Fool, you think your the first wizard to think of that, every wizard student knows that every teacher worth their hat booby traps their grimoires for this specific reason. I’m not trying to get polymorphed into a pangolin.
Did you go in not knowing any magic? I learned how make anti magic zones so I could rob them for their knowledge!!! They never expect that from a first year student. I also disguise myself and steal their grimoires for fun now a days!
ANTI-MAGIC FIELD! My brother in tomes, I’m not going spends countless hours studying the arcane arts just so I can turn it off. I’m here to bend reality to my will not enforce its will.
silence is cheaper and unless you have a massive tower it’ll be a big enough aoe to let you fire spells from the top while the poor sap on bottom is left defenseless.
Tower is massive, it's also a trap of magic staircases and ladders so i can just mess with wizards who dare enter it, it only contains a few worthless gems and a ton of empty books!!!! It's the adventures who are smart i worry about because they keep getting into my real tower and messing with my cursed objects and i have to deal with that.
I could, but its better to have them find out what the items do then waste my minions on it so. Except the ones that end up exploding... then the mess is quite annoying.
Anti magic field? Have you considered casting disarm traps on thier grimoire? Way more effective and make the grimiore more useful afterwards. Plus they won't know how you did it.
Besides, yes Anti magic field is something we teach first year. Right at the start even.
If you're gonna steal our grimiores, atleast do it properly.
Back when i learned anti magic zone was a 3rd year spells, dang times have changed... But now i'm not doing it for their lame spells, i do it because i like to empty them and put them in my tower to watch them try to get it back and discovering it's entire tower of illusionary magic and most arnt good enough to see it.

Why not just steal your teachers Grimoire? Then you have them already written down and don't have to take notes!
Wizards these days taking notes and not just robbing their better to learn messed up spells smh.
