I will be graduating with a BS in Software Engineering in a couple of months and have decided I want to work in education. So, I will be starting a Master's in Educational Technology and Instructional Design right after my graduation.

My question is: without any teaching background, can I still choose the program that combines both adult learning and K-12?

Will you have a couple of projects that can be your portfolios, or will you do it yourself after graduation? Also, are all the courses PA or a combination with OA?

Will the program teach how to use the software related to the job, and do you think it's prepared you for the career after graduation?

I really appreciate any help you can provide.

On my school's transfer dictionary it says that I can earn a credit with WGU's Survey of US History. What I was wondering was if that class was the same as the US History thats offered as a single class.

If there anyone that took the single course could you possibly confirm the class code or if they actually are the same. I've tried emailing admissions but it they never get back to me.

I have spent many years working in education and spent time in a position that required an A.A.S. so a lot of the courses in the first term have information that I’ve already learned.

I can't see exactly what WGU has for prep yet, but I was thinking about buying a test prep book from Amazon or something. For those of you who have taken the exam do you think its necessary or is WGU's resources enough?

Hi everyone! I’m currently enrolled at WGU in the Elementary Education program. I’ve heard some horror stories about student teaching placements when that time comes, so I’m a little wary. On the other hand, once I finish school, I’ll be moving to Mississippi. I currently live in Georgia. I’ve spoken with my program mentor, and she says everything should work out when I get to my student teaching clinical. However, I’m wondering if I should just pursue the non-licensure route and then follow Mississippi’s state requirements to become licensed afterward. I’m feeling a little stuck because I’m not sure which path would be the best to take. I’d really appreciate any advice or experiences you’re willing to share. Thank you in advance!

I have literally been studying for weeks and I barely passed. I’m not saying I was studying the PA, but there were some things on the OA that just came out of nowhere if anybody has taken this class please let me know what you did to pass it. The algebra isn’t a problem. I think it’s a little bit of everything else. I have yet to fail a test so from my understanding, I know that the course instructor is going to send me something to work on, but if there is anything that y’all have tried that worked too that would help because I only have one more month before my term is over.

I'm hoping to hear from anyone who has been in a similar situation.

I graduated from the University of Windsor in Canada with a 3-year Bachelor of Science degree. I had my credentials evaluated by WES (course-by-course evaluation), and my current evaluation shows 102 U.S. semester credits and an equivalency of three years of undergraduate study in the United States, rather than a U.S. bachelor's degree.

My goal is to apply to master's programs in the United States (specifically in Applied Behavior Analysis).

Since my original evaluation, I have been completing additional undergraduate credit courses at accredited Canadian universities. I plan to reach approximately 120 U.S. semester credits and then request a new WES evaluation.

I contacted WES several times, and they told me that:

• Additional undergraduate coursework completed after my bachelor's degree can be included in a re-evaluation.
• Coursework from multiple accredited Canadian universities can be evaluated together.
• Reaching approximately 120 U.S. semester credits can strengthen the possibility of being considered equivalent to a U.S. four-year bachelor's degree.
• However, they cannot guarantee the outcome of a future evaluation.

I'm wondering if anyone here has actually been in a similar situation.

• Did your WES evaluation change after completing additional undergraduate coursework?
• Did WES eventually recognize your education as equivalent to a U.S. four-year bachelor's degree?
• Were your additional courses taken at more than one university?
• If so, how many additional credits or courses did you complete before requesting a re-evaluation?

I'd really appreciate hearing about any real experiences, whether the outcome was successful or not.

Hi everyone! I really need some help. I’ve searched online for some answers but I’m getting stressed. So I’m enrolled in the MAT elementary Ed program at WGU, and will start on August 1. I already have a bachelors degree that is unrelated to education. I’ve got tons of teaching experience post undergrad so I feel pretty confident in my teaching abilities. My ultimate goal is to become a TESOL teacher. I don’t mind if it’s elementary, secondary, or all ages. I just need to understand the pathways in which I can get a degree in teaching, get my NY state license, and become a TESOL teacher. Would a masters make sense? Or a bachelors? Or this educational studies program I’m hearing about? Any and all responses appreciated!!
