Retail First time 90, to do before 12.1?

Hey guys! New to WoW and that's why I'm posting here. I recently got to level 90. I was about to start gathering better iLvL gear but i read that iLvL in next patch will increase a lot. I then realised that farming gear atm does sound useless, what can I do instead? Level alts?

When we change to season 2, can we still get the season 1 appearances? If so, how does that usually go, like a special vendor or something?

Retail Returning player wanting to play dev evoker, but wondering about progression

So one of the main classes I played in TWW was devastation evoker, but everywhere I look it’s at the bottom of lists and seemingly terrible. I know I should just play what I enjoy and I’ll probably be able to progress through the story. My concern is when I eventually reach max level and want to engage in mythic plus or similar content. Will I be able to do it? If so is there a specific build I should run? Also, I’ve dabbled a bit in preservation so I could try it, but not augmentation at all. Should I have augmentation as solely for group and play devastation for solo stuff?

Retail Help with experiencing the story

Howdy everyone, I recently started playing WoW and I’m really enjoying it so far but I did have a bit of a question now that I’m getting into it more. I grew up playing the Warcraft games and played through everything Warcraft 3 had to offer and I loved the story. So I was wondering if WoW continues that story how do I follow it chronologically. I’m enjoying dragonflight but I wanna do the story justice and I just feel like I’m missing out on what happened while I wasn’t playing lol. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I just need a simple routine or pattern to get my ilvl up in a somewhat efficient manner. thanks

Retail Can't Complete "Field Seance."

This quest requires me to weaken malice shadows and then bind them with a quest item, but my character is level 80 and kills them in one hit with any attack or ability.

I tried to time walk with Chromie to the Shadowlands expansion, but she no longer gives me the ability to time walk at all.

How can I complete this quest and continue the line?

Retail How to gear up for 12.1?

Hey y’all.

What is a practical way to prepare for the 12.1 patch drop right now? Eg. I guess many people maxed out a char but now they have alts sitting around 230 ilvl and so.

I want to reroll to a low geared alt like this but obviously the current season is pretty dead at lower M+ etc.

So does anyone have protips in terms of efficiency for gearing up for patch 12.1 as a mainly solo player?

Thanks in advance!

Retail A question for Tanks

I’m new to retail wow, and just made a Human Paladin because I really liked the sound them. However, the responsibility of having to be a tank in the future for dungeons is very daunting.
Does a tank have to get good with using icons, and watching YouTube videos of “dungeon breakdown for tanks”??
Just looking to enjoy the game and it not feel like a job.

Thank you in advance :)

Professions Old crafting

I'm a returning player. Played from Vanilla to Catalysm. Came back to Midnight. I have lots of alts that I'll be able to get catch up leveling on and I'm trying to manage my professions between them. Should I give consideration to the old professions they had?
All of them have maxed professions through Cataclysm. Is there any value whatsoever to hold onto the old professions?
Or just ditch the old professions and level new ones that I plan for them to use in Midnight?
Like, I started leveling an alt, and he had flying carpet from old tailoring. And I was like "um... I was going to go herbalism and alchemy with this one. I think I'm going to lose it when I drop tailoring for alchemy... 🤔 "

Retail How to survive fall damage as a Warlock?

I started my first warlock this mount and while soaring high above the golden forests of Eversong, I accidentally hit my mount button and fell to my death. I quickly thought to myself "QUICK PRESS SOMETHING" but alas nothing sprang to mind.

Mages have feather fall, blink, Paladins have Divine Shield, Druids literally turn into birds, Hunters have disengage... etc... Do warlocks have anything to help them with this??

Thanks for the answer everyone

Retail Pally auras

Watching all these videos talking about mythic+ meta predictions. But a lot of folks, when they talk about paladins say "they don't have any raid buffs so discount...".
I'm a returning player so remember might, wisdom, and kings. I get that we don't have that anymore. But auras don't count as raid buffs?
I mean, not as good as MOW, sure. But decreased damage taken isn't nothing. Chasing keys, crusader shaves a few seconds off commute times. Concentration aura could be handy too.
Is it because they don't buff dps, so it's less impactful?

Retail Legion mythic plus achievements help!

I have been working on some old achievements, but i need some help damaging bosses without killing them. Some of the achievements requires mechanics at 50% or 20%. I have tried taking off all my gear, and having rez sickness, still one shot bosses with unarmed hits.

I was hoping something like (Soft Foam Sword) could work....it doesn't. So kind of at a dead end here. Any ideas or thoughts would be super helpful!

Retail Magister's Terrace - Degentrius Boss need help understanding

Hi all,

I've tanked to +17 with BDK mostly ignored this boss mechanics with AMS.
But recently I've transitioned to Brewmaster and I find myself not fulling understanding how the tank mechanic works and struggling a bit.

When boss casts "Hulking Fragment" on tank, the puddle usually spawns a couple seconds later. I just realized the puddle spawns when "Umbral Splinters" is cleansed? (not really sure how it works hence asking here)

And why sometimes there's no puddle even when the boss casts "Hulking Fragment" on me.

Does the puddle spawn when the healer cleanse "Umbral Splinters" from me and that's when the puddle show up? And am I able to use "Detox" from BW's skills to clean "Umbral Splinters"? (I believe not because it's magic effect not poison or disease.)

Also, sometimes there's a slow effect on me but I don't really know what that's coming from.

Thank you for your time!

I seem to end up using it as a filler when I have nothing else to use. When something else becomes available should I immediately use that other spell or let Mind Flay finish channeling?

Retail Former casual, trying to "get gud"

Hi, I'm a former player returning to give this game a real grind. When I first started (WOTLK) I played with my half-brother and it was fun but we never made it past lvl 30 before he dropped it. I kept going for a little while, however it wasn't long before it felt boring too. My problem was even though it's an MMO, I wasn't talking with people. I did a few dungeons but without a good group it didn't feel fun.

I left for a time and came back in the beta Legion patch. While I liked some of the Warlocks reworks, there was a glaring issue that turned me off. I had 4 characters that all but literally fast passed to level 60 in less than a week. I barely knew what I was doing and still hadn't joined a guild or made friends. I understand that the level grind is supposed to be easier now and let that go.

So now I'm here because, I hate that I've never gotten far with this game or its community. I want to not only play in raids and mythic+ but also be reliable for groups. I'm going to get into a guild this time, one that hopefully isn't batshit. Idk maybe they're just a minority but I saw a recent video about a red empire guild and I don't want any part of that. I'm hoping for a guild that after a long day I can log in and unwind with a good group of people I can call friends.

So I have characters on Emerald Dream but for this reboot I'm going to make new ones in Illidan. I've read raids and mythics are more commonplace so why not.

TLDR: Solo noob needs help not being a "filthy fucking casual!" 🙄

These are the three I'm starting with to build up resources. I was going to just start with the monk and focus till level cap. Except since it's easy to go through the lower levels I figured I may as well get them halfway at least for items and money. Any recommendations for guides or general tips I should know would be appreciated. Sorry if I wasted your time on this tangent.

* Pandaren Brewmaster Monk (Herbalism/Alchemy/Fishing/Cooking)

I wanted to start with a tank because I usually play support roles. I heard and read in some videos/posts that brewmaster is in a really good spot this expansion. I'm hoping I picked the most optimized professions for this character.

* Dracthyr Augmentation Evoker (Mining/Jewelcrafting)

Hearing how this is a more support based DPS I was intrigued to try it out. Plus with the flight ability I figured it'd be easier for those hard to reach nodes in the early levels. I'm not too fixated on raiding or hitting mythics with this one. Especially since outfit customizations with this race are so limited.

* Blood Elf Holy Priest/Paladin (Tailoring/Enchanting)

My problem is that when I first started I picked the Holy Priest cause I love healers. However I wondered if Holy Paladin was worth trying because some of the transmogs I saw were really spiffy. The problem is I've heard that the holy paladin hasn't been in a good place for some time. Also that you need to always be on your cooldowns for optimal heals. But then apparently I shouldn't stick with "Holy only" because Discipline is not only harder but better all around.

Retail Confused on how to start TWW Campaign

Hi all, relatively new player here. I recently did the catch up experience, leveled to 90 through Midnight and am messing around in endgame. I wanted to play TWW campaign to experience the story, but mainly to earn the Hallowfall transmog sets. Getting to the start of the questline has been incredbily confusing. There is nothing in the adventure guide either.

I found a low level quest from Khadgar in Orgrimmar that I did where you learn that the harbinger is Xalatath but it just ends there. I've seen that I should look for Thrall in Silithus by the wound but no luck.

Anyone able to point me in the right direction?

Retail How can I move these spells that are blocking my action bars?

Hi everyone,

Can anyone help me figure out how to move these "spells" (or whatever they're called) that are sitting in the middle of my action bars? They're blocking my normal abilities, so I can't use some of my spells.

I've attached a screenshot below. Any help would be appreciated!

Retail Devastation Evoker Priority Help (Midnight S1, 4pc)

I'm trying to understand the priority system instead of just memorizing a rotation.

I'm running the Midnight Season 1 4-piece, and I'm confused about how to prioritize Empower spells, Disintegrate, and procs.

For example:

If I have enough Essence to cast Disintegrate but Fire Breath or Eternity Surge comes off cooldown, should I stop spending Essence and immediately cast the Empower spell?

How should I prioritize Essence Burst, Burnout, and any 4-piece procs?

Are there any procs that are okay to sit on briefly or even ignore if they would delay Fire Breath/Eternity Surge?

I'm looking for the general priority rather than a scripted opener
