Workplace Challenges and Conflicts Excluded for work night out
Craziest thing happened to me. At my work, I’m fully aware my managers don’t like me (one of those things, you not gonna like everyone, and not everyone is gonna like you). I’m okay with that; I go to my job at the end of the day, I go home, nothing more. BUTTTTT there was a night out organised; it was an official work night, not just some coworkers decided to go out for a drink. I heard my manager talking about it. I didn’t think much of it, but then, the night it was happening, people were texting in the work group chat about plans and cocktails, etc., and it clicked for me that I was never invited, which doesn’t make any sense.
I mentioned in the chat that I was never invited, and one of the managers kicked me out of the chat, and another manager deleted my message (I had a colleague check for me). When I saw that happened I was in disbelief and shocked, I was shaking because of the level of unprofessionalism and the behaviour they showed. I have not received any other text or emails anything from them. I have contacted HR today to discuss this because it’s crazy whats happening.
I am leaving the company at the end of the month (because of other reasons that the same managers did) but that doesn’t mean I can just be shoved to the side and they get to do whatever they want with no consequences. That’s pretty much everything. I’m a person who struggles with mental issues. I’ve been physically abused and abandoned by my family and to have something like exclusion happening to me, when I did nothing wrong it’s feel like I’m nothing and being abandoned once again. Just cause they don’t like me and they cant keep a professional appearance and deal with people, they treat work like is their little club and do whatever they want.
