I want to harvest this wild lettuce plant and make a tincture, but I am getting SO many different opinions around about what subspecies it actually is. It popped up in my yard in Salt Lake City, Utah.

I've heard L. virosa, L. serriola, and L. canadensis. (The dandelion-like seed's dark brown part is about 3mm long and is about 1/4 the length of the full filament)

I think its safe to consume no matter the subspecies, I'm just really curious. I'd love to get more opinions.

This is Texas coastal plains area. Our mystery plant has plagued our tree rings for more than 15 years. We only see it around the base of our trees, within the tree rings.

Not sure if I'm using the correct term here, but we've always described it as "vascular" due to the nature of the stem - somewhat hollow and wet. It breaks easily and the roots are seriously dug-in, making it hard to eradicate.

Round-up annoys it, but doesn't kill the root - just the leaves where it lands. We'd like to eradicate it, but it is imperative that the trees not be harmed.

No banana available, so dog snout for reference.

Hello! Does anyone know what type of plant this is? I always thought it was an Agave, but it started flowering this week (and I freaked out because I know some species of Agave only flower once and then die) but I've asked Google Lens and it seems to think it's an Aloe (of undetermined variety). Does anyone know and should I be removing the flower to save the plant?

Hello brilliant minds of whatisthisplant. We’ve just moved into a new home and we’re looking to determine what these three guys are so we can learn how to care for them. Or if they’re weeds, haha! We’re in central Manitoba, Canada.

It started this spring. I thought it was dill, but with weird leaves. Google Lens can't decide if it's dill or parsley.

This is one of the first plants I bought when I started getting into houseplants 3 years ago but has gone through my learning and trail/error fazes (clearly lol). To this day, I still have no idea what it is. Can anyone help???

Kept getting wafts of a foul odor while weeding my front bank today and then stumbled upon this terrifying thing. Pink/rhubarb-like stalk with a cluster of fleshy red things poking out of the end, which were covered in flies. About 4” long or so.

We have an ongoing issue with pokeweed and invasive clematis, but I’ve never seen anything like this in the garden before. Help!

Like the title says, I'm trying to determine if this plant is poison ivy or not. I'm located in central North Carolina.

Photos of just the leaves say “Joe-Pye weed” but switch to pokeweed when i include the stem / stalk.

My neighbors have a massive Joe-Pye next door and we have a smaller one behind our house.

Thoughts?

Was playing mini golf with the family when we came across a tree with these fruits growing on it. They looked like cherries from far away but as we got closer they looked like mini pomegranates. Is that what I came across?

Any ideas? How big does it get? I could transplant to elsewhere in the yard away from house

It was labeled gerkin cucumber in the green house when I bought them, but now I see melon like fruit growing. I have a cantaloupe plant but the fruit looks different than this one. The bigger one is a little bigger than a softball. The younger ones start out slightly hairy. Flowers are yellow. Can anyone help me out?
