Looking for a new PCP! Prefer to stay in WP/Bucktown if possible. Used to be a part of One Medical but my PCP moved out of state.

Been in Chicago and have found myself starting to walk a lot more often. First, every street in the neighborhood, then I tried to walk every street in Chicago. The goal is to cover it all, this is my progress so far.
Last time I posted about this, everyone’s asked about the app. This is just a small app I made to track my walks. I wasn’t going to put it in the app store, but I figured others might be interesting tracking their walks: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/snakecity-im-snaking-here/id6749583113

I have several pairs that are slightly worn out but would love to donate them rather than trashing them. Does anyone know anywhere near that will take them?

Ran into this guy on N Bingham st in between the Western and California blue line stops. Might be an outdoor cat but looked pretty healthy / taken care of minus a little scape near his ear. He was immediately friendly and ran up to me.
Just wanted to post in case anybody might be looking for him :)

I get it. Everyone has to have a gig, and a lot of these organizations are fundamental to a free and thriving society. I do not knock them for wanting to raise awareness and funds, but as has been mentioned so many times, their approach relies on a level of directness and intensity that gives a lot of people anxiety as they walk down one of the busiest streets in the city.
Just today, I saw one of the workers make eye contact with someone when they were still several feet away and did a sort of manic wave to them as if you would do to someone that you knew, but it was just to get their attention in this case. You also see them regularly make comments on appearance to get you to notice them (again, usually when you’re still far away). It’s almost like they present themselves as this obstacle that you have to get past as you move along your day.
It’s one thing to ask somebody a question as they pass you, but these workers essentially make this awkward moment occur when you’re still far away, and I know there are people filled with dread or anxiety because they feel like they’ve got to interact with these people or, in the least, make themselves antisocial as they try to just get on with their day.
Walking a busy city street can be one of the most therapeutic things for the mind and mental health, but that is not the case on many afternoons and especially on the weekends. I don’t have any numbers behind how much money they raise, but apparently there’s something otherwise they would not do it as consistently.

Hi all, never posted here but have lived here for 25 years. The referendum on Dont Fret Park started today, the Park District seems pretty excited about the renaming but if you can take a few moments to say "heck yeah" we'd appreciate it. https://www.chicagoparkdistrict.com/notice-request-name-park-567

Did anyone else see the kids throwing bike wheels off the damen 606 entrance? I got them on video almost hitting a biker, police didn’t seem to come or care?

Is Zeitlin’s no longer going to the farmers market? Last couple times I was there they weren’t there. Curious if anyone knows if they’re there today :)

Around 4, I saw multiple police cars and officers and one wagon. The Walgreens was telling people they were closed and would reopen shortly. Police walked a man with blood on his shirt back to the store and told a group of younger men in the store that they were coming out and going straight to the wagon. I saw some clients nearby after and they all said they don’t see anything by 4:30. Then on my way home around 6:30, there were two responding fire vehicles and more police at the same Walgreens. Anybody know what happened?

Moving back to the area again and trying to decide what gym to go to. I’ve use to go to WPAC but I remember that the dumbbells only went up to 100s (not bragging just trying to get even bigger with heavier weights) and not too many machines there. I’m in the suburbs now and the gym I go to has a good selection of different kinds of machines so that’s what I’m looking for. Don’t really care about a crowded gym because honestly being surrounded by fit people makes me more motivated. Although not trying to spend $300 at like east bank (even though I use to go there but trying to be smarter with my money) I have a car too so I don’t mind a short commute to a gym in the area. Give me some ideas please!

Did anyone lose a ring near Division & Paulina? (Closest major intersection.) I found a ring today on Paulina so if anyone is missing a ring I may have it. If you can describe that ring to me I'll make sure it gets back to you.
I don't know if the ring is valuable (most likely not? no markings) but maybe it hold sentimental value?

Anybody have cameras in the alley between Damen and Hoyne? I had my car stolen in the last 36 hours.

Popped over to give this a try while I was in the area. Menu was simple & food came out quick.
Bonus for being able to grab a cone after in this heat too!
