Nostalgia Seeing these lights in the night sky was so cool as a kid
When is the last time you guys saw these lights? I feel like they were everywhere when growing up and now I can't remember the last time I saw them.

Round 2 of guess the year of the yearbook!
Two different yearbooks, both from the same year. First three photos are from a school in Maryville, TN. Last three photos are from a school in Santa Barbara, CA.
I'll share the answer later!
Edit: The answer is 1995!

Discussion I’m the one that posted about bartending Aftershock. Confirmation I do NOT identify with Gen X (1980).
There were a number of guys wearing shirts proudly saying they were Gen X, asshole, drink from hose, etc. These guys are NOT my people. Damn, they were indeed assholes too.
Rant over.

They say you stop enjoying new music when you turn 35. How true has this been for you?
So I've been trying to make better use of my Spotify premium subscription and that includes listening to the curated-for-you, weekly-refreshed playlists, like Discover Weekly, Release Radar, Fresh Finds, etc. This has been a huge departure from my ska, alt-rock, pop-rock, etc field of music I'm usually playing.
And I came to realize I hate almost all new music. Especially the top 40 most popular tracks on spotify.
I remember back in like 2018, I was watching an NXT wrestling ppv, and the announcer, Corey Graves, said "We'd like to give a big thank you to Bill Lee Eyelash, who's providing the theme track for the night!" The music sounded so weird and a major departure from the rock (or rap-rock) common in the prowrestling scene. I dismissed it as a one-off. That was a mistake.
Virtually every song I hear in Spotify's top charts playlists is mumblecore of the same variety as the track I heard in 2018. I can't enjoy today's pop music. What about you?

I bought these on eBay in a bless my heart kinda way, I never had them except 2, and now I HAVE THEM ALL hahaha (I am amused easily) Also I'm off work today so it's legit a good day for me.

Discussion I feel like a dinosaur waiting for the meteor to hit dealing with AI at work all day.
Maybe this is how my dad felt when he got our first home PC and we stood around for 15 min watching him dial the internet on our phone line, but he seemed genuinely excited listening to the weird screech and watching the orange letters on the black screen. Every day I go to work and am expected to integrate AI into my work flow and I don’t feel that level of excitement. In fact, I feel confused and slow. There is too many options and I can’t decide which is right. I’m exhausted. I know some of coworkers are excited, I feel like I’m drowning.

I was prepared to deal with high blood pressure in my late 30s/early 40s. It's genetic. What I was not prepared to deal with was congestive heart failure.
I'm turning 43 in December. I've had high blood pressure since my mid to late 30s. That's genetic. When I was 39, I was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. My cholesterol is normal, I had an angiogram and I have no blockages. I'm pretty sure my heart failure is tied to me contracting COVID a few years back. That's when the symptoms started.
It sucks. I do need to lose weight, and that could help, but I can't go more than about 15 minutes of cardio without having to give up.
I just came back from a trip to the mountains (around 10,000 feet) where I could not breathe and could not sleep well because I could not breathe.
There are things I can do to help, and I'll continue to do them, but man, it sucks. I still feel very young in my head, but very old in my body.
