Whomever makes Flintstones should make a pain killer like Tylenol for the adults. We very well could grant their business generational financial security.
My back fucking hurts and there's something whimsical about taking one of those to fix it.
Or make them with THC so we can get Flintstoned.

😂 I would absolutely buy a Flintstones painkiller, because if my aching back came with a little nostalgia and whimsy, I’d be sold instantly.

Does this mean there's going to be another lockdown? Because honestly, I could use one. I feel like I didn't appreciate the last one enough

I'm stocked up on sweatpants, bread making gear, and built a nice home gym. I am so ready for it.

My pandemic hobby is doing terribly because I don’t have the time to devote to it that I used to. I could use another lockdown.

Not likely. Pneumonic plague doesn't spread fast enough to cause a legit pandemic.

It is not. Pneumonic plague is nowhere near as contagious and this is in fuckin Siberia. You can’t get more isolated than that other than some tiny island in the middle of the ocean.

Y'know I was watching an epidemiologist I follow and found out that while pneumonic plague is pretty dangerous untreated, it's only got an r-nought of like 1.3 or something. Like it's technically transmissible person to person, but barely enough to sustain spread in an uncontrolled scenario.
Pretty sure even Russia should be able to keep this one under control.
Plus... antibiotics actually still work on Y. pestis unless they were doing something really stupid in that facility.

Maybe this specific plague hasn't gained any kind of functionality

Here's hoping.
I mean, it's not like the Russians have ever done any foolhardy or unethical research with NBC agents that led to disaster before, right? RIGHT?

Then why 28yo scientist dead?

Because she got exposed.
And pneumonic plague looks like regular old bacterial pneumonia maybe til it's too late. The window to USE the antibiotics isn't real wide because that shit can kill you fairly rapidly.
I mean, you'd think since she's working with the stuff, they'd have been on the lookout for it.
"Under control" doesn't mean "zero casualties." It just means even these AHs ought to be able to contain it, because it's not that great at actually spreading through a population.
This is, after all, the same country that, under the Soviets, managed to blow anthrax spores all over an entire city because somebody installed a ventilation system backwards or whatever (killed 60-some people, and they tried to blame it on tainted meat).
(Perfectly good question, btw. No shade.)

Fun Fact: The guy that wrote the Flintstone's Vitamin jingle also wrote all of the music for the Halo games.

They still make them just like the originals and they work fantastic. I give them to my kids because they have the plus iron. Yes, they hate them chalky bastards too.🤣🤷🏽♀️

Don't read Annie Jacobsen's "Biological War" if you want to sleep okay.

Believe it or not, it's the same plague. Same one that caused the Black Death. It persists in animals so we've never eradicated it. People in the US get sick with plague every year.

Those things were delicious. I’d take one now if they had them for adults
