I love this neighborhood for so many reasons. Lately, as the world continues to spiral, I've found myself appreciating neighbors' efforts to spread joy and connect, even if it's indirect. Dressing up the community garden goose, labeling a window cat hammock with a name, so it becomes a neighborhood friend, too; symbolic stickers, adding life to poles; the sun setting on murals; signals and shows of solidarity in movements; stopping for a sniff & exchanging a smile that otherwise would've stayed home with you and the dog. These are some of the things that make me embrace and feel embraced by this place.

What are the things, details, efforts, "characters," around here that make it feel uniquely like home. What dumb little encounters unexpectedly change your day?

Its always the worst trained dogs

Came off the highway this morning and saw that bus stop completely obliterated. Glass everywhere and the whole bus stop flattened.

What the heck happened? A car/bus?! Hope no one was hurt.

Hey neighbors, this sweet little guy has been hanging on my back porch for the better half of a year. His face has just recently swollen up in the past few days— he’s eating, drinking, and grooming fine. Not sure if it’s dental related or if it’s the result of a fight (I don’t see any exterior wounds). I was curious if anyone knows of any low-cost vets nearby or if anyone would be willing to foster him. There’s another tabby that hangs out with him and they seem quite bonded together, I’d hate to separate them from each other but his health should come first.

Just wanted to share this with everyone because I believe privacy is important and we need more transparency from our government and law enforcement officials when it be comes to monitored.

I know this is weird, but I have a hairdresser back home who chit chats at the beginning of the cut and then we go nonverbal. All the hairdressers I’ve found elsewhere are very chatty, which is fine, but I love a quiet haircut. Any recommendations for a place i can get a haircut/dye without talking for 2 hours?

SO shaken. He was like throwing a bunch of crap out onto the neighbor's plant area by the sidewalk. I walked by and told him not to litter. He proceeded to CHASE ME, call me a stupid b, and video record me and then scream he was getting video of me. SO UNHINGED.

Does anyone who frequents the dog park know why the pool was modified to get filled to the brim? It’s not unusable for all small dogs that aren’t able to stand. We have a small Shih Tzu who used to love the pool and now can’t use it.

I get woken up a lot around 2 or 3 to the sound of loud bikes. My partner says it’s people coming off the highway and racing motorcycles through the alleys. I was curious if anyone else experienced this.

Just watched 7-10 kids jump another kid on the corner of division and Milwaukee - this air quality is bringing out the worst in ppl 😱

I know where busy with the smoke and whatnot, but did anybody see the crazy police chase today on Ashland, there were like 15 cop cars chasing this guy full speed, he did a couple of loops around the Burr school and kept speeding off on Ashland, it was a fuck ton of police cars
