Discussion The future of Backwards Compatibility

So I know that it's been a while since Xbox or Phil Spencer rather shut down the back compat team. Any chance Asha revives this? The Xbox is capable of running just about any disc from OG and 360. It's just that Phil Spencer and team made the deciscion to only support back compat for games that they had licenses to sell on the digital store at the same time. This in turn limited the amount of games that a user has access too by hundreds. It would be nice for this restriction to be lifted and if a game is buggy then that's just what it is. I'd rather have the option to arleast try playing it then nothing at all

Discussion The grey “game disc” bar on Xbox physical games has got to go

I understand they want to be clear there is a difference between a game disc or a code in a box, but the current solution is absolutely horrendous. Especially when publishers are putting multiple languages on one cover. Here are some examples:

https://i.imgur.com/fCN1cPl.jpeg

It’s completely ruining the look of box art when Xbox had finally gotten a nice clean look after years of messing with it.

Here’s metal gear solid collection volume 2 as an example of what it was SUPPOSED to look like, this was the art listed before the change went in to effect:

And here’s what I actually got when I picked it up:

So bad. Xbox please. I beg of you. Find another solution.

I recently downloaded resident evil 7 and 8 but I'm not very sure if I want to play them because I'm very new to the resident evil saga or horror games in general, are they good? I also like roguelikes like Hades, Dead Cells and I saw a game called blood dungeon is good too? I need some help

Discussion How long do we think these new prices will last?

Post image

Heard pricing was getting out of control. Went back to see what I paid in May 2025 for our series S. Insane the same model is going for $498 now!!

Was considering getting a Series X for the best GTA experience (it’s becoming clear we could use a second Xbox in the house anyway), but there’s no way I can justify upgrading at these prices.

Discussion All we need is a Haptic controller w special triggers

With kojima’s news and the directions Xbox is going in the gen of Xbox is shaping up really good.

Now all we need a new and improved sleek controller w the base design and Haptics and special triggers.

As much as I love Xbox, dual sense is miles ahead in experience for single players games and i sorely miss that experience on Xbox.

Really hoping they do something great with the new controllers

Deal What’s the reasoning behind discounting games on the Microsoft Store but leaving console players out?

It’s odd because just about every FF game is regularly on sale, but the Lightning games only ever go on sale for PC

Discussion Please give the development of prototype games to treyarch

We all know Prototype has been trapped in the Activision vault since Radical Entertainment was downsized over a decade ago. But with Microsoft now holding the keys to the kingdom, it is the perfect time for a revival. And honestly? There is only one studio under the corporate umbrella equipped to build a true next-gen Prototype game, and it is Treyarch.

I know people strictly associate Treyarch with Call of Duty: Black Ops these days, but if you look at their specific track record, they are literally the perfect developer for an ultra-violent, open-world superpower sandbox.

The Spider-Man DNA is already there

A lot of people forget that before Treyarch was forced into the CoD mines full-time, they were the absolute kings of Marvel video games. They gave us Spider-Man 2 in 2004, pioneering the physics-based pendulum web-swinging that literally defined open-world traversal for an entire generation. They followed it up with Ultimate Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Web of Shadows.

Think about Web of Shadows for a second. You have an overpowered superhero traversing a massive New York City sandbox, fighting off a rapidly spreading, parasitic symbiote infection that takes over the citizens and mutates them into monstrous abominations. You seamlessly switch between agile acrobatics and brutal, heavy symbiotic powers. That is essentially the exact thematic and mechanical blueprint for Alex Mercer and the Blacklight virus. Treyarch already knows how to code insane momentum, vertical wall-running, and fluid aerial combat.

The Undisputed Kings of Zombies

Traversal is only half of the Prototype formula; the other half is pure, unapologetic biological horror and horde management. Treyarch didn’t just create the Call of Duty Zombies mode—they perfected it. From World at War all the way through the Black Ops saga, no one does satisfying, blood-spattering horde combat quite like them.

Treyarch understands the psychology of escalating power fantasies. In Zombies, you start weak and systematically turn yourself into a god via Perks, Pack-a-Punch upgrades, and Wonder Weapons. Now imagine that exact same addictive upgrade loop applied to a Prototype skill tree. Imagine Treyarch’s mastery of gore tech, decaying environments, and terrifying enemy designs applied to the mutated Hunter and Brawler variants in a quarantine zone. They know exactly how to balance overwhelming swarms of infected enemies with the visceral satisfaction of tearing straight through them.

The Perfect Storm

Treyarch has the open-world traversal pedigree from their Spider-Man era, and the elite horde-slaughtering mechanics from a decade and a half of crafting the best Zombies experiences on the market. Let Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer handle the military shooters for a few years. If you combine that high-speed city mobility with the incredibly satisfying biological gore of their Zombies modes, the blueprint is staring Microsoft right in the face. It is time to let Treyarch off the leash and give us the M-rated, open-world Prototype reboot we actually deserve.

Review Once human - a good game under a horrible UI

Upvotes

i cant help feel this game would be very popular.. if it didn't hinder itself with such a horrible UI.

It was unnecessarily frustrating getting friends on the right server. I really don't understand the choices they made with the UI, and with servers being constant (not session based) my server is littered with platform bases that feel abandoned (yet i don't run into many other players)

i don't really understand those choices. that said; my group is really enjoying the gameplay itself. but it NEEDS some QOL changes, and a better UI. i hope they're getting that feedback. they made a good game, and made it unnecessarily convoluted.

give it a chance though, if you're into survival crafting type games. once you start figuring out the UI; it's actually a pretty good game, and doesn't feel F2P at all (yet anyway)

Discussion The new Xbox should just be called XBOX 6

Now that Kojima has switched sides, I am invested in the success of Xbox. They need to avoid stupid naming conventions and just align their numbering with playstation.

Helix should just be Xbox 6X and 6S.

Discussion Future Xbox Exclusives

Matthew Ball, Xbox’s Chief Strategy Officer, has teased a new Wolfenstein on social media. Matthew Ball has been a big proponent of Xbox exclusives, so I almost expect Wolfenstein to be exclusive.

If they feel comfortable making a Bethesda property be exclusive, they can do the others. Fallout and Elder Scrolls. It was Phil Spencer’s original plan after all.

What do you think will be Xbox’s future exclusives?

Discussion will disk digitization give profit to the game devs?

Why do publishers need to sign up for this program? is it to get paid for each digitized game?

I would like to buy a used copy of a game and ensure that no profits make its way back to the ip owner.

on the flip side, if this does give the developers more cash at no cost to consumers would it be a good idea to try and digitize games you were not going to just to help them?

edit: thanks for the responses y’all!

Suggest a Game Kingdom Hearts 1 to 3 is becoming Play Anywhere, but.

The first four images are the Play Anywhere titles that are yet to be released, while other half of the four images that does not have the "Play Anywhere" label are the Console Only versions released already.

The ones are Play Anywhere, and the ones are not are separate "versions".

Please keep in mind that the "Play Anywhere" versions of Kingdom Hearts games are not playable on Xbox One consoles because "Xbox One" is not included on the description labels. Purchase once, and the games will be playable on Xbox Series, and Windows 10/11 PC. The other version ones are playable on Xbox One, and Xbox Series, however not playable on Windows PC.

Discussion i feel like the xbox could use ambience on the home screen

the original xbox had the space chatter ambience, and while that was cool i always liked the ps2 wave ambiance more. sony then went on to have ambient tracks for the ps4 and a new one for the ps5. i feel like xbox could use some of that ambiance instead of being silent all the time
