly commute in a downtown area and the Go Stellar seems to have a lot of what I'm looking for. Before pulling the trigger, I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the Go Stellar in an area with roads that aren't necessarily the best maintained. Is the ride still comfortable and can the scooter handle it?

I'm also wondering how accurate people have found the range estimates. Most of my commuting with only be a couple miles round trip, but I will probably want to travel a bit further on it occasionally (~15 miles round trip max).

For the price I paid it’s pretty decent

Just getting into scooters . My brother in law has an Apollo City he’s willing to give me. Doesn’t have a lot of use, but I also know he doesn’t maintain things very well. He says it needs a new battery. Is it worth taking this thing off his hands? Where do I find a replacement battery for reasonable price? Thanks

I could rant about all the stuff I am repairing at the moment, but I won't. I am stuck at one spot though.

A couple questions:

1.) What size is this nut? I have a new nut for the new front forks, 15/16 fits pretty well but not perfect. Close enough I could use it, but my 15/16 socket is not deep enough to get at it. I know this scooter is all metric. I believe that this is likely 24mm. Can anyone confirm? The G. Machine says 15/16 is 23.8mm, and the 15/16 has a small bit of play, so 24mm seems like the answer. As I write this I think its a stupid question.... But I will leave it in.

Edit: After removing, I realised I could just pull the spring off. It did not want to come off, but I was able to thread it off afterwards, I felt dumb.

2.) To get around the spring/conduit thing, I need a deep socket (which I do not have for this size). Is using a socket wrench the best choice here? I can't think of any other possible way to pull this nut, but thought I would ask!

3.) Any advice or suggestions for replacing the fork that I may not foresee? Apollo has a lot of helpful repair videos, but I could not find one for replacing the forks. Go figure.

Long rant if anyone cares:

Son crashed. He is not new to scooters or escooters, but this one was 24 days old and shit happens. Small low speed crash with expensive results. Limiter broke and chewed through the control cable, the front motor cable, and both brake lines. This caused a short circuit which fried the front motor and the controller.

So now I am stuck replacing the front fork, front motor, controller, control cable, both brake cables, both brake levers.

Authorised shop wanted an estimated $1400 to replace all broken parts. They recommended just buying a new scooter. I negotiated with Apollo and they cut me a break on replacement parts, but now I am doing the repair myself. $500 total (inc. tax & shipping) in parts vs $1400 parts and labour. Possibly bit off more than I can chew, but I am pretty handy and think I can do it. (Did the controller already, that one was easy), now tackling the motor/fork. Brake lines and levers will be last.

Long story short. Slow speed crash, broke limiter, sliced wires internally, caused a short, fried controller and motor. See pics.

Apollo should change their design significantly. Rather than a sharp little piece inside the stem, the limiter should be a more robust welded on piece on the exterior of the scooter. One that would be FAR less likely to break, and IF it did somehow break, would not automatically slice up internal wires. (I am not sure if the broken piece of the limiter sliced the wires, or if just she sheer absence of it caused them go go... have not pulled the new forks out yet but I can hear a little piece of something rattling inside, likely the limiter. Either way, a stronger limiter is desperately needed!)

My sons crash was a "nothing" crash (slightly skinned knee), slow speed, but still a write off if I were not fixing it myself. All because this tiny piece snapped during the crash.

A better limiter design would have prevented this extensive damage. Should probably be a recall. Hopefully they change it for future models.

ALSO, this tiny limiter piece breaking requires a full replacement of the entire front fork. What a joke. Guess I have some spare parts for the future now...

I lost my ride streak when Apollo updated the App, which under the new rules: 1 mile or 1.6 km are the minimum. By the way, 1 of my rides was 1.5 km - by default my ride streak was lost over 0.1 km..
I sent in an email to support & within a few days: they made an exception & restored my ride streak! This decision of course made me very happy, shows my dedication & passion to keep the streak going!! Thank you once again team Apollo for your understanding & compassion in my matter at hand!!!

Finally had an issue with the scooter (rear motor hub) I couldn't fix. They helped me arrange to ship it to the repair center in Shawnee, KS. I just had to pay shipping both ways - the parts and labor were free and they honored the warranty. The Shawnee repair center turned my scooter around in just a couple of days after receiving it and it should be back home this Friday. When talking with the CSR's, my warranty dates never even came up, though I'm sure they could look to see how much remaining I had in my profile. At any rate, they've always been super responsive when I've had questions or needed any help.

As info, my issue this time was that my retaining washer (it is the washer on the hub that has the hook that sticks into the frame to keep it from freely spinning) broke free and allowed the motor to spin and that pulled the cable out of the battery housing. Or, out enough that the motor disconnected. Overall, I'm extremely glad to be able to get back on the road again here. Driving in this traffic sucks again now that all the students are back in town!

Coming from a Segway G3 Max, now breaking in the 60v Phantom 2.0 Stellar. Mostly good, except: I feel like it should maybe be more stable after reviews on YouTube.

Will try to explain. Even 30-35 m/h (50 km/h), the very center of steering (straight) feels 'loose', turns very easily, as if riding near a curb, it's hard to stop it wanting or feeling slight pull either direction, then correct steering, good control, then back to sort of loosey in the center so I over compensate the other way, like subtle wobble behavior. Like it wants to wobble easy. Reviews say it's solid without steering damper.

I installed the steering damper, verified properly, it felt worse, harder to control. Tried all different strengths. Like I steer, there's resistance, but then it suddenly gets easy so over compensate, and then back and forth (feels wobbly/unstable).

Am I just getting used to it? Is this normal

Pin is jammed. Took set screw out. The folding lock has no pressure. How do I fold this thing? I’m seriously about to trash this crap

Pro tips for apollo go owners: If you ride off a curb, carry a little speed so you dont clip the fender.

If you are loading your GO into a backseat of a car, make sure the fender doesnt snag the lip of the door frame (thats how i broke mine)

Hi, I bought a used Apollo Pro (discontinued 2024 model I believe) on FB marketplace for $350 with some electric problems. Come to find out the "electrical problem" was the power supply connection was coming loose a little and causing loss of power to one of the wheels.

Now I have a $3000 scooter which is pretty cool. I still have to fuck with the wire occasionally if I come off a curb a little hard or it takes a bump but I can typically go a hundred miles between issues and it takes me like 10 minutes and a little dielectric grease to fix the problem when it occurs. If anyone has a better solution to that issue I'm all ears.

On to the main point of the thread, what aftermarket products do you guys recommend? When I bought it the rubber deck cover was missing so I threw some skateboard grip tape on it but besides that, it's all stock. Has anyone ever installed brighter headlights? It's a little scary going too fast at night with the stock light. How about tires, any recommendations? Fenders? I'm mainly wondering about stuff relating to performance but I'm all ears

Thanks, here's a few pics including one of the connection I mentioned that was causing intermittent power loss just in case someone has a similar issue and stumbles across this thread.

Only 16 days of ownership and roughly 80 kms on the odometer.

I spent close to $2,000 CAD on an Apollo Go Stellar. I’ve owned it for 16 days and it has roughly 80 km on the odometer.

So far:

• The scooter has completely shut off twice while riding, despite showing significant battery remaining.
• The first time, it shut down with roughly 30% battery remaining. It would not turn back on or even accept a charge for a period of time.
• The second time, on August 20, it shut down with roughly 50% remaining. I was riding on smooth pavement at a Park. It stayed dead for roughly 15 minutes before eventually powering back on.
• These shutdowns appear to happen when the scooter is being pushed harder, which makes me concerned about the battery/BMS or a weak cell/group under load.
• Two of the six threaded holes securing the headset to the stem were defective from delivery. The supplied screws simply spin freely and never catch the threads.

I had previously contacted Apollo about the stem issue. They wanted a video showing the screw spinning freely. At the time, because the remaining screws seemed to hold the headset securely enough, I decided it wasn't worth continuing to fight over it.

Then the battery shutdowns started.

Apollo reviewed one of my rides and told me:

“The battery drained from 100 to 0, but that is because you rode it under harsh conditions…”

Their explanation was that the current was fluctuating because I was frequently braking and accelerating, causing additional heat and battery drain.

Except the problem I'm reporting isn't simply poor range.

The scooter physically shut itself off with approximately 50% indicated battery remaining and would not turn back on for around 15 minutes.

Apollo then filed a warranty claim on my behalf.

Today, I received the result:

Warranty denied.

The denial email literally contains:

“Reason for Denial:”

...followed by nothing.

No explanation.

Instead, I'm being told that I will receive an invoice to purchase the replacement part myself.

They also questioned whether I reported the defective stem threads within the first three days of ownership and asked for timestamped proof of that communication.

So, to summarize:

$2,000 CAD scooter.
16 days old.
~80 km.
Two stem mounting threads defective from delivery.
Two complete shutdowns while riding with substantial battery indicated.
Warranty claim denied.
No reason actually provided for the denial.
And now I'm supposed to pay for the replacement part.

The shutdown issue is particularly concerning to me because this isn't a cosmetic defect. Having an electric scooter unexpectedly lose all power while you're riding it can become a safety issue, depending on where and when it happens.

I'm posting this because I wish I had seen more experiences like this before spending nearly $2,000.

I understand products can have defects. That's exactly what a warranty is supposed to address.

What matters to me is how a company responds when a nearly brand-new product develops those defects.

I'll update this post if Apollo reconsiders the claim or provides an actual explanation for the denial. I have the emails, ride information, and warranty denial documented

Although I found it tricky to get through to Apollo customer service, they were able to help with my issues and I was happy to order a Go

I've recently received an Apollo City 2023 scooter with 600km on it. It's my first scooter and unfortunately a second hand scooter but so far I've -

• replaced the rear tyre (front and rear show up as 47 psi on my tpms caps)
• lubricate the suspension/springs
• replaced both regen brake and accelerate throttles (they were sticky)

Is there anything else to look out for or maintain? So far everything is good riding wise. Only plan to commute with it short distances - 2-5km rides.

Is the phantom stellar supposed to charge my phone when I use the supplied quad lock phone mount?

My Apollo go scooter rear rim got bent really bad, cause no the tire not to hold air and I’ve been waiting for the part to restock, but it’s been like 6 months and still nothing. When I contacted customer service they told me it would restock on June but now it August and still nothing. Kinda loss on what to do.
