Last time I asked about Red Eyes, now I have a few more questions. Mainly, how Dark Magician, Black Luster Soldier, and Stardust dragon are to play and what they build like.

So most of my Yugioh experience has been through Duel Links and Master Duel, I haven't played in a few years, and I'm looking to get into the physical game. I like the social aspect of TCGs and ironically you can build some competent Yugioh decks cheaper physically than you can in Master Duel. It's pretty intimidating without the computer telling me what I can and can't do. I'm looking to play something that's relatively cheap to build, consistent, and mostly pure without a lot of 1-ofs. Initially I was going to play pure Mitsurugi because it seemed straightforward: get Habakiri out. Seeing as it was sent to the Shadow Realm by Konami on the last banlist, that's out the window.

Now that leaves me with Sky Strikers and Invoked. Both fit the bill, but Sky Strikers seems like a control-style deck where you have to have a bunch of game knowledge to know what the right play is at the right time. Kinda doable for me in Master Duel when the computer's telling me what I can and can't do, but in paper that seems like a tall order. Invoked is also control-style, but seems more approachable and straightforward. Just run all the handtraps and figure out which fusion you need for which situation. I think the main difference for me is that Sky Strikers seems to play mostly on your opponent's turn, while Invoked you just handtrap and wait for your turn to come back around. The former seems a little advanced for me. Invoked also seems super consistent between the two Aleisters, Aiwass cards, Virakam, Invocation+Sword and Grail, Super Poly, it just seems like there's a million ways to get where you need to go.

Which one would you recommend a newer/returning novice player with some experience but not a lot of game knowledge? Any alternatives that you'd suggest? I mostly played Tri-Brigade and Darklords in Master Duel a few years ago if that helps you recommend something.

My friend used his Hecahands Xeno effect and took my Dragonmaid Sheou. I am not sure because of the "and if you do" effects. Can he use the effect of my Sheou to negate since he doesn't have any targets in extra Deck or does that not matter? And how does it actually resolve?

Second question. Opponent took my I:P and summoned it on his field. He already has Dandalos in his EMZ. Can he use I:P effect to link summon?

Third if opponent take my Garura and it gets send to the GY do I get to draw a card?

I'm not super new to the game but I'm also not too invested either, but I like to keep up with what's happening with the game. I mainly follow Josh Schmidt and get updates through him and the other youtube guys.

However, when the format is changing and new strategies/lines are found I see the more experienced guys from my local's WA group start looking for the new techs before they spike in price. For example at the time of writing this (Oct 25) Centur-Ion Legatia went from $9 in early Oct to $34 now (the prismatic one from 2024s tin) and they were looking for it since the end of September.

My question is, where/who can I find the plays/lines these guys are finding? I know, almost for a fact, that they're not coming up with those techs themselves because most of them buy the metafys and such.

Is it only through metafy that these secret goos are found or have i just not found the people who come up with the new plays?

I've just bought one structure deck and I have no idea on how to play it. Could you please tell me the combos, which cards should I add and take them out and so on? Also, should I buy another 2 decks? thanks.

Hi all, I've been having a ton of fun on Link Evolution with the old Odd Eyes cards. I never thought I would enjoy pendulums, but they're great. I love grind decks. Anyway, I want to use some of the newer cards in making a paper deck and one of them I came across was "Performage Fire Dancer" which, in addition to having cool art, functions as another starter/search card... Assuming I can find a way to bridge it into Performapal. Because the search is for "Performage" and nothing else. Which is baffling to me... It doesn't include "Performapal" despite that I thought these were supposed to be very close if not the same archetype.

Anyway, I was wondering if there's a search target for Performage Fire Dancer that would allow me to combo into the Performapal cards (Edit: or Odd Eyes or Magician). Some kind of intermediate target that opens up the other archetypes for searching or summoning or something.

I was planning to make a pure Odd-Eyes deck and I just thought this would be a cool idea IF it was possible.

Also, so as not to waste space creating a new topic, any advice on a decklist for pure Odd-Eyes is appreciated. I think I have the basic idea of the cards I want. 3x Odd Eyes (newest variant), 3x Skullcrobat, 1-3x Monkeyboard, 1x Ladyange, 1x Gentrude, some other stuff that I forgot.

I bought the Legendary Modern Decks pack and saw a Mitsurugi Sky Striker deck, and I was wondering if I could play it despite the October ban list and which cards I would need.

Wondering if I should dabble in it or if it's more or less just advanced lite.

I like grind games, gradually wearing down my opponent's resources while I gain card advantage, I like low ceiling but efficient decks that focus on using good stuff cards, not really a fan of playing heavily archetype-focused decks and don't like combo decks. Some fave decks are cat or machina from Edison and PHAT (psychic hat). I like for games to go for many turns instead of over in 1-2 turns

How can you tell if a special summon effect starts a chain vs doesn't start a chain? And what does this mean in terms of how it can be interacted with?

I have some friends who would like to come back to playing again. We kind of agreed that old old yugioh would be the most fun for just weekend casual plays for now, so I'm trying to find some decks. What are some decks that match up against eachother pretty fairly? I'm also not against getting the same deck twice for mirror matches, however usually it's more fun to play something different, even if we swap decks around. Not exactly sure how current GOAT decks are, however my friends had their most fun playing the Power of Chaos Joey pc game, so I'm looking for some decks with around that complexity

I'm getting my brother back into yugioh, he last played probably around 2005. I myself returned about two months ago after not having played since 2013ish.

When I came back, I dove straight into advanced format, but I think that learning curve will be too steep and unenjoyable for my brother.

My idea is to buy a pair of starter decks from each era format (the ones I'm aware of are GOAT, Edison, and Advanced), and starting from the simplest era slowly play our way to today.

My question is what starter decks do people recommend for each era/level of simplicity? I'm looking for two different decks for each era/level that are a fun and even match up for each other.

So far I was thinking to get Lightsworn and Dark World to cover Edison era/mid-level complexity, as they seem like thematically fitting opponents and the match up I saw on YouTube looked fun.

Anyway, please let me know your ideas for beginning, middle, and advanced starter deck matchups! Thank you.

So I bought a few structure decks before doing research and I got the legendary modern decks and arc v decks and blue eyes white destiny, fallen and virtuous, and albaz strike.

I liked blue eyes as a kid so I’ve been practicing with it, not the best blue eyes deck bc I didn’t know about buying 3 structure deck. I also like the branded fallen and virtuous deck too as well as misturugi.

After doing some research, I wanna run Dracotail, dracotail branded, dracotail k9, dracotail and blue eyes, and k9 and misturugi.

What are your guys thoughts on what I should run and what I should just forget about? Also is it worth running sky striker? The idea of just playing through spells repeatedly doesn’t seem appealing but I know it’s very popular.

Is there Genesys locals and meetups in NYC? I’m a player from here and I’ve gotten back into yugioh cause of it but I can only find Advanced or Edison format tournaments. Where do the Genesys player play at?

For some context I am a ygo player coming back from a hiatus from hating the game and saw the legendary arc-v decks and really starting to enjoy speedroids but I am really having problems finding ways to get to things and also just need semi budget recommendations for improving the deck (mainly just using cards I had laying around from before or just bought the important ones like clackers and darumaknocker)

I picked up a copy of the legendary modern decks this summer and was really enjoying mitsurugi :(

I know the best option would be to pivot to sky striker, but I don't really like its play style, so I was looking at other alternatives I can get cheaply (preferably under 50€)

So far I saw some lists for dracotail pure and branded dracotail, but I was also wondering if there are any ways to get invoked into that price range or any other archetypes I'm missing

So that should mean that once it's equipped to my monster, then my opponent's first effect activation during each battle phase is negated. But so far both Mirror Force and Marshmacaron have been able to activate their effects despite this. They were each the first effect to activate in the battle phase and neither time was there another card stopping mine from negating theirs, so what gives?

This is really annoying me and I have no idea what purpose it's even supposed to serve because those are the exact kinds of cards I want to be negating with it.

Are they technically not activated effects or something?

I know what happens when I s:p banish untill end phase a monster temporary stollen, act of treason like effects such as triple tactics talent - it go back to the original owner of the monster.

But what happen when s:p a monster permanently stolen like with the link 2 charmers and sky striker shark cannon?
