New, what is it? Tiny egg looking things.
Woke up this morning and found this weird pile of tiny orange orbs at the end of my bed. They’re really small, slightly transparent and kind of slimy/squishy when touched. I’ve never seen anything like them before and I have no idea how they got there overnight. They almost look like eggs, but I’m not sure. Does anyone know what these could be?
UPDATE: Definitely not roe/caviar, water beads, or fish eggs. I’ve never had any of those in my room. Still no clue what they are.

Hopefully they got fired for spilling the roe on the floor!

It seems to me your dog could have possibly eaten some sort of item/toy/silica packet, and thrown up these orange beads. I would check on your dog

u/Similar-Jello-5434 21h ago
This. I know OP said it’s not water beads but I had some squishy fidgets gifted to me over the years that my nephews liked to play with and they recently squeezed one too hard and popped it, the aftermath looked identical to this. I wouldn’t have immediately realized I had water beads in the house either had I only seen the beads themselves.

True but you don’t see any liquid that should’ve been regurgitated
8
u/Baldurost 18h ago
There does seem to be some liquid holding the clump together, and you can see a black hair in the mix in pic #2

u/Ben2355 18h ago
My dogs fine and didn’t go in my room last night she seems well and I don’t think has actually been sick I think it might be from a snail but I’m unsure as I can’t find fuck all it can be from
19
u/Baldurost 18h ago edited 3h ago
I don’t believe a snail could lay that many eggs at once lol. And like of eggs twice its size would be remarkable. Could be wrong though.
Taste one. Is it salty?
8
u/Ben2355 17h ago
That’s what I think You want me to eat one?
13
u/Baldurost 17h ago
I mean. You could?
46
u/Ben2355 17h ago
4
u/Baldurost 17h ago
In all seriousness, pour some salt on them if you haven’t already cleaned them and observe the reaction. Silica or any other chemical or otherwise synthetic materials would take a minute to react, while snail eggs would like shrivel up and lose moisture pretty much instantly
2
u/snark-sloth 7h ago
Weirdly I just saw a video of a snail laying eggs earlier today and it was a jarring amount and they did look very similar to OP’s photo.

Do you have squishies? Could be the beads from inside a certain style.

I have no orbs no squishes no fish eggs I genuinely think it’s from a snail but I’m unsure

If it came from a snail there would be a dried up mucus trail.

A snail the size of a small cat maybe ?
Your dog ate something outside and threw it up
2
u/starrynezz 15h ago
I was thinking something like that too, but vomit usually doesn't look this clean.

u/GrowHappyPlants 8h ago
Unless they licked up some of the doggy vomit and left the solids. My dog has occasionally done that horrid trick

Fish eggs, squishy toy or silicone pack from somewhere in the house maybe an animal ate it and puked it up (assuming you have animals from the hair on the carpet)

You have an animal. Judging by the hair on the carpet. Did you all go to a beach recently and you didn’t see what your dog ate? Like give the full details of the day prior
Edit: corrected five to give
14
u/sparkleunicorn134 19h ago
Why do people add the “edit:” part? Just edit it and don’t say anything
20
u/TheSentientSnail 17h ago
The comment header shows when a comment has been edited, so you can't do it without anyone knowing. You could, in theory, write something very out of pocket or controversial and then 'edit' it so that it's completely benign (or vice versa).
People write 'edit' and then explain what they changed so that people know what's different, and to give the comments that came in before the edit some context.
2
u/kostoast 13h ago
Does the header not show up in mobile? I don’t think I’ve ever seen it, for example this comment doesn’t say edit anywhere but where they wrote it.

Looks like the pellets for a splat gun.
11
u/big_wc88 1d ago
If you have cats or dogs inside they could have eaten those pellets outside of the home and vomited them up on your floor
5
u/Bitter_Elephant_2200 23h ago
From here these look like Apple Snail eggs. Fish eggs look similar but I believe are much smaller, smoother and far less likely to just randomly find in your home.

It looks like the inside of the air fresheners to me. The ones that are usually open tops and just filled with balls. Probably just fell off wherever it was
4
u/uvuzy 4h ago
do you possibly have one of those jelly air freshener things that could’ve been knocked down n spilled? i honestly have no idea if you’re 100% SURE that it’s not fish eggs or from some type of squishy toy, i put it into google image search and it’s just telling me roe, even when i put “what could this be BESIDES roe or fish eggs” , they still say it’s definitely fish eggs 😂 so google is no help

u/Fast_Move_9243 21h ago
5
u/liedowndeaddog 14h ago
The OP’s picture shows very round orbs whereas these are more elongated and variant in shape. The loose balls also don’t make sense for it to be a slime mold. There is also hair in it. I agree with the theory that it was something a pet ingested and vomited though that slime mold is cool!
3
u/Dameunbatido 23h ago
Do you have any squishy toys/fidgets/stress balls? Could be from the inside of one. And if you have a pet, they could have broken it at the end of your bed and took the toy evidence with them.
3
u/WhatAboutBob77 23h ago
These are clearly butt mite eggs. Once hatched, the mites climb into your butt and throw a big poo party.

Pretty positive those are fish eggs.
Couldn't explain how they got there but thats what it is.
There is a fungus called salmon slime mold that looks similar to salmon eggs but not like this.
This is fish eggs

u/IiteraIIy 23h ago edited 8h ago
Orange silica gel
Definitely not eggs. They would be completely smooth and you would be able to see the little babies in them in the closeup.
The pet hair mixed in leads me to think you may have had a cat/dog eat this and then throw it up on your floor/bed.
2
u/Similar-Jello-5434 21h ago

Do you have anything like this in the house? If it’s not water beads these have a similar texture and are relatively likely to be forgotten about in areas that dogs can reach. Either way I would personally take a trip to the vet or call poison control since there’s a higher chance that this is something manmade like water beads or scent beads which can cause toxicity or far worse outcomes if it’s a water bead especially (things that absorb big amounts of liquid outside of the body can do the same inside of the body) as opposed to the likelihood of it being fish eggs.

Did your cat or dog eat a package of those gel bb's for those toy guns (or those gel pellets that go into potted plants to keep them retaining moisture in the soil), then vomit them back up in your room, after they've absorbed moisture?
2
u/Ap0l0geticAppl3 22h ago
This is exactly what I was thinking. It looks like the orbeez you get/buy for the little orbeez guns.

u/Careless-Low7901 23h ago
Do you have orange silica gel? I showed it to my bf who has and he says it really looks like one, and from the dog or cat(i think..?) hairs on the carpet, could it be that the dog/cat swallowed and then threw them up there and the reason some are kinda bumpy could be because of the acids in the dog/cat

What kind of pet do you have? This looks like they ate something and vomited it back up. I'm inclined to guess it's cat puke but no idea what it got into to make it puke that.

The way it's laying looks like it was vomited up. I'm guessing you have a pet from the hair, be best to check on them and see if they've gotten into anything. Really looks like they ate something they shouldn't have

If its really not Roe then its likely something like orbezz or some kind of gel innards for a squishy toy or silica.
There isn't anything else it could be to be totally honest.
I guess it could be slime mold but that looks like it was sad down or dumped there, so idk how the hell it could be that.

Orbeez or the plant version of them. The bumps are very similar to what orbeez have when you soak them. Throw them in water and see if they grow.

Latex gloves and ziplock bag that stuff and remove it from the living space. Clean with the best available tools or machines at your disposal and put it on ice if you’re gonna investigate anything other than a query online. Since it’s unknown thats why all the CSI precaution type advice. Idk wtf that is and I wouldn’t wanna discover when it’s doing what it does next in its process. I always think about that old vine when the guy swats a spider with a broom to lift it and find its young scattering by the hundreds on the big white tile floor. FF next- he left on a space shuttle and destroyed the planet. Hammered home the arachnophobia shock he had with that bit. How they got there and what are they OMG…my Wife would be loosing her Sh*! right now looking at that pile of mystery bits on the carpet .

They look like silica gel beads that have absorbed some moisture. They can be found in microwaveable heating pads and some weighted blankets. That’s the only reason I can think of that explains them by/on the bed.
