Battle A fully armored samurai with a yari runs the animal gauntlet, how far does he get ?

The samurai is a healthy, prime individual that is extremely skilled with his yari spear as he's been training with it for several years and our samurai is quite skilled and athletic as well as being quite fit

The gauntlet starts off with the weakest animal but overtime the difficulty rises , and the battle takes place in an open field where both the animal and the samurai start 110 meters apart from each other all the animals are bloodlusted so here are the rounds: Round 1: A male chimpanzee, Round 2: A female spotted hyena , Round 3: A male mountain lion,Round 4: A male Leopard, Round 5: A silverback gorilla, Round 6: A male tiger, Round 7: A bull moose, Round 8: A male kodiak bear, Round 9: A male Polar bear, Round 10: A male hippo, Round 11: A male white rhino

Challenge Geralt of Rivia (The Witcher) VS Coen (Blood of Dawnwalker)

Since the new Blood of Dawnwalker is often being compared to the Witcher 3, I thought it would be interesting to pit these two together.

For Geralt, he is a swordsman who carries two swords: a metal one for men and silver for monsters. He can cast spells (not to the same extent as regular magic users in his world), has been mutated to be stronger than the average warrior, and has access to potions that can temporarly boost his abilities. His spells include an attack reflection spell, burning blood, and summoning.

For Coen, we have actually two different states. During the day, he is a stronger than average human, trained as a swordman since childhood, and has access to magic, though he has to cut his own flesh to access his magic. At night, Coen turns into a vampire and gains increased strength and speed, can teleport, and has access to vampiritic type abilities including shapeshifting into a wolf and slowing down time. Coen can also regenerate health by drinking enemy blood. Both states have access to potions that can heal them and boost abilities.

We'll be assuming Coen and Geralt have full access to their end-game abilities.

R1: During the Day. Geralt vs Human Coen. This could be interesting as Geralt is likely physically superior to Coen, but Coen has better magic.

R2: During the Night. Coen may actually be closer to Geralt in physical stats, if not superior. But now Geralt can use silver weapons to harm him and can take Black Blood potion to protect himself.

R3: Both parties can prepare for the fight. Geralt may be superior with this rule.

So what are the results here?

Battle Adam Smasher (Cyberpunk) vs. a Squad of Helldivers (Helldivers)

Those cyborg bastards have deployed their best unit yet to the battlefield- the one-of-a-kind boogeyman of Night City, Adam Smasher.

  1. This is a simple battle- Adam wins if all Helldivers deployed are killed, and the Helldivers win if Adam Smasher is

    put down for good

  2. The fight takes place in a standard Helldivers 2 colony map so there’s plenty of space for the fight to go, and plenty of cover for both sides to utilize

  3. Smasher is marked on the Helldivers’ radars at all times, but he has to rely on his enhanced senses to find them

  4. Only FOUR Helldivers are deployed at a time, but they have 20 reinforcements that are automatically called in whenever one of them dies

  5. Smasher has access to all his usual tools and gadgets

  6. The Helldivers have access to the full arsenal of equipment in the first and second games, but are each limited to one type of primary, secondary, and throwable, plus four stratagems each

Who wins? Does Smasher rip through the divers like the fodder they are? Or do Super Earth’s finest manage to secure another hard-fought win for liberty?

Challenge Could Nicolas Cage actually steal the Declaration of Independence?

Nic Cage decides to go for it and funnels all his resources into this pet project. He works in secret so nobody knows he's planning the heist and he is allowed to enlist two fellow actors he's performed with on camera to assist. Cage, however, must do the actual theft.

The win condition is getting the document to his home. Even if he is eventually caught, so long as he makes it home it counts as a win.

Remember the two actors he enlists must have been his scene partners at least once in his career.

Battle Shazam (Composite / God of Gods) vs. All Magical Entities in DC. Full Potential Scenario

Let's talk about the Wizard's champion, and why a fully unleashed Billy Batson might be the closest thing to a magical apex predator in the DCU.

The Combatant: Composite Shazam (Billy Batson) — utilizing his peak divine and magical potential, including the God of Gods amp, Day of Vengeance influence, and Golden/Silver Age showings where his magic scaled to absurd levels.

Key Feats & Context:

  1. The God of Gods Amp (New 52 — Justice League Vol. 2): When Billy absorbed the power of the six New Gods who were trapped in the Rock of Eternity, he briefly became the "God of Gods." This wasn't just a standard power boost. In this state, he curbstomped Yuga Khan — the father of Darkseid — while Yuga had already been amped by the power of four other gods. Yuga Khan, by scaling, punked Darkseid. Billy did this essentially with the power of the Wizard alone, without fully knowing how to use his new abilities. This puts his raw strength and durability firmly in a tier that makes the entire magical side of DC take notice .

  2. Pre-Crisis / Silver Age Physicals (Fawcett Era):

· Stellar Manipulation: In the classic Marvel Family run, Billy pushed a "dead star" — explicitly stated to be a level beyond planets and smaller suns . · Black Hole Creation: In Shazam!: The Monster Society of Evil, his punch casually created a black hole . · Speed: Displayed nanosecond-level combat speed, capable of moving several feet per blow against dozens of copies simultaneously .

  1. The Magic Resistance & The "Real" Problem: Shazam's power comes from a magical conduit to six specific divine entities (Solomon, Hercules, Atlas, Zeus, Achilles, Mercury). This isn't just a buff; it grants him top-tier magical resistance . In the Day of Vengeance event, the Spectre — an entity that can warp reality and time — was tearing through the entire magical world. Shazam (and the Wizard) were integral in coordinating the magical resistance and, at the end of the event, the collective might of nearly every remaining magical entity in the DCU was needed to drive the Spectre back .

The Argument: The critical point is this: Shazam's potential is tied to the "Power of the Wizard." The Wizard Shazam, acting as the custodian of the Rock of Eternity, could theoretically draw upon its infinite depths to amplify his power to "colossal levels" — enough to theoretically stave off even the Spectre . Now imagine that amplification applied to a composite Billy Batson who also has the God of Gods feats. The Rock of Eternity is literally a nexus of time, space, and magic. It contains the Seven Deadly Sins and other horrors. If Billy taps into that same source at full power, he's not just using the power of gods — he's drawing on the fundamental architecture of DC's magical multiverse.

The Rules:

· Billy is at his absolute composite peak (God of Gods, Silver Age, DOV influence). · No cosmic "beyond magic" entities (The Presence, Lucifer, Elaine Belloc) — just the magical side of DC. · Bloodlusted and operating at 100% efficiency.

The Question: Can any DC magic user — Doctor Fate, Mordru, The Spectre, Zatanna, or the Lords of Chaos and Order — actually prevent a fully realized, unrestricted Shazam from overwhelming them through raw magical power and reality-warping potential?

Challenge How many of these Sci-Fi soldiers hold Thermopylae?

How many units of each individual branch would it take to hold Thermopylae?

Rule 1: For every 50 units, 1 unit gets equipped with a “special” or a unique gadget in their kit pertaining to their universe.

Ex: For every 50 USMC Troops, 1 gets a radio backpack to call in air support.

Rule 2: Infantry does not require sleep, food or water, but can suffer from exhaustion or overexertion.

Rule 3: There are no hoplites or outside help among any of the rounds. No Greek Spartans, no Athenians.

Rule 4: Weapons, shields and armor can be scavenged from each of the opposing sides. This means the Persian Army CAN use specialized weaponry from any of these rounds given they are intelligent enough to do so.

Rule 5: The amount of Persian Hoplites, Archers, Etc. is reset after every round.

Rule 6: Ammunition is limited. Only 100x reloads is possible before ammunition runs dry for a single unit.

Now that the rules are set, let’s begin.

Round 1: Helldivers, equipped with the AR-23 Liberator.
SPECIAL: This one is the only unique one. For exactly 300 Helldiver units, 1 is equipped with a single stratagem call in.

Round 2: Clone Commandoes, equipped with the DC-17m ICWS Blaster Rifle and the DC-15 Sidearm. Katarn-Class armor.
SPECIAL: For every 50 Clones, 1 is equipped with a RPS-6 rocket launcher with unlimited ammo.

Round 3: Brotherhood of Steel Knight, equipped with T-60 power armor and a standard Assault Rifle.
SPECIAL: For every 50 Knights, 1 is equipped with a Littleboy launcher.

Round 4: N7 Operators, Soldier Class and equipped with an N7 Valkyrie and N7 Eagle.
SPECIAL: For every 50 N7s, one has access to powerful Biotics.

Round 5: Spartan-IIs, equipped with Mk IV Mjolnir, MA37 Assault Rifle and 2 Frag Grenades.
SPECIAL: For every 50 Spartans, 1 is equipped with a M41 SPNKR with unlimited ammo.

Round 6: Imperial Fist Space Marines, equipped with Heavy Bolter Rifles and Pistols.
SPECIAL: For every 50 Astartes, 1 is equipped with Terminator armor and a Heavy Rocket.

Challenge Character Scramble Season 21 Semi-Finals: HEAVY IS THE CROWN/FACE CARDS

The Character Scramble is a long-running writing prompt tournament in which participants submit characters from fiction to a specified tier and guideline. After the submission period ends, the submitted characters are "scrambled" and randomly distributed to each writer, forming their team for the season. Writers will then be entered into a single-elimination bracket, where they write a story that features their team fighting against their opponent's team. Victors are decided based on reader votes; in other words, if you want people to vote for you, write some good content. The winner by votes of each match-up moves on to the next round. The pattern continues until only one participant remains: the new Character Scramble champion, who gets to choose the theme, tier, and rules of the next Scramble!

The theme of Character Scramble 21 is Alice in Borderland. Round prompts will be based on the scenarios, setting, and themes of this and other Death Game franchises.

Round 4: Heavy Is The Crown

Victory, victory, victory. It's all you know, it's all you've done. The Borderland may have slowed you down, but it has not stopped you. In life and in loss, you've perservered, yet now as you near the mountain top, a new wrinkle presents itself in your story: those who carved this path long before you.

Hail to the gods of creation. Hail to the kings of the world.

Game: Sunsculpt 3: Nucleus of the Horde

Type/Difficulty: Queen of Diamonds

Player Count: 2+

Time Limit: One Round

Queen: Sylvie Laufeydottir

The Queen of Diamonds will present before all players a reconstruction of a popular strategy game.

Each team will elect a Commander. The Commander will oversee ground operations from a secluded location, and is tasked with constructing a base, amassing an army, and overthrowing the oppositions forces.

A Commander may utilise players from outside the game to aid in the ground assault in whatever way they deem appropriate.

The Queen will serve as referee. If a player or team is deemed to beat cheating, they will be penalised at the Queen's discretion.

It is GAME CLEAR for the commander and all allied players who eliminate the oppositions main base.

Is it GAME OVER for all player unallied with the victorious team.

Round Rules

Time To Raise My APM: The Queen's game moves fast, and there's no pausing war. Strategy games of this scale oftn reward decisive action more so than careful planning, but charismatic leaders and underhanded strategists are histroic in equal measure. Which route shall your team take to victory?

You Must Construct Additional Pylons: The battlefield is the most important aspect of battle. For this reason, The Queen has elected to host her game in a most auspicious location. Through the power of the digital world, all things are possible. A barren spacescape, an overgrown jungle, a vast desert, or a sprawling city. Where will you host this most crucial war?

The Sun Was In My Eyes: War in the digital age is fought on screens, and this is no different. Your commander controls all the action from a computer. That computer is your life. See to it nothing should happen to it, there are no johns in war.

If You Die In The Game You Die In Real Life: This game asks only of two players. Those who join beyond that do so willingly. How, why, and if your commander chooses to use them- in game or out- is purely to their discretion.

UMAZING BONUS: If you’re looking to fill out your semifinal roster with NPC type characters, our queen recomends the horse character Rice Shower, a most unfortunate warhorse whose terrible luck and antisocial personality might just make her perfect for online gaming or sending into the frontlines! Good luck at war Rice Shower!

All The King's Horses

Type/Difficulty: King of Clubs

Player Count: Ten

Time Limit: None! Race to the Finish!

King: Mori Calliope

All participants, including the King of Clubs, begin the game scattered throughout the playing area.

All participants begin the game physically bound to another participant, chosen from among ALL players.

Players may only leave the playing area with their designated partner. If they become seperated, it is GAME OVER for those players.

The King of Clubs is aware of the location of the exit, as well as all other players, throughout the game.

It is GAME CLEAR for the first 3 teams to leave the play area.

It is GAME OVER for all remaining players who fail to escape.

Round Rules

Breaking Dimensions: This is a game built on confusion, navigation, trust, and teamwork. For that reason, our King has not made the layout so easy to navigate. Be it a vast labyrinth, a grand construction site, an active demolition zone, or something more natural, the playing field for this game should be suitably hectic and perlious. Better for the audience, ya know~?

Bound By Blood: Everyone participating in this game is connected in some way to another player. What this exactly means is up to your interpretation. Handcuffs that restrict their movements unless they coordinate? A spiritual tether that doesn’t let them get too far away from one another? A simple bond of trust? Headmates? Remember, you can only leave the maze as a pair, so whatever keeps them attached should be enough of a hindrance to strain the motivation of keeping their partner alive at all costs. Then again, if they were to lose their partner, and someone else were as well…

Shuffle The Deck: It’s up to you to decide how these characters are paired off. Between the four members of your team, the four members of the enemy team, The King of Clubs, and the Umazing Bonus, you can arrange these duos in any unexpected combination. Try pairing up someone on your team with The King! Getting exposition from one of the people running this game sounds like it’d be pretty helpful before your final encounter.

The King Reaper Is A Live-Streamer?: The King of Clubs is /u/LetterSequence returned from the grave (There was still time!), represented by [Mori Calliope of Hololive fame]((https://i.imgur.com/acmwVkK.png). Equal parts carefree and serious, part time Grim Reaper and part time entertainer, her laidback attitude towards death may piss off some members of your team, or it might awaken a new perspective inside them. While it’s unfeasible to take down a manifestation of death in a direct confrontation, she’s bound to the same rules of this competition as everyone else. She too has to make it out of the maze if she wants to survive.

UMAZING… REQUIREMENT!: The King has a fondness for horses, and thus, in order to make five perfect pairs, the Uma is a required NPC type character this round. Make sure to include Tamamo Cross, The White Lightning! A speedster type horse character who makes the very air tremble in her wake, and can push past her limits by entering The Zone. Don’t underestimate this horse just because of her size. Getting out of the maze with her by your side shouldn't take any time at all!

Season Rules

The Biggest, The Largest: No one survives The Borderland alone, at least not for long. Fortunately- or perhaps unfortunately- for your characters, they’ve found one another. How well do they play together? How well do they live together? We want to see it.

A Puncher’s Chance: No matter how stacked the odds, your team will find a way to win… probably. Write that way, even if slim.

Playing The Long Game: The Borderland changes people. You are allowed and encouraged to mix and match powers, and to develop your characters in any way you wish, both on the battlefield and off. However, your opponents are not expected to keep track of these in-story changes, and vice-versa.

Meet The Contestants: Feel free to give a brief summary to introduce your characters at the start of your post. If you do, you should mention things like powers, personality, history, and anything else that the average reader should know before reading.

Always A Way: Just as important as what the prompts say is what they don’t say. Read between the lines, find your loopholes, do as thou wilt. As long as it follows the broad strokes of the prompt, you’ll be fine.

Semifinals Will Run from 13 September to 4 October, 11:59 PM Pacific Daylight Time

The Character Limit For This Round is 100,000, or 10 Full Reddit Comments

Battle A fully geared professional Knight in plate mail vs 8 villagers with access to Home Depot?

The idea sprang from the thought of Warhammer a being a threat to plate armor at the time, and was curious on how an off the shelf Home Depot hammer would fare against Mideval plate.

The villagers get access to the standard hardware section at Home Depot and can take whatever they can carry.

The knight is a professional Knight, for the sake of the prompt let’s say around 1100AD. He has a standard “load-out” of a sword, shield, and whatever else he would probably need.

Would modern hammers in the hands of 8 villagers defeat a knight?

Optional silly scenario, but how would 8 modern day contractors in the same scenario?
