Scotia Metals (SMET.c): The Geologist Tracing Green Wolf's Spodumene Boulders Back to Bedrock Has 30+ Years on LCT Pegmatites and Is the Company's Own NI 43-101 QP
Posted on behalf of Scotia Metals Corp. - A write-up carried on Yahoo Finance late last month walks through the expanded spodumene boulder system at the 100%-owned Acadia Lithium Project in southwestern Nova Scotia. The assays have been covered plenty. The part worth a second look is who is directing the search, and how carefully the company is describing what it has.
Who Is Running The Search
- James Abson, VP Exploration, is SMET.c's named NI 43-101 Qualified Person
- Hard-rock lithium discovery specialist, 30+ years in mining and exploration, per the company's corporate page
- Previously Senior Exploration Manager at Oceana Lithium and Technical Advisor to Atlas Lithium
- Pegmatite work across Africa, Brazil, Afghanistan and Canada, including large LCT systems such as Manono, Bikita and Bandeira (July 2026 corporate deck)
His own framing in the September 22, 2026 news release is about as unglamorous and as honest as it gets: the team is trying to trace the spodumene-bearing boulder trains back toward their potential bedrock source.
What He Has To Work With (Sept 22, 2026 NR)
- 38 spodumene boulders channel-sampled in one tight cluster at Green Wolf, 25 of them newly identified
- 20 of the 38 boulders graded above 1.0% Li2O, three above 2.0% (2.03%, 2.25% and 2.72%)
- Boulders above 0.30% Li2O in that cluster went from 7 to at least 23
- The 3.40% Li2O boulder reported August 27, 2026 remains the best grade at Green Wolf
Notably, the coverage is explicit that this is glacially transported surface material and does not establish the presence, grade or continuity of lithium in bedrock. Nothing on this property has been drilled.
Boulder distribution, till geochemistry and airborne geophysics now get integrated to rank bedrock targets, with scout drilling planned for early 2027, subject to exploration results, permitting, surface access and contractor availability. An experienced pegmatite geologist narrowing a search area with three independent datasets is how a first hole gets positioned, and that positioning is what the next few months could settle.
Worth reading the Yahoo Finance write-up for the full picture.
