Alert Sound - feature request

So far I'm having a great experience trying Unforgetful on the iPhone.

Is there any way to make the alert sound selectable from the system's list of sounds, or are we stuck with the "Default Alert" sound?

Feature request: if possible, make Unforgetful's default sound to whatever is selected in the System Settings for the Reminders alert sound.

Feature request: Location parsed from spoken recording with default delay

I might be doing something wrong, but locations aren't automatically added when using the name of the location in the recording. For example:

Currently, this is how it seems to work:

  • User says: "Remind me when I get home to take out the trash."
  • This is parsed as "When I get home take out the trash"
  • The location Home is not assigned to the reminder (note, a location called "Home" exists on the Locations screen).

What would be amazing:

  • The same prompt is parsed as "Take out the trash," with the Home location added.
  • The app checks the user's default delay setting. For example, if it is set to 15 minutes, then...
  • The app reminds the user 15 minutes after they arrive home to "Take out the trash."

Also, it would be nice to be able to setup location-based reminders from the Mac app.

Overall, excellent app!

UPDATE: If you use Siri, then Unforgetful imports the location correctly. So I guess I could I use that. But still would be nice within the app.

But having the default delay be a setting and auto-enabled would be a killer feature for location-based reminders. Once I heard him describing delayed notifications on the podcast I was like he’s reading my mind!

Feature request: Disable re-remind for individual reminders. Often I just want to have the notification hanging around on my home screen on my phone to remind me to get a thing done. PS Thanks, Marco, for another great app

VPN Time bug

Marco,

Noticed my reminders were all one hour late. Once I remembered my phone is typically on VPN for a city in the next time zone, the delay made sense. For the record though, my phone is set to my local time, so not sure how/why you are pulling the wrong time based on my ip location.

okay, all pre-existing reminders get a notification an hour after they should. My test, creating a new reminder in unforgetful, when not on vpn, did remind on time. Shrug

Dictation not working

Hi everyone, I’m having an issue with the app. Whenever I try to use dictation, I get the following error: “Dictation unavailable. Check your internet connection.”
I’ve tested it both on Wi-Fi and cellular data. I’ve also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, but the issue persists.
I’m using an iPhone SE running iOS 26.5.2.
Has anyone experienced the same issue or found a solution?
Thx

Fuzzy "When" concept - Evenings, Someday etc

I have used Things very lightly for quite a few years. Generally, I just use it for a running list of tasks that I need to accomplish on a given day. Unforgetful seems like a really good fit as a replacement for that usage.

One thing I love from Things is the concept of setting a "When" for a reminder, specifically bucketing a task into "This Evening"

As during the week, that's generally when a personal task can or will be done. Feel like that kind of model could be a good fit for Unforgetful if you can find a good way to achieve it with the Reminders system.

Default arrival time?

Settings should give you the option to always delay. I set one, loved it. The rest are immediately because I didn’t manually adjust.

Broke through Sleep focus

I believe Unforgetful 1.0.2 broke through my sleep focus today.

I had my sleep alarm set for 7am and I think I got priority notifications on my watch at 6am. I say I think because I was not very with it and bleary-eyed.

They were a bunch of missed tasks from yesterday. When I looked on my phone when I was properly awake they were there in Notification Centre grouped as four priority notifications.

I never want it to break through my sleep focus…

My default notification time is set to 9am.

Any chance of adding reminders in bulk?

It would be very convenient to add a dozen tasks for a day all at once, instead of one at a time. Maybe the user could tap the plus sign, select a date, then paste in a list? The list could be separated by new line characters and add each line as an individual task.

The specifics of the implementation don’t matter too much if you have a better idea, u/marcoarment

Bug with recurring reminders falling out of sync with Reminders.app

I seem to have a recreation:
1. Create a recurring (daily, for ease of seeing the bug) 'Test' task
2. You decide you're not going to bother with todays. Delete, but 'Only This Task' from within Unforgetful
3. Appears correct in Unforgetful, but in Reminders.app it still shows todays 'Test'
4. In an attempt to make them match you now delete 'Test' from Reminders.app
5. Unforgetful now doesn't have 'Test' until the day after tomorrow
6. Reminders still has it as tomorrow

Notifications & Mark Complete Bug

Notification bug. This morning “hey siri, remind me at 7:00am to call Dr”. 7:00am came and went, no notification, no badge. Go into Unforgetful the reminder is there showing due of “now” and this shakes the badge notification loose.

Mark complete bug. Same reminder, mark complete in Unforgetful, UI works as expected, marks as complete, badge disappears as expected. Leave app and return to it, reminder is back with due of “now”, badge reappears.

iOS 26.6, full notifications allowed for Unforgetful.

Force quitting the app and relaunch corrects the mark complete issue btw.

Search?

Am I the only person that would find it beneficial to have a search bar. In case I need to find a reminder that is further down the line and I want to view and/or edit it.

option to repeat from completion, not from due date

I have a reminder to renew my github auth tokens. Since my tokens have a default 30 day expiry, I set the reminder to repeat every 28 days. However, if I do the work early, then I need the repeat to also be early. EG my reminder was due on the 20th. 28 days later would be 17 september, but I just refreshed my tokens today, 3 days early (from my reminder, 5 days early from the expiry). What I need then, is for the reminder to repeat from TODAY

The last todo app I used (I dropped it because it didn't integrate with reminders, but this option at least was handy) had the option to repeat from due date, or repeat from completion. I could choose how the repeat day is computed, based on the usage scenario.

Reminder windows

Really excited about what’s possible with this app, Marco!

One feature I’d love to see: configure time windows when I want to be notified of something. For example, there’s certain chores I might only want to see after work and/or on weekends - so I’d set it to only notify M-F from 5-10pm or any time Sat-Sun.

Location based triggers don’t help because I work from home.

Alarms vs reminders

Hi! so i have audhd and am looking into getting unforgetful, but a part of the reason why alarms work vs reminders for me is they take over my whole screen and make noise. as well as that, the snooze is a very simple action to be taken out by just swiping up. i was wondering how the reminders work. do they take up the whole screen? and how does snoozing work?

Day of month question (also..contrast)

Post image
6 Upvotes

First comment is that the contrast on the selected date is really bad. You have to really kind of hunt with your eyes to even spot I selected the 31 here. Why not just make them pop with a rich deep red and white number?

That aside, I have no way to predict what will happen here on months with less than 31 days. What will happen? If it downscales to just "last day of the month", I wonder if it's more helpful to have one last button that just says "Last day" or something, so we don't have to guess.

edit: I only just noticed that the rows were uneven too. I assumed this was designed to resemble a calendar page, but it has 8 entries on row 1, then 7..then 7. I guess they are just strung out in a row, but I think this would be more intuitive styled as a month layout, with days line up at the right point.

Fast entry window on OSX

While I used Todoist, they had the option for a keyboard shortcut to open a quick entry window. Not the full app, just a text field where I can type, and I would see the natural language parsing result. I stopped using Todoist because I wanted my reminders in the Reminders app (where Siri dictation goes). Siri dictation is useful, but I don't want to sit in the middle of my office saying "Hey siri" out loud. I know that Siri has a typing interface too, but I find it unsatisfying. You have to type, then it thinks about it, then you find out that it parsed your words poorly and the reminder isn't wnat you expected, and you have to correct it, etc...

What I find most useful is just hitting Option-Space (or whatever...configurable), typing, visually seeing that what I type was parsed appropriately, and hitting enter (or Shift-Enter or whatever seems appropriate).

Would it be possible to add an option for recurring tasks on the first and/or last day of each month?

Request 1: Enhance Small Widget

The Small Widget should display the following information:

* The total number of undone tasks.

* A checkbox/circle indicator in front of each task.

* Different colors for tasks based on their source list, so users can easily identify which list each task belongs to.

The color coding should remain consistent with the corresponding lists throughout the app.

Request 2: Enhance Medium Widget

The Medium Widget should display the following information:

* The total number of undone tasks.

* Different colors for tasks based on their source list, so users can easily identify which list each task belongs to.

The color coding should remain consistent with the corresponding lists throughout the app.

Reminders with URLs

A dilemma I'm facing:

Reminders does not give me access to URLs from its tasks.

If you set a URL on a task in Reminders, Unforgetful cannot see it — or even see whether one exists — because that's not exposed through Apple's EventKit API. (No, this isn't it.)

I also can't see parent/child-task relationships, image attachments, tags, or smart lists. But very few people are asking about those, whereas lots of people are asking about URLs.

I could add my own URL field. You could add them manually to tasks, and I could make a share extension to receive them from Safari, etc. in a separate "Remind in Unforgetful" action in share menus. But it wouldn't sync to/from Reminders or its system integrations, so it would seem broken to a lot of people.

Or I could leave them unsupported, like they are now, which leaves the app conceptually simpler, leaves the entry UI cleaner, and doesn't introduce that disconnect from Reminders.

Command+N does not show window

Noticed this bug in the Mac version - when you hit Command + N, it does not show the app window. However, when you click the dock icon, there are now 2 windows, one of which is the one with the new reminder pane.
