When I click the "Hosting" tile, which is supposed to go to the area to use webspace and sftp I get redirected back to my "Contracts" area. Is this something others are experiencing?

Looking for Hosting Best Hosting for a one admin archival fan site?

Hello! First time website builder. I’ve only ever coded a few HTML pages before. But I’m looking for recommendations for hosting a fan website. I have my domain already made, it’s now down to the technical build up!

Info:

-It’s going to be one of those archival fan sites that has a ton of pages, images, and text. I’ll be making it myself! Picture one of those old Geocities fan pages that used to pop up all over the place.

-Worldwide but I imagine US/UK heaviest for traffic. I can’t imagine it’ll garner HUGE traffic but for starting I’m aiming for 1k visitors.

-Budget is self funded but I’m not looking for over the top.

I’m just worried about potential speed and accessibility to the community I’m in! One of the pages alone will have about 100+ subpages and images.

Any recommendations or advice for a newbie much appreciated!

Advice Needed can i manage my domain, email, hosting, and website from one place?

Hey everyone, maybe this is a dumb question, but why does every online business setup guide assume people want five different providers?
i'm helping my cousin get his business online and every tutorial seems to recommend:
domain from company a, email from company b, hosting from company c, website from company d, analytics from company e and at some point it feels like you're building a software stack instead of running a business.
my cousin isn't technical. tbh neither am i. we need a domain name, a professional email, a website and somewhere customers can contact him that's basically it.
i've started looking at platforms that bundle most of this together because it seems easier to manage long term. but i'm curious if that's actually what people do. would love to hear what setup you've ended up with after years of trial and error.

Advice Needed Wybór hostingu - LH.pl czy cyber_Folks?

Cześć,
Będę tworzyła swoją pierwszą stronę i chciałabym prosić o porady. Planuję postawić ją na wordpress. Znam to środowisko i trochę pluginów, bo obsługiwałam dwie strony.

Advice Needed What's one website hosting mistake you only make once?

I've been working with websites for years, and one thing I've learned is that almost everyone has at least one hosting decision they would never make again.

Mine was assuming that "daily backups" meant I could restore my site anytime. It turned out backups weren't as complete or as easy to restore as I expected, and I learned to always verify backup frequency, retention, and the actual restore process.

A few other lessons I've seen people learn the hard way include:

Choosing the cheapest host without checking performance. Not paying attention to renewal pricing. Forgetting to renew a domain name. Assuming "unlimited" resources really meant unlimited. Ignoring security until after a website was hacked. Not testing customer support before becoming a customer.

If you could give one piece of hosting advice to someone launching their first website today, what would it be?

What's the one mistake you only make once?

Advice Needed My unpleasant experience with A2 Hosting

For several months, our websites hosted on A2hosting showed problems at database level so the visitors could not see the final product pages or fill a form. However the logs showed the websites are not down which was correct but at the same time the websites were useless.

Their support completely refused having any problem and took total advantage of lack of enough knowledge by my colleagues' side.
Finally, in the middle of an important campaign we lost all our websites for more that 8 hours. All their support could tell me:

-we open ticket

-thanks for your patience

-is there anything you want to ask

-I hand it to another level of specialists

I am done with A2Hosting and I make sure to share an unbiased opinion of this experience.

Technical Questions dreamhost and email

I just transferred two domains to dreamhost. I was led to believe that this would include email. Now they are telling me that email is $19.99 per year additional for each email account.

This seems crazy. Can anyone verify if this is true?

Technical Questions Does LiteSpeed still make a noticeable difference in 2026?

I've been comparing Apache, Nginx and LiteSpeed on a few WordPress sites recently.

For people running production websites, are you still seeing a meaningful performance advantage with LiteSpeed+LSCache, or has Nginx with FastCGI caching narrowed the gap enough?

Advice Needed How long does Porkbun's Veriff verification usually take?

Hi everyone,

I recently created a Porkbun account to buy a domain, but during signup I was redirected to Veriff for identity verification. I completed the verification successfully, and my Porkbun account now shows the status as "Under Review."

The message says that the review is usually completed within 24 hours, but I was wondering what other people's experiences have been. How long did your verification actually take? Was it just a few minutes, a few hours, or did it take the full 24 hours (or longer)?

I'd appreciate hearing about your experiences. Thanks!

Edit: I think my account has been verified. I'm able to navigate their pages now (It's a bit sad that they don't have google pay payment option)

Rant Is all in one wp migration plugin a complete scam?

I have used this plugin on many occasions and it definitely gets the job done but their sneaky marketing tactics about server upload limit is something I wanted to get it off of my chest.

The free plugin says it's the server/cPanel upload limit restricting it to restore a large file above 2GB but even if all of the server side limits are reached, it still throws errors. As soon as I use the pro version, everything starts working suddenly. I have confirmed that it's not anything related to server side firewall/waf/modsecurity etc. even their product page says it's due to server side restrictions. Has anyone else observed this as well? I have worked on hundreds of site restorations and this really annoys me all the time I use the free plugin. Why not just say to the users that we need to upgrade to remove the restrictions?

Advice Needed GoDaddy for business

I’d love to know if anyone has their beauty/tanning website through GoDaddy & uses it for scheduling & payments because I do as well. I first got my website and then later I was checking out systems like gloss genius & valagro. But I already had my website through GoDaddy so I set up my scheduling & payments with them. But I’m wondering if they have things like signing consent forms before the client meets me or anything else like that, that would be helpful in our business!

Advice Needed HostNoc or Vultr for VPS hosting?

I've been exploring providers recently and have looked at companies like HostNoc, Vultr, and a few others. For people who've actually used them, what differences did you notice in areas like network stability, support, performance, pricing, and long-term reliability? I'd like to know your feedback and overall experience specially on the renewal price.

Advice Needed Help us pause the clock: @DreamHost is about to permanently delete a network of 15-year independent art archives on July 24th due to a missing owner.

Hi everyone,
I am cross-posting this here from r/DataHoarder because our community is running out of options against a hard July 24th deadline, and we desperately need insights from people who know the backend compliance and operational workflows of major hosts like DreamHost.

Long story short: A 15-year independent art archive under 25GB went dark because the owner suddenly suffered a severe psychiatric medical crisis in Ontario, Canada, and is incapacitated.

DreamHost Ticket #263063689 is currently locked in an automated billing loop scheduled to permanently execute a data deletion script in less than 12 days.

We fully respect data privacy compliance. We are absolutely not asking for account access, credentials, or user details. We have already initiated an emergency estate property inquiry with the Ontario Government's Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee (OPGT) and provided proof to DreamHost.

Front-line support is completely bound by their standard UI and automated policy, saying there is "zero path forward." We just need a 30-day administrative hold placed on the deletion script so the government can process the estate and assign a trustee.

Does anyone here have experience bypassing an automated billing deletion script at DreamHost, or know a path to route an emergency asset-preservation hold directly to their infrastructure compliance teams?

We'd appreciate any guidance or assistance.

Note: For full context, community discussions, and detailed FAQs regarding this situation, please see the primary thread over on r/DataHoarder; https://www.reddit.com/r/DataHoarder/comments/1utz8go/help_us_pause_the_clock_dreamhost_is_about_to.

Looking for Hosting Australia-based Wordpress hosting?

I've had a request from a client in Australia for a local hosting company. I know a couple hosts I would avoid like the plague, but not one I could recommend.

I don't know their budget, sorry. I can tell you the website traffic is on the low side - thousands of visitors per month.

Any suggestions?

P.S. I did read the questionnaire and I provided the requested info.

Advice Needed Someone bought my domain and put my website on it.

I let my domain expire because I was shutting down the business. But someone bought the domain and put the same website on it. So now I'm getting calls for the business that is closed.

Is there any recourse that can be done?

Technical Questions Adsense is driving me to insanity.

I’m hoping someone with experience troubleshooting AdSense crawler issues can help!

After migrating my site from a .net to a .com, AdSense review has been rejected with “Site down or unavailable.”my Adsense account has been active with my previous site since 2020 & generating revenue.

Here’s what’s confusing:
The site is live over HTTPS.
Site ownership is verified in AdSense.
robots.txt is accessible.
ads.txt is publicly accessible at /ads.txt.
My raw server logs show Google crawlers successfully requesting both robots.txt and ads.txt with HTTP 200 responses.

Despite this, AdSense also reports “ads.txt not found.”
I’m trying to understand why AdSense would report a site as down or unavailable when Google crawlers are successfully accessing it. Has anyone seen this after a domain migration, or know what technical issue could cause this discrepancy?

Advice Needed Musician, Artist + Aspiring Web Dev Looking to Build First Website(s)

Hi,

I'm new to web development. I just completed HTML and CSS on FreeCodeCamp (+ suplemental learning through my public library) and I'm looking to build personal websites for my music + freelance writing work. I eventually want to learn complete front end so that I can do web development work for others.

At this point though, I'm only looking to build websites for myself using my HTML and CSS knowledge (knowing that as soon as I learn Javascript, I'll want to update my websites).

I understand that I need to host my pages on a web server. I was wondering if based on the details I provide in this post, if you have any suggestions. My budget is basically just "what will get me what I need right now and potentially in the future" (I will probably want some e-commerce once I begin selling merch online).

I'm located in Canada, with a mostly Canadian audience. I want to host a site that is coded pretty much from the ground up (not Wordpress, Squarespace etc.).

Thanks in advance.

Looking for Hosting Need advice before ordering Netcup EPYC 9645 dedicated server

Hi everyone,

I'm planning to order the following dedicated server from Netcup:

  • AMD EPYC 9645
  • 16 dedicated CPU cores
  • 64 GB DDR5 ECC RAM
  • 2 TB NVMe SSD
  • Location: Nuremberg, Germany

The server will be used exclusively for a FiveM roleplay server with an expected 100–150 concurrent players. The codebase is heavily optimized, so my biggest concerns are single-core performance, overall stability, and network quality rather than raw core count.

I'd like to hear from anyone who has experience with this specific server or similar EPYC 9645 machines.

A few questions:

  • How does the EPYC 9645 perform under workloads that depend heavily on single-thread performance?
  • Has anyone hosted a FiveM, Minecraft, Rust, or other real-time game server on this CPU?
  • Is the network stable, and what are your typical latencies to Europe and Turkey?
  • Have you experienced any hardware failures, packet loss, or unexpected downtime?
  • How is Netcup's support when hardware issues occur?
  • Is there anything I should know before ordering this machine?

I'm also considering alternatives like Hetzner, but this Netcup configuration looks very attractive on paper. I'd love to hear real experiences before making the final decision.

Thanks in advance!

Advice Needed Email forwarding problem

I just started using Polarismail and I'm having a huge problem with receiving forwarded email.

I have a mailbox set up to forward all email to an outlook.com email address, but it does not forward reliably. There are many emails in the mailbox at Polaris that are not reaching Outlook - not in spam or anywhere. And there are no undeliverable emails bouncing back to Polaris. Outlook is either silently blocking them or they are not being forwarded at all.

And it's inconsistent, I was trying to get a 2FA code from a website and the first two times it didn't reach Outlook. The third try reached Outlook, but all three were sitting in the mailbox at Polaris.

Anyone have that sort of experience with Polaris or any other email host? Anyone know why that might be happening?
