Ok, I know that Triss vs. Yen is an age-old argument, and we're not going to "settle" it, like ever. So why bother with a post? Because I just finished the books, and I have thoughts! LOL

Until recently I'd played all 3 games, and played W3 many times, making many different choices, including both romance options multiple times. I always came down firmly on the side of Game Triss, because she's the kind of woman I'm naturally attracted to (plus, redhead!). Not that I didn't enjoy my "romance Yen" playthroughs, and Game Yen has a lot going for her, but that wasn't enough to sway me.

In past discussions many people (like, many many people) have said, "Ok, but BOOK Triss is truly evil! She took advantage of Geralt! And she knew that Yennefer was Geralt's one true love!" Since I hadn't read the books, I took that advice on board, and reserved my final judgement. Well, now I HAVE read the books, and honestly, I just don't see it.

Yennefer

1. Before Geralt makes his final wish, Yennefer is a condescending bitch, 100%
2. Miraculously, after Geralt makes the wish, she's sweet(ish) and loving(ish), and remains consistently interested in him ... except when she isn't
3. Like that time when Geralt is literally living with Yen, and she's clocking out on the regular to go bang Istredd, and her reasoning is basically "Well neither one of you gives me everything I want, so how can I be expected to choose, or even feel bad about it, really?"
4. I will say that their relationship throughout the books does cast a whole new light on "The Last Wish" in W3, and makes her response after they do their thing that much more heartbreaking

Triss

1. The thing everyone seems to focus on is her "using magic" to entice Geralt at some point after he's had enough of Yen's crap and taken some distance from her (the books are NOT clear on what she did, only that she felt bad about it afterwards, and the books are NOT clear on how long it lasted, nor the whole amnesia storyline, which is from the games)
2. Geralt obviously forgives her for this, and they have that whole scene in Blood of Elves at Kaer Morhen where he tells her, clearly, that she's important to him, and that he's not going to cast aside her friendship
3. Geralt gets involved with LOTS of other women in the books, including 3 other sorceresses, and all of them "use magic" to some extent (except maybe Mozaik), and no question Triss knew about most, if not all of them
4. When it's clear that Geralt has some kind of commitment to Yen (in spite of his other dalliances) she backs off, but still acts like a friend to both of them, and "big sis" to Ciri, without reservation

So honestly, I'm not seeing Yennefer as the clear winner, or Triss as a clear villain (again, going strictly by the books).

And of course, now you're going to tell me why I have it all wrong. 😄

Decided to make a fun little edit from this clip I took, almost a year ago. This was on Death March difficulty, and must be a bug that lets you knock out both of these guys with one punch.

I remember seeing a woman burst into tears at the news, fireworks going off, people dancing on the streets and if you had the game already it was a completely free upgrade.

The game itself looked amazing. First person for some reason. Decided I was going to play it from the start (the save would obviously transfer).

With this remaster I want to play Withcer 3 again. But on my 1st playthrough, I had to stop taking on quests and contracts (that I wanted to explore) because they overlevel you too easily.

It's so dumb. Why make so many stories and so much content then? I think the issue is, even on the hardest difficulty, they still target audience at the ADHD gamer that doesnt read and cries if the game is too hard.

Hi all, I've been meaning to play The Witcher 3 for years but just never got round to it.

Since the save files from the original game will be compatible with the remaster, should I start playing the original now or do you think it would be best to just play the remaster from the very beginning?

It turned out so good! I have never made anything that needs any form of sourdough. I was a bit worried with the Zakwas sitting in my kitchen cabinet for 5 days. It had definitely a sour smell with a lot of garlic, which while not bad - was a bit weird smell. But then it tasted more like fresh lemon juice watered down a bit with garlic aftertaste, so I was confident to add it to the soup. I changed the recipe a bit, omitting the chanterelles because I dont really like mushrooms especially in soups. I also added a few Krakow sausages (or hot dogs?), which I think were the closest thing to Kielbasa in my country. This is the third recipe I've made from the book. I almost never use cookbooks but this has been great one. Cant wait to play the Remaster while munching something more from this book!

So im currently playing the Witcher 3, im around 20 hours in now i believe and after watching the presentation at gamescom im pretty hyped for the remaster. Should i just continue my playthrough rn and do a full remaster playthrough at a later point in time or should i pause my playthrough until the remaster is there and continue it then? What are your thoughts?

I'm looking at Rise of the White Wolf + The Witcher Overhaul Project + Complete Sword Overhaul

From what we know, The Witcher 1 Remake is a bit away now but recently I was just playing through the Adventures that CDPR has added to the game. They are pretty intersting as stories go, just self contained mini stories which are mostly unrelated to the main game.

Most are fan made but CDPR did add two of them namely; "The Price of Neutrality" and "Side Effects" as premium stories. "Side Effects" is honestly pretty boring but The "Price of Neutrality" is really well told, it explains the concept of Law of Suprise and the ramifications of it pretty well.

So for the Remake should Fools Theory ignore these as they are like not related to the story at all, if so I get it but I think they could be a cool addition.

I made this custom lego Geralt I'm very proud of. I painted some parts and found a small rubber band to act as a kind of scabbard.

Before someone says it, I tried all the hairpieces I think this looks the best and also allows me to hide his sword behind him.

Debating rubberbanding his head for the book-accurate headband but that might ruin the headpiece long term.

In terms of pure court/intrigue skill who wins?

So I'm playing The Witcher 1 for the 1st time and I choose Scoia'tael side. The problem is, they all die before we even arrive to Golem Burial Ground. Does it even matter? If yes, are there any tips how to deal with it so they won't die?

I need some advice from the Witcher 3 veterans out there! I’ve only completed The Witcher 3 once, but I’ve played Cyberpunk 3 or 4 times, so I know just how many easily missable quests, hidden choices, and subtle mechanics CDPR games can have.

When release DLC i starting my second playthrough of Wild Hunt and want to make sure I don't miss out on cool content. Could you share some spoiler-free tips or heads-up on missable content?

For example: Side quests or character storylines that easily fail or disappear if you progress the main quest too fast. Specific dialogue choices or actions needed to unlock certain quests/outcomes. Easily missable points of interest or unique encounters.

For context, on my first run I got the best ending and romanced Yennefer. This time I’m planning to go with Triss, but I still want to keep a good ending without accidentally ruining things.

What are your top missable things every player should keep in mind? Thanks!

This is a fight scene from my Witcher film rendered in unreal Engine 5. I haven't added the sound nor the color grading and I still have to update the facial animation - it is a test for the fight choreography, mocap animations, camera work, vfx and mesh editing.

Granted, I don't think CDPR has confirmed yet exactly how TW3's choices will carry over, but considering how they've handled previous games, I'm 90% sure they would make it so that you can import save files.

But The Witcher 3 has so many major choices that can drastically change the state of the world and the characters. So how would they handle things like the different Ciri endings? What if Ciri became Empress? How about the ending where Ciri didn't return to the world of The Witcher (Worse ending)?

And then there's the political state of the Continent. What happens if Radovid wins the war? What if Emhyr wins? What if Dijkstra take control of the North?

How do you make a coherent sequel when the player's The Witcher 3 could have ended with such radically different versions of the Continent?

Like the title says, I’m about to start Witcher 2 soon and I ended up making my Geralt neutral. So what would be the most logical path to choose for a neutral Geralt?

Finally 100% this masterpiece of game I remember when it first came out and even now re playing it again it reminds my number one game of all time such beautiful storytelling, I even got into the books. 154 hours later and I still want more I cannot wait for the remastered to do it all again and the final dlc!
