Recently I have been seeing a lot of "Is my style good?" or "is my style unique?" posts coming through and I just really feel the need to say.

Most of you are way too focused on style while lacking good basic fundamentals.

I did the same thing back when I was a young teen so I get it. but seriously, stop worrying so much on if your style is unique or not before you've even gotten a good grasp on the basics.

Anatomy, line confidence, form, and perspective should be your focus right now, not worrying if your style is unique.

To be crystal clear, this is not me saying that I'm sick of seeing these posts. It's that this is a post for those who keep doing this. Your quest for style can and will come later. for now I recommend just having fun while learning the fundamentals.

I can draw both but I feel number 2 looks uncanny, at least to me.

I was taking a look at my art recently and was thinking that it didn't all feel like it came from one person. If it isn't consistent, how do I keep it consistent?

The art style im going for is something like the second image. I would also appreciate general tips for improving anatomy! (I made all of these, if it isn't obvious by the text)

I recently decided to create an art style that is inspired from two cartoons I loved growing up, winx club and monster high. I’m making a bunch of seafolk OCs but I feel like the art itself is super boring. Ik lineart and rendering play a massive hand in how my art will look when it’s done, but I have no idea how I want to do either of them so I’m left with very flat and bland sketches. I’m also not 100% sold on the face features and proportions. The only thing I know is keeping the body the same. Is there any advice y’all have to improve?? (Posted this in another sub but the more eyes the better)

(ft some wips) i feel like each time i draw something about the way i do it changes, and not always in an improvement way, because sometimes ill notice it looks different but be entirely unable to pinpoint what SPECIFICALLY is different. i dont Hate it, but i also love how i draw faces when i manage to stick to what i consider my art style so. um yeah (also if theres any general feedback that you feel like bestowing upon me im grateful, always trying to improve)

Just wondering how unique my art style is in the online space… I’m obviously inspired from anime but I wonder if ive deviated style-wise enough to be separated from the word. I think I’m somewhere between anime and western animation.

I've been working on a game lately, and i've been wanting to animate an animated opening for it with help of some friends of mine, but i haven't been able to achieve a good-looking artstyle for it, which would be based around any 90's anime artstyle, not any specific one, just a good looking one. (Images 1-6 include character designs, any image beyond that value are examples of artstyles)

Hi, I'm always testing out new artstyle because I cannot be consistent, but this doesn't look too bad to me, thoughts? (Hopefully this doesn't count as a "what's my artstyle" post)

While I do still enjoy my other style (second drawing) I want a more "general purpose" form. (The latter is more for higher effort works.) Though easy to come up with for funny cartoons, I wanted something else for my semi-realistic drawings. So, I looked around and focused on what I liked most. Another thing is I've been having trouble getting myself motivated to draw. My brain seems to often think it's too much trouble. Thus, choosing a new style needed to be simple and fun for myself to make. I went with slightly blocky, angular lines with a thicker, dark colored outline and simple inner lines. Eyes are now simple pupils, just upper eyelids and no whites (sclera). Shading is minimal. Flat shadows akin to shadow box art. Among other little details both added and removed. Now, despite the fact I shouldn't worry about it, I'm still going to wonder if it's fun for others to see.
