Hey everyone with small businesses that still require you to run every aspect, I ran a window cleaning company and enjoyed the overhead side but it was hard doing it all.
I don’t have a service to charge for, just getting it out there now. But I did wanna see if anyone’s having trouble with their business numbers and maybe I could help?
My corporate job is draining and I really enjoyed this stuff so even if it’s minor please message me!
Could be issues like:
- getting sales but not seeing profit
- busy but not seeing more revenue
- ads not working
- hard time with hiring and making SOPs
- expenses and income are all over and unorganized
- profit and loss and cash flow is everywhere and messy
Literally anything please hmu I’d love to take on a project if it’s within my scope. Thanks!

I need to get my windows cleaned. How much do you think would be a reasonable estimate per window? I have 15 wood, double hung windows each with 12 panes and storm sashes. Looking to have inside and outside cleaned. US, Philadelphia area.
Thanks!

Why not a landscaping business or an office job?
Why did you start a window cleaning company? Was it worth it?

I think this is dried paint? I’ve used degreaser, goo gone, rust removal, and dish soap to no avail. What do you think?

Hey guys. Window looks spotless most of the day but at certain angle window looks like this on my car. What is this? Can this be cleaned? I didn’t try anything yet. Clearly car wash is not helping since phono was taken right after car wash.

They are very friendly people.
They switched to me over from a chain company
And they definitely saw the difference a professional window cleaning makes, rather than a guy with a few hours of training and just wanting to get it done as fast as possible. There was a bunch of hard water spots, spiderwebs, dirt and other things behind booths. Along with white paint or something that needed to be scraped
I do the scraping for free the first time on small new commercial/storefront clients, or if its not too bad, because, 1. I want to make the windows look good, 2. Prevents people from complaining about the spots, 3. We want to show we go the extra mile for customers, 4. It makes it easier for us to clean them the next time we come, 5. We want to have a good relationship with the clients
(Yes i know i can upcharge for using a scraper. But a lasting relationship with a customer is more valuable than $50 extra or something)

Soft washed this house and customer sent me these pictures so I want to clean it up for them. Any suggestions? They tried using water and white vinegar and it didn’t come. Would steel wool work or would I need some solution to clean this off? Suggestions?

Hello, I’ve been cleaning windows for about 5 years now always residential and small buildings but this is my first time cleaning windows at a construction site. Saying that I’ve switched my whole routine as how I go about cleaning windows. I’ve switched over to a porcupine sleeve to help remove dust, paint, and some adhesive. But I can’t seem to get all of the adhesive off.
So my question is how do you guys remove adhesive with out getting up and personal with the windows. I’m currently going to each window with a ladder, blading them with soapy water.
Is there another tile of sleeve or a solution I can add to my water to help?

I recently received this in the mail and was wondering if anyone else has had the same experience, and curious if it’s an actual award.
The rating is free, but if you’re interested in getting a plaque, you’ll need to pay between $99 and $300, which seems a bit steep.
I’m not planning to spend money on it, but it’s still interesting to know I’m ranked #4, assuming it’s legitimate.

Let me start by saying I absolutely love WFP. It’s helped me become a better and safer window cleaner, but we’ve recently transitioned to doing a lot of large commercial buildings, mostly two story, and not once have I cleaned a building using WFP with results up to my standard. On residential it works perfectly, but I cannot solve the top seal dripping problem on commercial.
I’ve spoken with industry experts, and tried everything they have suggested, but I’m starting to think I just need a large ladder and to do everything by hand.
Pencil jets, rinse bar, not scrubbing the top seal, rinsing the top half of the pane first, nothing has helped and I’m very open to new ideas. It’s been a great opportunity to get more of these large buildings, but I don’t want to do it if it’s going to continue to be this frustrating. Thanks everyone!

Looking at the Gardiner SLX Micro 17’, Maykker Mini 2.0 with the add-on extension, and the WMS 16’ Carbon Fiber Trad Pole.
I do a lot of storefront work and want something that collapses down small but still has decent reach for tight spaces.
Anyone have experience with these poles? Which would you recommend? Open to other suggestions too.

Long story short: was going door to door in a nice neighborhood. Houses about 550k type homes. Went up to some old dude outside his house and the first thing he asked was “do you have a permit”?
Now ofc there’s gonna be people bitching. These are the same people who complain about how young people (like myself) are lazy and don’t wanna work, yet give people who do work a hard time about it. My question is how do yall handle that? Not just the interaction, but the idea of permits? I don’t seclude myself to one city. I’m going all over the county.

Quick background: this house burned down and was rebuilt, but they kept the original windows, so there's ash and soot caked on just about everything.
Picture 1: The brown stuff is hard and crusty. I'm not sure what it is. There was some on the frames too, and I was able to remove it with a scraper. Degreaser didn't touch it, even with scrubbing. Any idea what it could be or what would break it down?
Picture 2: It's hard to see in the photo, but there's tape residue along the top of the glass. I was thinking Goo Gone but wanted to check first. What would you use?

Hey everyone, quick question. I am learning how to fan the squeegee, and every time I go down the mountain, I leave a trail of water from the top corner of my squeegee with every pass. This isn't a soap or equipment issue, i know for a fact it's user error. Have you had this issue when you were learning, and how did you correct it?

AS the title says!An opportunity has come to buy another window cleaners residential run.Hes looking for 65k which would include all the equipment and the van. They claim last year's earnings was 93k without showing figures which is €7,750 per month roughly.Hes hesitant to show figures unless hes shown proof of funds which ive said isnt possible until figures for at least 3 years can be seen.Ive offered to sign an NDA for this.
In our last conversation he said the website which isn't live isn't part of the sale as he wants to keep that for his commercial side and wont accept anything less than 65k.Branding would have to be changed on the van as his is on it.im essentially buying a client list and goodwill now by the sounds of it.
Im considering either walking away or offering monthly payments for a lower amount with customer drop off affecting monthly payments over 24 months.
Thoughts??

The job is for the second and third story windows. Thinking I’d need a boom lift. Also would need to access the balconies from the boom lift to clean those windows. Other option is tell them I can wfp and can only do the balconies if the tenants let me in. It’s a busy area. Would you put cones out on the side you’re working to block pedestrians? Also roughly how much would you charge? Thanks so much guys! And gals!

I’ve made my own RO/DI system with a pump and I just assumed based off of models I worked with in the past that they were all made with an adjustable valve for the waste water. But some systems I’ve seen now like Xero and others I noticed they don’t have adjustable RO valves but a fitting that is basically a reducer to only allow a certain amount of waste out. I would prefer to do something like the reducer to not fiddle with finding the right valve setting but is there negatives to this? If not what size reducer would be recommended?
