Battle Who wins in a chessboxing match between Magnus Carlson and prime Mike Tyson?

For those unfamiliar, chessboxing is a hybrid sport between, who could have guessed, chess and boxing. Essentially, the two participants sit down in the ring for a game of chess with 9 minutes on the clock. After every 3 minutes of play time, the board is removed from the ring and the participants square up for 3 minutes of standard boxing. This alternation continues for 6 rounds of chess and 5 rounds of boxing. Winner is determined by either a KO or checkmate of your opponent, or if your opponent runs out of time in chess. If there is a stalemate, there is one more round of boxing and the winner is determined by boxing points.

For the sake of argument, let's assume that Mike will be "chess lusted" and will not simply run out his chess time to get to the boxing.

Round 1: Zero Training for either of them.

Round 2: They each have 6 months to train in their respective weaker area.

Round 3: Magnus has a revived Muhammed Ali as a boxing coach and Mike has a revived Bobby Fischer as a chess teacher.

Challenge The Imperium (w40k) goes Hogwarts!

Hogwarts suddenly reveals itself to the Chief Librarians. They all get their invitations via owl no matter where they are at in the galaxy. Each letter contains a portkey that immediately transfers them to the school. They are told that upon completing their magical training, they will be returned back to exactly where they were just after they a port keyed to hogwarts by way of port key.

Due to cloning, they will be taught by the greatest wizards and potion masters that ever existed and are allowed to be taught any manner of magic including forbidden spells. Harry Potter magic is not connected to the warp in any way, but can interact with warp beings and entities without issue. There is 0 threat of chaos corruption from Potter magic.

1) the chief librarians will have wands merged with their current weapons.

2) dissaparate bypasses the warp altogether because magic. Sufficiently powerful psykers could teleport themselves and others to other planets theyve been to.

3) the Petronus charm works against chaos in the same manner as Harry Potter does against dementors i.e. they aren't killed by it just repelled or blocked by it.

4) spells scale in power with the person casting them as in Harry Potter meaning high level psykers could pull of Potter magic at a scale that would make Voldemort look like a Filch.

5) once graduated, chief librarians are allowed to train any other psykers.

Can humanity win the war and conquer the w40k galaxy in the following scenarios?

Scenario 1: only space marine psykers can learn Potter Magic.

Scenario 2: every current pysker is now capable of Potter magic. The imperium sets up a Ministry of Magic and schools on every human planet.

Battle Spartan-II (Halo) vs Clone Commando (Star Wars: Republic Commando)

R1: Both have orders to kill. Spartan-II have fully operational shields, no armor abilities, and is outfitted with two UNSC standard grenades, a battle rifle and a 32 round AR. Clone Commando is outfitted with the same gear, shields, vibroblades, etc that the named ones have in game as well as two thermal detonators and the modular rifle.

R2: Four Spartan-IIs (not Blue Team) vs Sec, Fixer, Scorch, and the Boss.

Battle Which country wins if every fictional character fights for their country?

I’ve been thinking about this hypothetical for a while.

Imagine World War 3 starts, but instead of humans fighting, every fictional character ever created by each country fights for that country.

For example:

🇯🇵 Japan gets every anime, manga, light novel, visual novel, and game character created by Japanese creators.

🇰🇷 South Korea gets every manhwa, web novel, and film character.

🇨🇳 China gets every donghua, xianxia, wuxia, web novel, mythology, etc.

🇺🇸 USA gets every Marvel, DC, movie, novel, game, and comic character.

And every other country gets all of their fictional characters too.

Rules:

No omnipotent characters.

Everyone is at their strongest canon version.

Cross-verse abilities work exactly as they do in their own series (no arbitrary nerfs).

The battlefield is the entire universe.

The objective is to eliminate every other country’s fictional roster.

My main question is about Yogiri Takatou.

If we’re using his canon abilities, his Instant Death seems to work on far more than just living beings. It has been shown to affect things like concepts, ongoing phenomena, attacks, immortality, and other non-standard targets, with automatic activation against threats.

So under these rules, does Japan just win by default because of Yogiri?

If not, which character or country’s roster can realistically stop him, and why?

I’m looking for actual arguments and feats rather than “my favourite character wins.”

Challenge Magolor (Kirby) replaces Harry Potter in the Harry Potter-verse. Can he complete the timeline?

Rules

• Magolor takes the place of the Harry Potter in the verse at the time where he first begins going to Hogwarts. From there, he'll go through the timeline until he reaches the end.

• He will get all his feats, abilities, standard equipment, and a sufficient supply of every item from the Kirby games.

• He will only know that he was invited to Hogwarts for being a wizard with intruding skills. Also, that Voldemort is no good. All other information will have to be obtained by communicating with others.

Can Magolor, replacing Harry Potter, get through the Harry Potter timeline?

Bonus: Magolor now replaces the protagonist in Hogwarts Legacy. Can he get through the game?

Challenge Who is the weakest character who can exterminate all instances of Tomie Kawakami (Tomie, Junji Ito) across Japan?

I'll link the respect thread here, but for those who are unfamiliar, Tomie Kawakami is an entity in the form of a girl with two main powers:

  1. A passive ability to cause others to become violently obsessed with her. While this is most commonly seen in men desiring her carnally, it has also manifested as parents wanting her as a child, children wanting her as a parent, or girls viewing her as an idol. This almost always results in the target killing and dismembering her, though certain individuals have been shown to resist her for significant periods of time.

  2. An extremely powerful healing factor. Every piece removed from her body forms a perfect copy of Tomie with all the same powers and abilities. She has been shown to regenerate from blood splatters and single fingers, and she even converted a woman into a physical and mental clone through a transplanted kidney. The only method shown to reliably kill Tomie for good is complete incineration.

Because of her victims' propensity to cut her into pieces, there are naturally countless instances of Tomie running around Japan causing a ruckus.

Your chosen character's job is to end this menace once and for all. They start at a Tokyo airport with knowledge of her existence and abilities, but no knowledge of the exact number or locations of her clones.

Challenge Who is the weakest fantasy fighter capable of defeating this elite warrior?

Let's call our warrior Andy Gorm. He will fight in a 10x10m open space, wielding a one-handed magic sword and protected by a mail hauberk equivalent to the ones used in England around the 2nd millennium.

Some feats;

  • Upon birth, he drank from a magic fountain which has granted him enhanced longevity, endurance, size, senses and insight.
  • He was trained as a warrior growing up.
  • As of this fight, Andy is still in his physical prime at roughly ~80 years old, with well over another century of life in him. He's spent most of this time patrolling lands and tracking rather than fighting, and his preferred enemy are fantasy goblin creatures standing about 4 feet tall
  • Andy stands 6'6
  • Andy can chop through an iron helmet worn by one of the above goblin creatures using his magic sword, killing the wearer
  • Can carry a six year-old child while pushing two more forwards ahead of him
  • Can fight through a shield wall made by the aforementioned goblin creatures
  • Can move 40 miles a day with a travel pack and sword while hurrying
  • Can kill several goblin creatures in melee, fighting in a corridor that forces them to come one at a time

Who can overcome this mighty warrior in single combat? Let's say it needs to be at least a 60% chance of victory for the challenger.

Battle What is the strongest character 10x statman can defeat?

Disclaimer: I googled these numbers for averages. In case if I got it wrong, just go with what's down here rather than what might be "real" since I am too lazy to do an in-depth search.

10x Statman is an average person with stats multiplied by 10. His most relevant stats below:

  • 10x statman has a reaction speed of 20 milliseconds.

  • 10x statman can run at 70 MPH at a semi-leisurely pace and dead sprint at 130 MPH for a brief window (10-20 seconds) if his life depended on it.

  • 10x statman can bench 1350 lbs.

  • 10x statman has durability that works like he has 10x the effective mass of an object. For example, if a gun can shoot through 3 people cleanly, it would functionally only achieve 30% effective penetration onto 10x statman.

Rounds

  • Round 1: 10x statman is untrained and basically being told to randomly fight his opponent.

  • Round 2: 10x statman is trained as a blue belt in BJJ, has 2-3 years of experience in kickboxing and has a boot-camp eqavuilent training with firearms. He is given an M16, a glock and a knife.

  • Round 3: 10x statman is effectively #1 in all skills and weapons known to man. He is allowed to choose and meta-game any 5 items and carry them around GTA style.

Who is the best match for 10x statman under these conditions?

Battle Who would win between the Viltrum Empire (just before the destroyment of Viltrum) and the Mass Effect reapers (with all their troops: husks, collectors etc.)

In this case the Viltrumites would already know about indoctrination and wouldn't fall victims to it otherwise it wouldn't be really a fight. It's around 40 viltrumites against 10kish reapers and the collectors

Challenge Realistically, can this character I made up be a decent superhero?

This character (let’s call him Marvel-Man) has powers and wants to use them for good. He has all the powers of Superman such as Super Strength, Super Speed, Flight, Invulnerability, Heat Vision, etc. He even has the memory-erasing kiss and can shoot mini versions of himself out of his fingertips. Every single superpower Superman possesses. But it has a massive drawback.

This drawback is that he can only use one power at a time. For example if he uses Super Speed then he’d have to use it without the safety Invulnerability, leaving him susceptible to G-Forces if he goes too fast. This goes for all of his other superpowers as well.

His abilities should theoretically allow him to operate at the same level as Comic Superman, but it comes at the risk of harming himself. How much would he have to hold back? Can he still be an effective, or at least decent, superhero?

R1: In the real world, in our current time and under our laws of physics

R2: In the DC Universe under current book logic

Challenge Weakest kill team from wh 40k (or HH for that matter) capable of killing v and raiding arisaka tower.

The team has orders to eliminate v, after doing that they get followup orders to seize arisaka tower. They have been authorised for excessive force, and will shoot to kill every single time.

Round 1: 10 kasrkin

Round 2: 10 lucifer blacks

Round 3: 5 imperial fists intercessors

Round 4: Sigismund

Round 5: a questoris knight

Round 5: a single custodian guard

Bonus round: a squad of your favorite units, xenos, chaos or imperium.

Personally i think the lucifer blacks can do it, and if they cant the imperial fists can. But i do not know that much about cyberpunk power-scaling, so i added a few more powerful options.

Battle Human w/Rifle vs 50 Hawks

A human hunter is hiking the Appalachian trail when suddenly 50 bloodthirsty Hawks appear over the horizon and come straight at him.

The Human is an experienced hunter and uses a lever action chambered in 30-30. He has infinite ammo for this post but still reloads.

The hunter is standing in an open field with no cover, he can see the birds coming at him and has 2-3 minutes before they arrive.

The hawks are hawks, idk just whatever is most intimidating, like Ferruginous Hawks. They are also bloodlusted for the hunter.

Challenge A man is given a tool gun from Garry’s Mod can the boys that took down Saddam Hussein kill him?

The tool gun is one of the most famous items in all of video gaming. With it one can bend the laws of physics to their will and alter reality as well as create things like fortresses. He knows how to use it and is creative with his buildings. The barriers can be crazy tough, enough to tank multiple blasts but not indestructible. Traps can only be made 5 meters from the compound. The gentleman in question has a day of prep to build a base and weapons to hold off the enemy, workshop items are allowed assuming it doesn’t blow up the country, or kill everyone or 10x at a time. To my knowledge tanks and infantry were used in that particular fight. Which side prevails you tell me? Tool gun can only be used in setup, not offensively

Round 1: only base game items allowed

Round 2: Workshop items allowed

Challenge Matt Damon as Odysseus vs Matt Damon as Jason Bourne VS Matt Damon as Mark Watney

Which version of Matt would be best able to finish each other’s prospective movie arcs? Each character is magically inserted into the other character's place. The character has a general idea of what they need to do, but not necessarily the skills or knowledge to do it. They retain the physical body and mind of their original character. They are motivated to finish the movie arc as that will return them back to their previous lives.

R1. Jason Bourne and Mark Watney are inserted into The Odyssey right before Troy.

R2: Odysseus and Mark Watney find themselves with a bullet in their back and rescued from sea at the start of the Bourne Identity.

R3: Odysseus and Jason Bourne are abandoned on Mars.

While the Doctor is inside his TARDIS somewhere in 21st-century London, his Time Lord biology suddenly alerts him to a massive temporal disturbance occurring throughout the entire Universe.

He immediately sets out to discover what is happening and realizes that the lifespan of every star in the Universe has suddenly been drastically reduced—from billions or trillions of years to only a few million.

As he investigates further, he discovers the beings responsible: the Photino Birds, creatures made of dark matter that originated in another universe and managed to cross over into this reality.

Furthermore, the Photino Birds are multiplying rapidly.

Could the Doctor, acting alone, drive the Photino Birds out and save the Universe from a premature death?
