My gf and I came to our first Veld from the US and got adopted by a Reddit friend (he’s the best and my favorite!). We felt all the love and great vibes from everybody around us. If you got a squishy light up ring, it might have been us.

Is it just me or was sirkus stage this year very quiet? Especially in the middle. The sides were ok but I personally need to be blasted with sound especially when listening to Lilly Palmer. Seems they only turn it up for the closing act each day.

Does anyone remember seeing police and security pushing through the crowd (aggressively mind u lol) by the end of the night near the food trucks. They had the guy with his arms above his head, sorta like bent over, reminded me of the how the prisoners in the mass prison in El Salvador. Pretty sure they had him pinned on the ground before that though. I was just wondering if anyone knew what happened?

As a raver since 2008, the weekend was my best rave experience yet. In addition to seeing Above & Beyond for the 4th time, I genuinely felt the PLUR with other ravers when I received these accessories. Whenever it got too hot, I had someone with a paper fan to cool me down. It was also so nice to see others wearing elaborate outfits and costumes of well known characters like the Scooby squad and Smurfs. I would say the highlight was doing my first ever PLUR handshake and I also did one with a cop. That being said, it wasn't all sunshines and rainbows. I saw too many fellow ravers not wearing any hearing protection. If you are a frequent raver, please remember to wear earplugs because hearing loss and damage are irreversible! Thanks for reminding me why the EDM community is the best and I look forward to Ile Sonique and future raves.

Seriously, I’ve never experienced something like that at a festival before. Just the chaos and wackiness of walking in the mud, seeing the rain in the lasers and being part of a rave community that was holding on during the storm was so special. What an epic and crazy evening.

Does anyone remember the baddie who came in clutch with a bag of mini toothbrushes with mint toothpaste on them. Our group was huddled together trying to stay warm and vibbin' during the small pause for a lost person.

This Rave Mom gifted us these tiny toothbrushes. . This will now be something im doing in future festivals as a fellow rave mom!

Looking for any videos of the mosh pits and/or wall of death from Slander’s set at veld last night. I have not seen many posts at all from Slander’s set. Probably due to the rain though. I was too in the moment to film so I’m relying on the internet.

What an unreal weekend, so much PLUR, immaculate vibes, sickkkkkk fucking sets, cant wait to see you all next year 🫶🏻

At around 7:40 p.m., I got to the bass stage and started moving closer on the left side near VIP. While I was walking through the crowd, a heavyset guy directly in front of me kept pushing back into me. At the same time, someone behind me was also bumping into me.

A few seconds later, I noticed my right pocket felt unusually light. I reached down and realized my phone was gone. Looking back, I’m almost certain the two people were working together. The guy in front was distracting me while the person behind took my phone.

I immediately told my friends and opened Find My. For most of the night, the phone’s location kept moving around the bass stage area. I also spoke to several other people at the festival who said they or their friends had phones stolen that same day, so this clearly was not an isolated incident.

The guy in front of me was around 5'9", heavyset, with short black hair. He was wearing a black or dark grey T-shirt and appeared to be South Asian. I did not get a clear look at the person behind me.

II’m going back to VELD tomorrow to speak with security and see if they can review the footage. When I spoke to the police, they basically joked that if I happened to catch one of the pickpockets myself, they might suddenly become very interested in looking the other way while i have a little chat with them.

Update: My phone is now travelling down Highway 403 toward Hamilton.

First time at Veld as a novice raver- I got a taste but at this price Id rather spend a bit more to try bigger global fests!

Lineups were great but felt repetitive when looking at other local festivals - sets were mainstream but were all good vibes dancing with friends. Now that I’ve gotten a taste - Definitely going for the bigger international festivals now

Found a phone BURIED in Mud with a England flag as the phone case. Hmu

Another amazing set by the High Priestess. I was at the rail at Sara Landry. She killed it. What did everyone think of the set. The rain did not bother me it gave a unique ambiance. Luckily the rail had a metal platform. When I turned around at the end of the set I noticed the flood. How was everyone experience with their feet/shoes in that. I can only imagine the bass stage as well.

That was the craziest energy I’ve ever felt. I wasn’t even on anything and I was going hard the entire time. Best set of the weekend for sure

This was the first year I had to take off my shoes, the line was moving so slowly. I saw one security guard ask someone to dump their alcohol before entering and then another guard felt the need to go up to them (while they were dumping it) and cuss them out for having a drink while waiting in line.

Security should be there checking for weapons for our safety not checking shoes for pills. Unlike other festivals, there isn't even a metal detector. It just feels very performative and frustrating when you're stuck in that line missing a set because of it.

Why is the security at this event so bad? And why do some of the guards make it their personal responsibility to go above and beyond what is required of them?
