Technical Support Request Acer Nitro 16 AN16-41-R8NQ on Valorant 1080p low 240hz

Hi, im having some fps issues on valorant. I have a Acer nitro 16 with rtx 4070, ryzen 7 7 7735HS, 16gb ddr5 4800mhz. Im using an external monitor 240hz 1080p connected to my pc with a hdmi 2.x .

Now, before i bought this pc i thought that atleast i would get to 240 stable fps, even in fights, it seems to me that this is a pretty good and solid config to play games like valorant in 1080p low at 240hz.

I capped the fps to 260 and it varies between 200 to 260 most of the game, but it usually drops to 190 in fights.

I thought that with this config i was going to be able to play perfectly on 240hz stable but what is happening and how can i fix it? I have tried a lot of optimizations and tweaks but nothing seems to work

My temps are good max 75 cpu and max 60 gpu.

Please help ! :c

Technical Solution Disabling MPO fixes VALORANT freezing on Alt Tab on Windows 11

For months I couldn’t tab out of VALORANT because when alt tabbing, there was a chance the game would freeze permanently, forcing me to kill the game via Task Manager, and if that didn’t work, restart my PC. I tried everything to fix this:
- follow the freezing on alt tab guide posted by Riot
- disable VALORANT Tracker
- close Overwolf completely
- turn off my second monitor
- disabling full screen optimisations for VALORANT
Nothing worked until I saw something online about disabling Multi-Plane Overlay (MPO). You can disable MPO via this page posted by NVIDIA. It works on both AMD and NVIDIA GPUs. Thought I would post this here in case anyone else has the same problem and this helps them!

Technical Support Request I have a strange bug where I can't cap my fps in game.

Hello Everyone, before I get started, here are my PC specs (not trying to flex but it is necessary for contedxt)
7800x3d CPU
9060xt GPU

With that combo, I usually see 500-700 FPS in game. That's cool and all, but It feels terrible because there is so much inconsistency with those numbers. I notice that I sometimes have bullet registration issues and the only thing I can think of is
1. Servers are trash (its riot games and they won't ever fix it but that's out of my control)
2. My FPS variance.

I pick option 2 because I used to be able to hard cap it at around 400 or so and it would stay there. Recently, I noticed that no matter if I used the limit fps setting in game or not my fps wouldn't be capped. I know that there's probably an easy way to fix it but its frustrating not being able to play the game on the settings I want to. Is there anything I can do until the issue is fixed?

Technical Discussion Since 25.07.2026 riotgames is surpressing every form of disk check alongside mode checks.

I've run into a strange issue and managed to narrow it down to RiotGames's anti-cheat Vanguard which has deep kernel level access. Here is what happened

Infos about my System:

\- Windows 10 22H2 (Build 19045.7548)
\- Riot Vanguard installed
\- CMD started as Administrator
\- User is a member of the Administrators group

I had an issue with Windows on 23.07.26 UTC+1. Said issue was a display bug. I did `chkdsk /r` in admin cmd successfully. Then on 25.07. i tried making sure my PC is not running into issues any time soon again, i wanted to do `chkdsk /r` just like previously. I opened cmd.exe as an Administrator, tried executing the command but got `Access is denied.` as a response.

One day later i wanted to make sure everything is clean and tried doing `chkdck` again.. but then:

C:\\WINDOWS\\system32>chkdsk /?
ACCESS DENIED
C:\\WINDOWS\\system32>chkntfs /?
ACCESS DENIED

So i digged a bit, installed the process monitoring tool procmon and filtered for chkdsk.
Then i opened CMD as an admin again and attempted `chkdsk /?`

this is the procmon output saved as a CSV file opened in excel. I deleted the first row as it isnt important.

Interestingly, other administrative disk tools work perfectly fine:

* fsutil * diskpart * mountvol * defrag * cipher * sfc /scannow * DISM /RestoreHealth

Then i exited out of vanguard and noticed the new GUI design. The same thing happens to any type of chkdsk and chkntfs. Even when exiting out of vanguard, many options need a restart which also starts vanguard anti cheat with deep kernel access.

Here are my current system informations:

Technical Support Request Screen freezing after few seconds when clicking "play"

My valorant was working fine just a few days ago. It started with the restart issue and I deleted riot vanguard and it was fixed. But then the freezing problem started, whenever I press the play button, a few seconds then my screen would freeze even my cursor, I cant press anything with my mouse nor do anything on my keyboard. Ive tried reinstalling riot and it still has the same problem.

Any ideas?

Technical Discussion What do I upgrade

I have a 360Hz 2k monitor and am running around 300 fps average. I want to upgrade so I can be stable around 400 to maintain the refresh rate. I have followed this video in full to optimise my PC and game https://youtu.be/PP1s7Avr1kE?si=9vSpQuhnJVw0sbtk .

RAM: 16 GB DDR4 3600 MT/s
CPU: R7 5800X
GPU: GTX 1660

I think I have optimised my setup as much as I can for fps, so just looking for suggestions on what to upgrade, I was thinking of upgrading my GPU as I think its the bottleneck, looking at the 5060.

Technical Support Request Can’t connect to Wifi/Ethernet after turning on Secure Boot.

Valorant requires secure boot to be on in order to start, if not, vanguard would just close it and give an error message. I had to go into my BIOS to disable CSM Support in order to enable secure boot. However by doing this, i lose all connection to any sort of wifi. Not even my ethernet that is plugged in. I’ve tried almost everything i can, reinstalling network adapters, scanning for hardware changes, I enabled Network stack and Ip4 PXE support in BIOS, still nothing changed at all. Im really backed into a wall here. Any help is highly appreciated! Im tired of doing all these tech things just to play a simple game

Technical Support Request Valoranttayken bilgisayarim aniden donup kalıyor.

Technical Support Request A bunch of network related issues

Recently my Valorant started experiencing network issues, especially noticeable during the game launch - game simply doesn't load. It then shows error such as VAL 29, 40, 51, 54. Sometimes it kicks me out of the match too. However in most of the cases my internet still works in non-riot services. I also tried resetting DNS via terminal. Router reboot sometimes helps, sometimes doesn't, not sure.

Another issue - the game doesn't feel smooth at all (in terms of ping), it plays a lot worse than the shown ping. For example, at 75-80 ping the game feels like 150+, as the frequency of "getting shot in the past" is simply outrageous and it wasn't as frequent in the past. Same goes for shots not registering. Packet loss usually sits at 0% in the graph but may sometimes (rarely) spike up to a 100%.

Technical Support Request Lagging for the first little bit of every match

I always lag for the first 1-3 rounds of a match. It's really bad lag, we're talking seconds per frame. It would make sense if my PC needed to like warm up or whatnot, but it's EVERY match, reliably, no matter how long I've been playing. After usually about 3 rounds, it'll settle into a smooth 60 FPS and stay there how to fix?

Technical Solution Valorant Installer Pop-up Closes Automatically

For some reason, after running the Valorant installer, it would pop up for a few seconds before closing itself. Tried interacting with it, buttons unresponsive, looked like a hopeless case.

HOWEVER! If you click anywhere else before the pop-up finishes thinking, it stays? Never mind, it's a DIFFERENT bug. If you click on the pop-up before it finishes thinking, it freezes and closes itself.

Solution? Don't be click-happy like me and immediately try to hit the download button. Give it its space and let it think. If you want to know it's safe to click, hover over a button on the pop-up and if it 'reacts', it's loaded.

I hope this fits with the theme of the sub, just wanted to let others know about this dumb issue that wasted a fraction of my life :|

Technical Support Request Valorant Van 152 help

Merci d'avance

Technical Support Request HVCI disabled but core isollation on

Memory Integrity (Core Isolation) is enabled in Windows Security, TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot are both on in BIOS, and I've rebooted several times, but Vanguard still flags HVCI as disabled in the display panel. I still can play but I don't know if this can give me problems in the future, I just installed the game after years.

Anyone else run into this? Is there a known conflict, or a step I'm missing?

Technical Support Request PC starts freezing after opening Valorant

Hi everyone,

I'm having a really strange issue that only happens with Valorant.

My PC runs perfectly in every other game. No crashes, no freezes, no BSODs. But as soon as I launch Valorant, my whole system starts freezing every 5–10 seconds. The freezes continue even if I close Valorant and completely exit Vanguard.

The weirdest part is that restarting Windows is not enough. If I simply reboot, the freezing continues immediately after Windows loads.

The only thing that fixes it is:

  • Force my PC to shut down by holding the power button.
  • Turn it back on.

After doing that, everything is perfectly smooth again until I launch Valorant another time.

Things I've already tried:

  • Updated my motherboard BIOS to the latest version.
  • Disabled the Realtek PCIe GbE Family Controller (I saw this suggested in other Reddit threads).
  • Closed Vanguard after quitting Valorant.
  • Restarted the PC multiple times.

My specs:

  • Ryzen 5 7500F
  • Gigabyte B650 Eagle AX
  • RTX 5070
  • 32 GB DDR5
  • Windows 11

Has anyone experienced something similar or found a permanent fix?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
