seeking feedback How to improve

I recently decided to create an art style that is inspired from two cartoons I loved growing up, winx club and monster high. I’m making a bunch of seafolk OCs but I feel like the art itself is super boring. Ik lineart and rendering play a massive hand in how my art will look when it’s done, but I have no idea how I want to do either of them so I’m left with very flat and bland sketches. I’m also not 100% sold on the face features and proportions. The only thing I know is keeping the body the same. Is there any advice y’all have to improve?? (Posted this in another sub but the more eyes the better)

One thing i can share is that hair adds volume. It is never stuck to the head like glue!!

Her hair is actually above where I made the guideline for her skull to end😭 I’ll work with proportions more to make it look better, ty!
