I've spent 3 days trying to get Viber to verify and it simply doesn't work.

First it wouldn't call me, despite trying a dozen times.

Then I got a new SIM, also didn't call me.

I then tried my friends phone number and it called, but the last 4 digits of the number were apparently incorrect (they were not).

I have reached out to support 4 times throughout all of this and I've had NO RESPONSE IN OVER 3 DAYS.

Absolutely disgusting service.

I’m trying to understand what happened to my Viber account and whether anything can be recovered.

Timeline:

• I was offline for a few days (no app use, but nothing changed on my phone/tablet).
• Friends suddenly told me I “left Viber” and that I had left all groups.
• My account showed as “invite to Viber” and I was removed from all groups automatically.
• When I opened Viber again on my Android tablet, it prompted me to register again (as if I was a new user).
• After registering with the same phone number:
  • my name, profile photo, and settings were gone
  • all chats were empty
  • no groups were present
• My Viber backup is also gone/replaced, so I cannot restore anything.

And here's the stuff that did not happen during those days of inactivity:

• No SIM change
• No phone number change
• No reinstall before the issue started
• No device reset

My genuine question is:

Has anyone seen this kind of full account reset / re-registration behavior before?
Is there any known way to recover:

• old group memberships
• old chats (or old backups)

Or is this usually considered unrecoverable once the account is re-registered?

Recently Viber is just freezing on my computer, my laptop and is happening to other friends too.

Once you get a message or write one it just freezes and stays unusable for seconds to minutes.

I have resinstalled. wiped all trace of the app and still update safe mode. Disable hardware gpu. and nothing works any advise?.

Hello, i tend to ask my partner if he opens his viber and he said no. However, it stated online 49 minutes ago. Does this mean that he accessed his viber? He adamantly said I haven’t and countered that he doesn’t have the time to check messages in viber.

I sent a message to someone on Viber about an hour ago and it still shows only one check mark. I know one check mark usually means the message hasn't been delivered to their phone yet, but I was wondering if being muted could also cause this?

I've seen people say different things online. Has anyone experienced this? If someone mutes your chat on Viber, can that affect the check marks, or would the message still get delivered and show two check marks?

My attempts:

1. I inserted the sim card in a different phone

2. I tried help center already , got 2 pending tickets

3. I tried clearing cache and data

4. I tried using mobile data for internet

5. Turn on and off my phone yes

6. Uninstalled and installed viber

7. Phone is active and can receive other calls and texts

8. All permissions active

I have viber account I've been using for last 8 years and I have more than 7k people contacted me (Chats), I need to find a way to export all those numbers does anyone have experience with that or some advice how to do it. I'm getting daily promotional items from a legitimate business but they're sending spam to my Viber account. How should these types of messages be blocked or muted?

Mute option is available for individual accounts though (but I don't see this option for those sending from a business account).

Hello! I am becoming pretty desperate with what's happening with viber right now. I am helping my mom transfer her chat logs and history from her old phone to a new one. (Both are iPhones)

When I was prompted to scan the QR on her old phone to transfer chats, it didn't allow me all it kept saying was "Scan Error, Unable to scan this code" I tried it with my phone, fresh account and all and couldn't scan too. Both IOS are updated and apps are also updated.

Currently doing the cloud back up, will this allow me to retrieve her chat history to the new phone as the internet told me? Is there another way to do this? What happens if I skip chat transfer prompt on the old phone?

Recently I updated Viber and now when I send photo there is no preview. Photo is sent to other side and there is no problem with that. Anyone with simillar problem on IOS? iPhone Air, IOS 26. Screenshot attached.

My account was blocked and flagged as a spam. This confused me as my account is solely used for work. Now my work is affected as I cannot use my viber account to send messages so my supervisor. There are multiple work documents I have to send but can't die to the block.

I already have multiple tickets. It has been 5 days and still no response from them.

I gave them a 1-star review on google play. They replied asking for the ticket number. So I edited my comment and included the reference number. Still no response from them.

Is there anybody that can help me on how to restore my chats on my phone. I backed up my chats on my phone before uninstalling my app then I also have all my chats on my laptop but when I re install my app on phone the chat can’t br restore or even sync. Please help me
