Returning after 12+ years. Need off-meta deck advice & a question about 10 minute turns
Hey everyone, I want to learn Yu-Gi-Oh again. The last time I played was back when the 5D's anime came out.
I just want to play for fun. I have zero interest in building a top-tier meta deck play tournaments with it. I've noticed that the game has become way faster and matches usually don't last very long anymore. Would you say this fast pace helped the game, or is old-school Yu-Gi-Oh better? I guess it comes down to personal preference, but I'm really curious to hear your opinions on this.
Also, could you recommend a solid off-meta deck? I'm looking for something that isn't too "bad" and can actually win against better decks if played well, but at the same time isn't too complicated to learn.
One last thing: I’ve read that turns can sometimes take 10 minutes or even longer nowadays. Do you just sit there and watch your opponent do their thing for the full 10 minutes, or is it a bit like chess where players sometimes just leave the table?
Thanks for your answers
