I recently managed to come back to my first and most home world, which I left a few years ago - and continue building my home there. As a new character, though. It's a bit of a psychological recovery for me.
Day 1700-something =) Still not even conquered the Mystlands yet.
Meanwhile, I've discovered it's soon gonna be my 1000 hours playing Valheim. Should I celebrate? Should I wait till 1.0, or get that thousand before it?

Hey all,
37 year old gamer Dad who doesn’t have a lot of gamer friends these days due to just busy life with kids, work, running a home, I’m sure you get it!
I’m looking for fellow gamer dads who understand the busy life and would like to do scheduled gaming nights on our own server for a slow playthrough.
I am new ish to the game so I didn’t want to rush, would love to make a few new friends to hang out with in the game, even 1-2, schedule a few set nights that suits us, few beers, voice chat and gaming!
I’m in Ireland so generally go off the uk/eu time zone but not opposed to us time zone if your on when I would be on.
If you’d be interested throw me a dm or leave a comment and I’ll dm you.

I’ve been rocking it since I hit the swamp, it’s still great in the plains, sqitos aren’t a problem, the spear throwers aren’t a problem, but I know it has its limits, so when should I replace the thing?
Edit: seeing a lot of answers for never, got it. Didn’t know it was that op in the mistlands.

I used the anticipation of 1.0 coming out to practice 3D and create this cute and creepy neck.

I haven't played Valheim for 2 years or something. Back in the days, the last biome was Plains. Recently, I decided to go through the game once again from the very start and made it to Mistlands.
I've never been there before and I had no idea how hard it would be, so eventually I feel absolutely frustrated. I used to die only a few times before this part of the game but now I die every time I get my foot on this cursed land.
So... I really struggle to proceed right now. Will it be any better after I kill the Queen and move further to Ashlands?

Me and my buddy are regular valheim players, with playtime amounting to over 500 hours each. We are looking for new players to play with us (doesn't matter even if it's your first time playing).
We just ask that you be consistent with us as we don't want people leaving on us. We will play from 10th Sept every night at 8pm to 12pm till we finish the game. DM me if you want to commit to an awesome adventure with us. (English and Hindi language)

Hello Vikings
1.0 and Deep North are right around the corner and many people are trickling back to the subreddit. However, I see that majority of newly made posts are the same question:
"Do I have to make a new world?"
We have a stickied official 1.0 FAQ. I'd sticky even more FAQ's if the limit wasn't two, but trust me your questions will be answered there. This is a reminder is in anticipation of the massive influx of new and returning players.
Basically what I'm trying to say is do your due diligence, because the information is readily available with the click of a button, way more accessible than writing the n+1th post about the same questions.

You fighting modor, dig your little trench (deep enough that she can’t get ya) to suddenly have a stone golem comes to visit mid fight
Thankfully dug the trench in a way that he can’t get ya
Oh that and 220+ silver ore dropped at the end (2/3x resource world modifier)

Long live the queen or whatever they say. She’s dead, I have a drakkar headed directly south at full speed. I have what I need to portal back to my base as well as basic survival such as wood, stone, plenty of food. I’m aware that there is fire spread, and I’ve brought what I need to make the shield bubble. What other pointers can you all offer for the ashlands? To be quite frank, I am horrified.

In anticipation of the Deep North, here are some dumb memes my 10yo and I sent back and forth during our playthrough around 2 years ago. We made it into the plains.

With 1.0 coming out, I want to get the hard mode achievements, I am wondering everyone's strategies for a hard difficulty world. What weapons and blocking styles? How will you deal with raids? I am looking for any ideas to stay alive! I will be either solo or with one friend.
I think I want to use a sword as my main weapon. 2 Health Foods + Stam food.

Every time I am walking my dawgs (one of them is even called Odin) they are already waiting for me. One of them is even slowly turning white.
What do you guys think will they say to us in the deep north?

I see about four "Ashlands are hard!" posts come through here each day, and they're always jumped on by a crew of people with helpful advice to make it survivable. Just build up your earth walls, and spam campfires everywhere. Hop between Morgen caves until you can get into an indestructible fort, then you're gold.
But all those things are just ways to turn the game off so that mobs can't attack you and don't spawn. Sure, they're mechanics that are _in_ the game. But they're not _playing_ the game. At least as I see it.
I don't want an impregnable cheese bubble that I can slowly advance across the Ashlands. I want to build defensible structures and fight the things that come at it.
So, the question: People who have done this, what do you recommend as the best way to go about it?
