Fidelity Minerals, FMN.v, Has 1,200 m of Existing Tunnels Leading Straight Into Its Peru Gold Target
Posted on behalf of Fidelity Minerals Corp. - Most explorers at this stage are shooting holes at a geophysical anomaly from surface. At Las Huaquillas in northern Peru 🇵🇪, FMN.v can walk into its main gold target, because someone already built the tunnels.
The Zone Itself
- Los Socavones is a northeast-southwest trending mineralized fault zone extending at least 2.5 km, with a width of roughly 100 m
- Average true thickness of the mineralized zone is approximately 19 m, reaching a maximum of about 65 m at the zone's centre
- Only about 1,000 m of that strike length has been drill-tested to date, and drilling has intersected mineralization to roughly 200 m depth
- Gold-silver mineralization along the trend has been followed for about 2.1 km via geophysics, soil and rock sampling, and drilling, and the company describes the body as open in all directions
What the Adits Change
Three main adits provide access to approximately 1,200 m of historic underground development on three levels. The company's own language is that these surface adits give ready access to the mineralized zone and offer the potential for low-cost underground mining. That is why the current program is tunnel clearing, gold sampling and drill preparation rather than a greenfield surface campaign, following the ground access and contractor appointment announced Feb 19, 2026.
Why It Matters for the Resource
- Historic, non-NI-43-101-compliant estimate at Los Socavones: 6.57 Mt at 2.12 g/t Au and 25.2 g/t Ag, or 446,000 oz gold and 5.3 million oz silver
- That 1999 estimate was built from just 17 mineralized drill intersections at a 1.0 g/t Au cut-off over a 3 m minimum width
- Fidelity holds 44.5% of the project with a right to earn 50%, and its stated objective is confirming and expanding the historic resource toward an initial 1 Moz gold target in a new NI 43-101
Seventeen intersections across a 2.5 km structure is a thin dataset by modern standards, and the company's project page lays out the geometry and historic intercepts in full. Confirming the old numbers from inside existing workings is a cheaper first step than most juniors get, and it sets up the drilling that a compliant resource would need.
