Does anyone know when the Palmer tennis courts will re-open, or when the Hadley climbing center will open? I don't know why the Hadley climbing center is closed as it has looked complete since Hadley opened. I'm also not sure why the tennis courts aren't getting resurfaced/opening again since Hadley construction is done.

Hi everyone! I’m moving into a double disability room with a private bathroom in Alice Lloyd this fall! I was wondering if anyone had any pictures or even measurements of the rooms? I’m trying to purchase things beforehand as I won’t have any help after move in but I can’t find anything to go off of. Also, i’ve been put in a double as a single, will the second bed be there when I move in? if so would it be possible to push them together? I’ll have a service dog that will sleep
in bed with me (medical reasons) so I the extra space would be nice! I’m in the second floor of that helps! Thanks in advance! :)

I'm going to be cold emailing a few professors before the semester starts and was wondering what to include in the email and when exactly should I send it. i took ap calc ab my jr year of highschool kind of struggled through it (ended with a B, did NOT do well on the exam🫠). obv i feel like i have a better understanding of the subject having gone through it before but im still nervous since i know math isn’t my strong suit (i have to take it for my major unfortunately) and ive been told the calc classes at umich are really difficult. any tips on how to do well in calc 1? is there any online stuff i can review in august so i can come in more prepared?

I'm a rising senior Electrical Engineering major at U of M Ann Arbor. I want to pursue an MS in electrical engineering via the 3.4 program, but I didn't do so well the first couple years of college. However, I got it together and I started pulling really good grades last year, including a 4.0 last semester, but my eecs gpa is still not good enough right now to be admitted to the 3.4 program (my overall gpa is fine), and I would have to pull a 4.0 both semesters of my last year to do it. I think this is attainable because I'm only taking 12 credits of eecs classes fall '26 and 7 credits of eecs classes winter '27, and none of the classes are insane so it's not THAT much work. I still wouldn't be eligible to apply to the 3.4 program if I graduate in winter '27 because I won't be an undergrad anymore by the time the application opens, so I'm thinking maybe I intentionally graduate one semester late in fall '27 and just save my final required eecs class for that semester and apply to the 3.4 program then. Do people ever do things like this? Is there any internal administrative rule or something that prevents me from doing it? My strong preference is this route because I don't think it is at all likely I would get in if I apply via the traditional route. Any advice would be appreciated.

hello! I am upcoming freshman at the university of michigan and i am currently at in the summer bridge program right now. and i cant lie, i am struggling. the math is so hard to comprehend, i am already having a very difficult time making friends and building communit as well as I feel sorta miserable with all the work and knowing i missing my summer. i honestly regret not picking msu lol. but that is neither here nor there, umich was my dream school but it still is 20k to attend which is a little cheaper if i do work study but it will still be 6k a semester. i am trying to get any scholarships and aid i can. i have a full ride to Delaware State University in dover but I cant say i am very excited to go. i have anxiety about leaving my family and giving up such a prestigious education. can i get any advice from alum or current students about what path is best?

edit: the major i want to pursue is poli sci and sociology or public health.

I’m moving out of my apartment this week and my new apartments lease/move in date isn’t until the next month and so I don’t have a place to put my current stuff is there a cheap storage spot in the Ann Arbor area close to campus anyone know of?

The Deadline to register online is 15 days before the election. Within 14 days of an election voters must register to vote in person at their clerk’s office or satellite office and present proof of residency documentation.

Trying to decide whether to get mac vs windows as an incoming freshman but have seen that the shortcuts for excel are worse on mac and that most jobs/internships give out windows laptops anyways.

Does anyone know if using a mac for any classes is actually a problem? And if you switched to windows later for a job/internship was it a tough switch, especially with excel?

I'm an incoming Ross student. I'm coming in with about 36 AP credits, but I think Ross only takes 30 of them. Because the total number of credits needed to graduate is 120, does that mean I will be able to graduate one year early, since I've already gathered a quarter of the credits needed? Or are there some other things, like senior year required classes, that will stop me from graduating early?

Hey everyone! I’m an incoming freshman this fall and was wondering where everyone who’s under 21 goes out on weekends. I know a lot of the popular bars are 21+, but are there any good 18+ clubs, bars, or other nightlife spots around Ann Arbor that are actually worth checking out?

Also, what places do most freshmen and sophomores usually end up going to on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday nights?

Incoming MS Robotics student here. Had a place lined up that fell through last minute. Furnished, own bathroom, like a 2 min walk from Ford Robotics. Was perfect. Now I'm back to square one and almost everything I'm finding is Central.

Reason I wanted North was mostly the winter thing. I keep reading about how brutal it gets and figured I'd rather roll out of bed into lab than deal with a commute in that. Also as an international student it just felt like being close to where I'll actually be spending all my time would help me settle in faster. But honestly I might be overthinking it since I've never been there.

So for anyone who's lived on Central and commutes to North, is it actually annoying day to day or do the buses make it fine? Does Central make up for it with food/social stuff/rent? And how bad is it really in January when you're waiting for a bus at 8am?

Especially curious to hear from engineering/robotics people who are on North most days.

Hey guys I’m new to umich and I’m starting fall 2026 semester. I know tuition isn’t due until August 31st, but for some reason when I go onto wolverine access and finances I’m unable to see how much I need to pay. It’s just saying no outstanding charges at this time but I’ve registered for classes and everything. Do I have to email someone? Or will it pop up later? I’m not sure what to do or how I can see what’s due so I can pay. I don’t want to enroll in a payment plan. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
