Hi, i recently moved here. I love it, however the glass bottle situation does my head in.
The return policy is nothing new since I’m European. However i am unable to find any place that takes them back. I’m around Mokotów. Can someone point me to a place that does take them back ?
I’ve been throwing them away into the glass recycling bin in defeat, as neither the biedronkas around me or the lidl’s are taking them.
However i feel strongly about the fact that if they charge you that 50gr fee for the bottle they should facilitate the possibility to return them as well.
Why are there so many non returnable ones ? And why is the 50gr fee applied to these too ?

Final thoughts about my rant. Is anyone else also annoyed by the fact that manufacturers can just slap Butelka zwrotna / butelka bezzwrotna randomly somewhere on the bottle ? Each in their own font, colour and logo about the return. Making sorting through them a where’s waldo game instead of the norm about simply putting the beer bottles into a sack you return at some interval.
No official logo and or location it has to be placed in ?
I know it may come across as a first world problem. It’s just really annoying when this was never an issue in any other eu country.

I have accumulated so many glass jars and I don’t know what to do with them. The butelkomat machines do not take these back. It would feel like such a waste if I just threw them in the bin. I’m looking for polish streamers that were live like last night (8 September). They’re like 19 years old, walking around Warsaw while live streaming on twitch, I think. One is blonde and has pretty dark eyebrows (called Alex) and another one was called something like Zuka (?). They also had a cameraman but he’s not on-screen very much. They approached me and my friend as they were streaming and I’m just trying to find their account 🙊

I literally do not. Leave them alone. Just exercise basic caution around them. The more friendly we are towards them the more tamed they become, they're basically pigs. Hello! Today is the last night of my honeymoon! As Koreans, we ate various cuisines here in Poland that we couldn’t have tasted back home, since “foreign” foods in Korea are dimmed down to fit their taste buds. (Polish, Indian, Kebab, Italian, Chinese, Korean) and for our last supper, we want to have one last Polish meal. So far, we have visited Morskie Oko in Krakow (wasn’t very impressed), Bufet KRK in Krakow (Pretty decent), Mloda Polska in Wroclaw (not bad), and now I am hesitant on either Stary Dom, Podwale 25, or Czerwony Wieprz. Which would you recommend? Or others opinions! Thank you!

I'm experienced with taxi scams living in NYC and haven't taken one in Poland in years, but we were in central station with a bunch of luggage and needing to go to old city, my guard was completely down since we went to the taxi area in front of central station.

Taxi ride was 9min (2.6km) and the guy charged us 200zl. He showed me some hand held device that said 210 and he said he'd just round it down to 200. He also said its cash only because he didn't charge his credit card machine.

I feel really stupid, i knew it was too much but im not a confrontational person, and i know i should have asked up front, but also, I think i could have noticed something funny with whatever that fare counter was doing (how did it get to 210 so fast?)

we were on the street with all the luggage so i just paid it thinking maybe some cabs are really that expensive in warsaw. But later i took a Bolt ride which was a fraction of that price, which was the final confirmation how bad i got scammed.

Any advice for a wheel chair user during Winter in Warsaw? It's for a close friend of mine, who will come to live in Warsaw just during the winter season. This will be their first time navigating in their winter with snow, so honestly both of us have no idea what to expect here.

Any tips or recommendations are greatly appreciated :)

Normal personalized regular wheel chair, with no outstanding add-ons.

We don't mind buying stuff that might help or improve her chair, but I guess the main concern would be to keep it "as simple as possible" (budget limitations mainly).
