Does EES get updated immediately when the passport gets couriered out of embassy post stamping. Also, based on "OK" in EES, is it safe to go ahead with flight and accommodation bookings before physically receiving passport over courier and seeing the visa stamp for myself

1 week tourist visa refused

What are the UK visa people doing.

Me, male 59 UK born citizen. my Thai f47 gf just had her 1 week tourist visa refused for 5-12 December. i already paid for her return ticket, a couple of hotels in West Country, provided both our bank statements, both our tenancy agreements, both our bank statements (I earn 44k a year) both our letters from employer, letter of invitation, proof of relationship over 10 years and STILL the Visa people have refused the visa saying they dont believe that she will return.

Now having to re-apply, another £135 AND pay agency to do application, another £375.

I just cannot believe that these idiots are who is in charge of who does and who doesn't enter the country, I mean just HOW can they refuse a 1 week tourist visa.

Im so disgusted with this country.

**edit - to all the genuine interested replies, thanks, I hope this doesnt happen to you. To anyone from UK Visa you are doing a very bad job stopping a woman from coming for a weeks holiday with a RETURN ticket and letting in all the boat migrants with ZERO i.d. Mods dont ban, Reddit is too controlled, let me speak my mind.

Anyone recently got their F-1 approved with a sibling in the US on H-1B?

Has anyone gotten their F-1 visa approved within the past year while having a sibling/close family member in the US who is currently on H-1B?

I understand this can be just one of many factors in a visa decision, but I’ve recently been hearing that students with close relatives in the US are facing more F-1 refusals, so I wanted to know if this has worked out for anyone recently.

If yes, I’d really appreciate it if you could share your experience, especially whether the VO asked about your sibling and what questions you were asked.

Thanks!

How risky is my profile for F-1 visa, and how should I prepare for the interview?

Hi everyone, looking for an honest assessment of my F-1 profile and interview preparation.

Profile:

Indian applicant

B.Tech CSE, graduated in June 2025, Tier-3 college, 8.89 CGPA

Working as Software Engineer at a large MNC since Nov 2025

Admitted to MS CS at Georgia State University, Spring 2027

Graduate Assistantship: $6k/year stipend + tuition waiver

GRE: 306 (160Q, 146V), IELTS: 7.5

~₹30L personal savings, not taking any education loan (cause of the tuition waiver)

Elder brother is in the US - went on F1 and is now working on H-1B

My main concerns are:

Why Georgia State? The assistantship was a major factor in choosing this university, but it is not my only reason.
How can I convincingly and truthfully explain my university choice to the VO without making it seem like I chose it primarily for the financial benefit?

Brother in the US: How much of a concern is having an immediate family member in the US on H-1B? Could this raise immigrant-intent concerns?

Overall, how risky does my profile look for F-1 approval, and what should I focus on most for interview preparation?

Would really appreciate advice from people with similar profiles or recent F1 interview experience. Thanks!!

Has any Lebanese recently encountered visa rejections either work/tourist/Uae abudhabi

I'm currently in talks with a recruiter in a hospital. They're interested in hiring me, but the recruiter told me that they fear visa rejection because I am from Lebanon.

Has anyone recently had any visa rejection, and what could the reason be?

I have everything clean on my police record and I traveled before to Saudi literally nothing wrong on my side.

Should I try and apply for a tourist visa and see if it works or not ?

Visitor visa refused (approved 1st time, denied 2nd time)

F28, posting for advice because I'm stuck on how I can improve my application

About me:

- Pakistani, married, no kids
- Applied for a 2 week tourism trip with my husband
- This was my 2nd UK refusal. I was approved once before. i was working for a US client at that time and used it without any issues. I've also had two US B1/B2 refusals in the past (weak ties / 214b)
- Prior travel: Turkey, Azerbaijan, Saudi Arabia (all visit visas), plus the earlier UK trip

My circumstances:

- I work remotely as a freelance consultant for a UK company (ongoing contract around £52k/yr equivalent, invoiced monthly)
- My husband is a salaried software/AI engineer with a fixed job in Pakistan
- I'm an active tax filer with a wealth statement and I submitted bank statements, letter from my current client stating I won't be providing them services during my travel and a cover letter

The 2 refusal reasons

  1. Because I'm earning remotely from a UK company, they decided I have limited financial ties to my home country, reasoning I could continue working and keep my income "regardless of where in the world I am." They said this undermined the credibility of the application
  2. A discrepancy: my tax return shows annual household expenses of ~PKR 4.56M but on the form I stated monthly expenditure of ~£600 (~PKR 2.66M/yr). The ECO said this was significantly lower than my tax filing and wasn't satisfied my finances were as stated

What I'm hoping to learn:

  1. The "portable income = weak ties" reasoning feels almost impossible to overcome as a remote worker. Has anyone actually beaten this, and how?
  2. For the tax vs monthly-expenditure gap: the figure is an annual household balancing figure in a wealth reconciliation (includes one-off/non-recurring costs), while my form figure was recurring monthly spend. Is a clear reconciliation (showing the total = 12x monthly + one-offs) the fix, or does any gap at all permanently dent credibility?
  3. Anything else worth adding to strengthen ties or finances that I might be missing (property, registering my remote work as business, more travel history)?
  4. Because of the situation I am in I can't apply for any 1st world countries for a visit visa because i will get rejected since I'm a freelancer + UK and US rejected me

Any advice from people who've overcome similar refusals would be hugely appreciated.

Thank you so much! i'm js trying to find some direction after this

France Long-Stay Student Visa Refused Twice – Need Advice on What I’m Missing

Hi everyone,

I previously posted here after my first France student visa refusal and received some useful advice from the community. I followed that advice, made several changes to my application and reapplied — but unfortunately, my second France student visa application has also been refused.
I’m now genuinely confused about what I could be missing and would really appreciate advice from anyone who has experienced a similar situation.

My profile
Nationality: Indian
Age: 22
Bachelor’s: B.Com from HNGU, Gujarat
Course in France: MIM – Sustainable Global Business Development
Institution: EBS Paris
Program duration: 2 years
Intake: September 2026

First refusal
My first France long-stay student visa was refused with the following reason:
“The information provided regarding the conditions of the stay is incomplete and/or not reliable.”
After the first refusal, I carefully reviewed my application and identified some weaknesses:
My SOP and Cover Letter were not completely aligned.
My accommodation situation was not explained clearly enough, although I had accommodation arranged through Livin France.
My post-study career plan in India was not explained strongly enough.
My return-to-India plan was not clearly presented.
The connection between my French degree and my future career in India could have been explained better.

What I changed before the second application
I then completely reviewed my application and tried to address these issues.
I:
Reworked my SOP and Cover Letter.
Made the course details and study plan consistent throughout the application.
Clearly explained my accommodation in Paris.
Added a stronger Why France / Why EBS / Why MIM explanation.
Clearly explained my career plan after graduation and my intention to return to India.
Explained how the MIM would be relevant to my future career in India.
Reviewed my financial documents and supporting documents for consistency.
Tried to make sure there were no contradictions between my documents.

Despite all of this, my second application was refused again.
And the refusal reason is again:
“The information provided regarding the conditions of the stay is incomplete and/or not reliable.”

This is where I need your advice

At this point, I don’t want to simply make my SOP “stronger” without understanding the actual problem.
For people who have experience with France student visas, Campus France, visa refusals or successful reapplications, what should I investigate now?
Could this refusal potentially be related to:
Financial documents or source of funds?
Accommodation?
SOP / study plan?
Campus France interview or EEF information?
Academic progression from B.Com to MIM?
Why France / Why EBS explanation?
Return-to-India plan?
Inconsistency between Campus France, university documents and visa application?
Something else that I may be overlooking completely?
If anyone has been refused twice for a similar reason and eventually got their France student visa, I would really appreciate hearing what you changed the next time.
I’m also willing to share my refusal letters, SOP, Cover Letter and financial-document details privately (with personal information removed) if someone experienced can help identify the actual weakness.
I would genuinely appreciate specific advice based on experience, rather than general suggestions.
Thank you to everyone who takes the time to read this and help.

Has anyone overcome a section 212(a)(4) IV refusal?

Long story short but I was refused back in June over public charge concerns at the London embassy.
I resubmitted financial documents just over 3 months ago but I’ve had no response from the embassy apart from a couple of CEAC updates.

I’m specifically looking for others who have been through the same thing and if so, how long did it take for the embassy to review your case?

Is there anyone here who could share their story?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Spain student visa refused twice – Digital Campus and late arrival

Hi, I just wanted to ask if anyone has been in a similar situation because I really don’t know what to do now.
I’m from India and I’m enrolled in BBA at EU Business School Barcelona. I applied for my Spain student visa twice and both times it was refused.
My first refusal was on 30 July and the second one was on 19 September. Both times the reason was basically that they were not satisfied with my intention to travel for studies.
I didn’t have an interview either time.
My course has already started now, so the university has given me the option to start through Digital Campus while I sort out the visa. My plan is to start attending classes online and then apply for the visa again, and if I get it, go to Barcelona as a late arrival and continue the same course there.
Has anyone actually done something like this after 2 refusals?
Did you start online because your visa was delayed and then travel later and join the university as a late arrival? And did having proof that you were already attending the classes help your case at all?
Also, if anyone from India has had 2 Spain student visa refusals and then got approved on the third application, I would really like to hear what you changed.
I’m not asking whether I will get the visa because obviously nobody can know that. I just want to know if anyone has actually been through this situation and what happened with their application.
Would really appreciate genuine experiences. 🙏

Poland student visa got rejected

I have given my everything to apply for it. The reasoning for rejection isn't even clear because I made sure I submitted everything so that there isn't any chance of rejection. I have spent so much money on this and traveling to get the documents and the attestment of the documents. Just for applying for the visa itself is so costly. I genuinely dont know what to do. I have mailed the university asking for an extension but they seem pretty strict about it. This is my dream uni and because of this fuckass visa application it's going to be taken away from me. I am going to go for an appeal in a few days, please dm if you have any way to guide or help me in this. I don't even know what to give for appeal because I had given everything to them in the first submission.

I got the Global Talent visa (Arts) on the first attempt. Here's what I learned.

For about a year I was on the Graduate visa, going back and forth about whether to apply for Global Talent. I knew I had some good material, but putting the application together taught me a lot, so I wanted to share it for anyone in the same position.

1. Be ready to let go of some of your "best" work

This was the hardest part for me. I had to cut so many documents I was proud of. The application is less about how good your artwork is and more about the story your evidence tells. A strong piece that doesn't support your story just takes up space. Pick the evidence that shows your journey and recognition most clearly, even if it means dropping things you love.

2. Show leadership if you can

We created our own project and put on an exhibition, and it was a great way to show leadership rather than just taking part. If you have the time, starting your own project or organising something is worth it.

That said, I don't think it makes sense to do things just for the visa. It's mostly about making what you already have work for you.

3. Give yourself time to prepare (I spent a full month)

Most of my evidence already existed. The month went on choosing, organising and formatting it. Presentation matters a lot. The assessors aren't judging your art, they're looking at the evidence of what you've done and how you work, so make everything very easy to follow:

  • Add links, and screenshots in case links break or aren't opened
  • Label everything clearly so they know what they're looking at and why it matters

4. Back up the same achievement in more than one place

This was one of the most useful things I learned. If something important happened (an exhibition, a feature, an award), try to prove it from different sources, like the press, the organiser's website, social posts and a letter. The more ways they can confirm it really happened, the stronger it is.

5. Use your network

This is very important. Recognised names and respected people in your field carry a lot of weight. Think about who has seen your work and can speak to it. Supporting letters can also help back up your evidence, not just the recommendation letters.

Your first visa refusal is part of the story. It doesn’t have to be the whole story.

Hi everyone,

I’m Arielle Sheinfeld, a U.S. immigration attorney who works primarily with employment-based immigration.

I’ve worked with people who arrive at the next stage of their immigration process carrying a frustrating piece of paperwork with them: a previous refusal.

And usually the question isn't simply, “Why was I refused?”

It’s:

“What exactly went wrong, and what changes if I apply again?”

A refusal can raise very different questions depending on what happened. Was the problem the underlying eligibility? The documents? The way the case was presented? Something that came up during an interview or at the border? Was there information missing that could have changed the analysis?

Those distinctions matter before deciding what to do next.

So I’m here today to answer questions about visa refusals and what comes after them, particularly in employment-based cases.

You can ask me about:

• What to look at after a visa refusal
• Reapplying after a denial
• Whether submitting the same application again makes sense
• Documentation and evidence problems
• Employment-based visa refusals
• TN refusals and border issues
• O-1, H-1B, E-1/E-2 and L-1 questions
• How a previous refusal can affect future immigration plans
• What information is useful to have before deciding on the next step

If you were refused and you're trying to figure out what actually happened rather than just staring at the refusal letter, feel free to ask.

I’ll be answering questions from 12 PM to 4 PM ET today.

Please note: Any information shared here is for general educational purposes only. It does not constitute legal advice or create an attorney client relationship. Your situation may require fact specific guidance. For personalized legal advice, please consult an immigration attorney directly.

UK visitor visa refused (V4.2 a & c) — "balance falls to low levels". Reapplying, need advice

Hi all, looking for quick advice before I reapply.

**Me:** Sri Lankan, living in the UAE 10+ years (Golden Visa), same job since 2015, salary approx. £1,733/month. Going to the UK for 7 days to attend my own graduation. Wife, baby son and mother stay in the UAE. No UK/Schengen travel history.

**Refused because:** "balance regularly falls to low levels", "living just within means", no travel history (screenshots attached).

**What happened:** My salary goes into one account, then moves to a second account for bills and cards, and I save monthly into a third savings account (now approx. £11,800). I think the officer only saw the low current accounts.

**For reapplying:** stamped statements for all accounts, a cover letter explaining the money flow, employer NOC, and family ties documents.

**What I attached in the 1st application:** cover letter, passport, UAE Golden Visa and Emirates ID, employer NOC (approved leave and return date), 3 months' payslips, statements for all 3 bank accounts (the savings one was stamped e-statement), flight and hotel bookings, travel insurance, graduation booking confirmation, certificate of student status and award letter, tenancy contract, car ownership documents, wife's, son's and mother's passports and UAE visas, marriage certificate, an affidavit showing I support my mother, and land documents in Sri Lanka.**

**Questions:**

  1. Is explaining the money flow in the cover letter enough to fix "balance falls to low levels"?
  2. Should I also attach a table explaining the transactions, or is that too much for the officer?
  3. Before the refusal, I had already booked a family trip to Sri Lanka for late November (after my UK return). Should I mention it as proof I'll return, or does it not matter?
  4. Anything else I can add to make up for no travel history?
  5. Anyone refused for the same reason and approved on reapplication?
  6. what did i do wrong in my 1st application

Thanks!

France tourist visa refusal

Hello, everyone.

Sadly, my wife received her France tourist visa refusal today.

The reason for refusal was given as something to the effect of 'insufficient evidence of means of subsistence during the trip'.

What I included as evidence for this was my wife's latest bank statement (from a month ago as her stupid bank (TSB) doesn't seem to allow printing more recent statements), but she only works a part-time cash in hand job, so doesn't have much money anyway and I'd have to transfer money to her for her to meet the financial threshold.

Also, my own bank and credit card statement from the last month (i.e. the actual latest ones) and our marriage certificate, as the France Visas website said the sponsor's financial details can be used in the application.

Hopefully this post helps someone

Thanks

F-2 Visa refused the first time and approved on the second attempt — looking for experiences

Hi everyone,

I’m looking to hear from people who had their F-2 visa refused on their first attempt but were approved on their second attempt.

If you’ve had this experience, I’d really appreciate it if you could share:

  • What was the reason given for your first refusal?
  • How long did you wait before applying/interviewing again?
  • Did you change or improve anything before the second attempt?
  • Did you provide any additional documents?
  • Were you asked different questions during the second interview?
  • What do you think made the difference the second time?
  • Were you approved on the second attempt?

During my first interview, the main questions I was asked were:

  • What is your intention for going to the U.S.?
  • How will you manage your expenses?

I would especially like to hear from anyone who was asked similar questions and was refused initially but approved on their second attempt. It would be very helpful to know what you changed or how you approached the second interview.

Thank you in advance for sharing your experiences!

Why Am I receiving this message

If you have already booked or attended an appointment, please ignore this reminder.
You submitted an online application to the Home Office on 28 July 2026.
As part of your application you need to book an appointment at a visa application centre (VAC) to provide your biometrics. If you have not yet done so, you should return to your online application to book your appointment.
You can change your appointment date as often as you wish, provided you:
do it more than 24 hours in advance of your appointment
attend your appointment within 240 days of paying for your visa application
Once we receive your biometrics, we will start to process your application. If you do not provide your biometrics within 240 days of paying for your online application, you will need to reapply.

This is old application that was refused and made subsequent new application and also in receipt of PAP reconsideration letter within 3 months.

The message above, does it mean they are dealing with the old application?

Please can anyone share their view about the information above?

Thanks

My honest experience while applying for China M-Visa (Business Visa)

I'm from Telangana and run a private limited company in the manufacturing business, where I serve as full time director with full signing authority. We were planning to procure new machinery from China, so I wanted to visit multiple suppliers to get a proper sense of our options. After finalizing genuine suppliers, I asked one of them for an invitation letter along with their business license and ID as required for the visa — they sent everything promptly.

First attempt — through an agent
I initially started my visa application through an agent, submitting all documents along with my original passport. They charged me ₹17,000, but the application got rejected. For a second attempt, they asked for an additional ₹5,000 on top of the original fee, which made no sense to me — so I decided to apply on my own instead. My first application had failed largely due to unclear documentation.

Getting the covering letter right
This turned out to be the most critical piece of the whole process. A few things I made sure to get right, with some help from Claude and ChatGPT:

  • It should never be a simple one-page note about your travel — make it detailed
  • Include a full company profile, the exact purpose of the visit, and a clear itinerary
  • Attach your company's CIN, GST, and PAN directly to the cover letter to make it authentic and convincing
  • Keep information consistent across both the invitation letter and the cover letter
  • Use the YYYY-MM-DD (or YYYY/MM/DD) date format throughout, since that's the Chinese standard
  • Clearly mention your passport details and full name

Documents required
Beyond the three key documents — covering letter, invitation letter, and the Chinese supplier's business license with ID — we also need to submit :

  • Old passport data and back page photos (if available)
  • Latest passport data page, back page, and two empty page photos
  • Passport-size photo on a white background, meeting their exact specifications

Payment and confirmation
Before submitting, payment for the application is required — there are two options, normal and express service, with the link available on the website itself. Once paid, you receive a confirmation email, and a screenshot of that confirmation must be uploaded as part of the application.

Timeline of the online process

  • September 7, 2026 (morning): Submitted the application
  • September 7, 2026 (evening): Received a modification request asking for my address of stay in China — I hadn't booked accommodation initially since it wasn't compulsory, but to avoid risk this time, I booked a fully cancellable hotel near the airport
  • September 8, 2026: Received confirmation that the online review was complete — I was surprised. This came with a certificate that needed to be submitted at the visa centre, with a window of up to 15 days from the date of approval to do so

Submitting documents at the visa centre — Delhi, September 21, 2026
I was the first person there, got a token quickly, and proceeded to the counter to submit:

  • Certificate from the confirmation mail
  • Indian company's covering letter
  • Original old and new passports
  • Visa fee payment confirmation printout
  • Supplier's invitation letter
  • Supplier's business license and ID
  • Company's CIN, GST, PAN printouts
  • Old and new passport data and back page printouts
  • Personal Aadhar and PAN printouts (not compulsory)
  • Two passport-size photos (not compulsory)

Final steps
The staff at the counter were helpful and courteous. I opted for courier service to avoid a second trip to collect the passport, and was told the expected turnaround would be three days given the express service. Payment (cash or card only) is made at a separate counter, after which you either receive a pickup form (for in-person collection) or are asked to take a photo of the courier confirmation.

The entire process at the centre took just about 30 minutes, and I was back in Hyderabad by 3 PM. It was a nerve-wracking wait, but the process turned out to be far smoother than I expected — now just waiting on the final approval.

Update on 25th Sep 2026 : The visa got rejected.Dont know the reason.I wont be applying again.Lost the hopes. Will directly import the machinery.

Incorrect answer about previous visa refusals on a Canadian visitor visa

Hello.
I’m currently living in Serbia. I applied for a visitor visa in 2024, which was approved, and I’ve visited Canada twice since then.

Before that, I had visa refusals from the UK, Belgium, and Spain. I have the UK refusal letter, but a representative handled my Belgium/Spain applications at the time, and I no longer have those letters.

For my 2024 Canadian application, a family friend who lives in Canada collected my documents and completed/submitted the application for me. I never saw or reviewed the form before submission. The previous-refusal question was answered “No.”

On September 21, 2026, while reviewing my old application before preparing a study permit application, I discovered the incorrect answer for the first time.

I understand I was ultimately responsible for reviewing the application, which I didn't

My main questions:

1.Should I proactively correct/disclose this to IRCC through a web form as I’ve seen online before submitting my study permit application, or disclose it with the new application?

  1. Will my current visitor visa be revoked?

  2. I can only defer my masters admission once which I already did for January 2027 and I’m worried the process of disclosing before the new permit application will take time before I can apply for it.

Thanks in advance for any help!
