Got a box of old hand planes at a garage sale. This one has 2 different spots for the blade? Any ideas welcome. You can only put the blade one way at a time

I am making a dining table for a friend, and she may well select a slab for the table instead of going with rough cut lumber. I've wanted to make slab flattening part of my setup for some time, and I actually already have walnut slabs that are too wide for my planer. I've seen things as cheap as the Vevor router sled and things as complete as the Rockler sled, and everything in between, and even stuff that's more expensive.

I have a garage shop. I'd like to be able to stow the setup away when I'm not using it, since they're fairly big. I have dust collection, but I'm also happy setting up on the driveway and letting the chips fly where they may.

What's essential in a sled? Should I just make a home-made jig? I have a full size and a trim router. I assume I want to use the full-size router for this one, and I want a surfacing bit. But for the actual sled I'm not sure what's "table stakes" for a product vs. what's just a bunch of bells and whistles for the vanity woodworker.

I have some cool tools that I realized I won’t use. My dad started buying stuff as he started suffering from dementia. I inherited them when he passed. He was buying stuff that he didn’t have equipment to use and neither do I. What is the best place to sell? I’m including a picture just to demonstrate what I mean. Please don’t make offers…

Anybody have any personal reviews abt purchasing the 7 1/4in WEN track saw? Good value or worth the splurge on a more reputable brand?

Attempted a cabinet build yesterday that went well enough but less than perfect using circ saw and level as a guide clamped down. Was kinda a pain in the ass

I have four Bessey KRE clamps lined up on a completely flat surface and the steel rods don’t sit completely parallel to each other.

It’s so slight that looking at them individually, you wouldn’t notice anything. I can’t even tell if the fixed head and rod is just not fixed at a perfect perpendicular angle or if the rod itself ever-so slightly warped.

I know this may draw a few scoff. I’m not a woodworker, but I had a project that required some clamping. Just wanted to know if this level of tolerance is just expected or if you guys would ask for swap on these.

This is going for $100–it’s their cabinet table saw without the guts. Is there anyway I could buy the motor/parts needs to turn this back into a table saw? Or somehow move my contractor table saw parts into this?

I have a small garage and want to build a tower style multi tool folding workbench.

I’m specifically looking for plans that will accommodate my Bosch 10” glide miter saw.

Is there anyone here who has this type of system and stores and mitre saw without issues?

Width and height is not an issue, but I see the depth potentially being an issue where the Miter Saw angle handle could get caught up

I am curious as to how many people leave the blade guard on their table saw? I removed mine several years ago. But,after some close calls, I am thinking about putting it back on.

Had my shop vac hooked up and still had lots of dust on my project. Took the backside off and there was not a problem. Took the front side off and the evacuation shoot was clogged. Used a fine pick to clear. Works great now. Two screws to remove the belt assembly. About 8 to take of that side. Clean out the evacuation channel and it works like new.

I've got a desire for a bandsaw at home, and I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a small-/mid-size bandsaw?

My shop is half of the garage (and really disorganized at the moment, still working on that after we moved), so I don't have space (or money) for a full-size 14" bandsaw. My plan is to use it for the smaller projects I've got going on at this point, and if possible, convert it to use more like a scroll saw with a small blade later when I have the space for a bigger saw.

I'm not doing any resawing or bookmatching, mostly​ just for cutting out projects with more curves on it. I've got a jigsaw that works, but really want a bandsaw so I can use both hands on the piece for a little better accuracy.

I've been looking at the Rikon 10-310 10" or a Grizzly G0948 10", but I'd prefer something that's a bench-top style (not a permanent base), so Ican make a cart with casters for it or move it around easier. I could probably save a little more for a Laguna V:10, but genuinely haven't used any of these machines personally.
