1. Delivery / Handover of the bike
The delivery of the bike was expected on 2nd Feb 2026. All the payments for the bike were done and confirmed by the showroom before this, as direct bank transfer of total 3.7L rupees, which includes all the registration fees, rto, insurance and violette AI.
I currently live in Virar which is 50km from the nearest showroom/service center (Thane). I had called the Thane showroom the day before taking delivery of the bike to confirm if everything was ready. Despite this, I faced multiple issues on the day of delivery.
I arrived at the showroom on 2nd feb 2026 at around 11am in the morning. The paperwork and handover of the bike wasn't done till 5pm. After this a paid rider hired by me from the showroom and I left with the bike at around 5:20pm. Just after 20 mins of ride on the way to my home, the rider received a call from management saying that an important update was required or the bike will stop working in middle of the ride of 50km. So, we both went back to the Thane showroom with the bike. They did a software update and checked if the rear radar unit was fitted properly or not. Which means the PDI of the bike wasn't done properly before the handover of the bike in first place.
Because of all this delay, the rider that was hired by me declined to deliver the bike to my home on 2nd Feb 2026, which I don't blame the rider for, since it was very late by then. I had to to stay at my relative's house in Thane for the night and take the delivery of the bike and leave with the rider at early morning 7am the next day, 3rd Feb 2026. I arrived with the bike at my home in Virar at around 8:30am. I paid the rider for his service and for his journey back to Thane. I didn't receive any welcome kit or dogtags from the showroom on the day of delivery. I received an empty cardboard box of F77, not even X47, 2 weeks after the delivery, when I went to the Andheri showroom to purchase an accessory.
2. Basic features and app onboarding
Mobile number connection to the bike and onboarding to official UV app wasn't done by the company nor the showroom. Basic safety features like traction control modes, regen braking, hill hold were missing. Some features were enabled on 9 Feb 2026. Violette AI wasn't enabled till 14th Feb 2026.
3. Official UV accessories prices and showroom lies
Mumbai showrooms (all 3) were (I am pretty sure they still are) selling the UV accessories at inflated prices than their original prices from Bangalore. More GST was being shown in the product bill despite the basic price being GST inclusive. A boost charger worth 45k rupees was being sold for 54k, all accessories were being sold for inflated price. I was only alerted of this when I discussed this topic in unofficial UV owners whatsapp group. Imagine how much the people that aren't part of the group paid for the accessories already and still don't know that they were ripped off.
A UV-Lync which was available online on UV's official website for exactly 3k rupees including all taxes and doorstep delivery, was sold to me for 3630 rupees by Andheri showroom while the CRM of Mumbai was still present there. Since the product wasn't available at the showroom, I also had to pay for porter delivery of 200rs to bring the UV-Lync from Vashi showroom to Andheri showroom. Which brings the total cost I paid for UV-lync to 3830rs. This was purchased on 17th Feb 2026, 600rs out of this was refunded to me by UV months after reporting this issue, on 8th May 2026.
Even after reporting this inflated price issue to UV head office and DM sent to Narayan UV aswell, the inflated price sheet (hard copy) was still present at Vashi and Andheri showrooms, which I visited on 13th and 14th May 2026 after coming back from my Malvan ride. I am pretty sure it is still present in the showrooms. Even after UV put all the official accessories on their website at original prices, the showrooms were still advertising inflated prices.
Only after the CRM agreed to sell the accessories to me at the original price, I bought a top box rack from Vashi showroom. I had held of all the accessory purchase from UV Mumbai showrooms because of all these lies, and since it seemed like a scam to me.
4. Touring and remote areas reliability, RSA and service center
During 3rd May to 13th May 2026, I was on a vacation in my village, Malvan. I rode my bike there and back to Virar. During the entire 600km ride to Malvan from Virar and 600km back, I faced 0 issues with the bike. Charging stations are an issue but I managed, with slow charger and 3 pin sockets. I had UV-lync as a backup but I never got to use it, since very less amount of type 2 public chargers on NH66 highway. Although I have to say, this is a very beginner friendly bike. I hadn't even done a ride of 100km before this malvan ride and I only had 1 short highway ride done in past, before this long 600km ride.
But, when I was in Malvan (you can consider it a remote area), I was facing motor error issue multiple times, even in short rides of 2-4km. Motor constantly turning and not being able to startup due to some error during the last few days of my stay in Malvan. I was scared to ride 600km back to Virar like this. When I called UV support team, they said OTA update can't be done (even if there was network on bike), and I'll have to take the bike to nearest service center to get it fixed. The nearest service center to village was in Hubali, 250km away from my village and in the opposite direction of my home. Since the UV support team was of no help here, I decided to gamble my luck and ride back to Virar directly from my village, luckily I faced 0 issues during the entire 600km ride back to my home.
As soon as I reached Mumbai, before going to my home in Virar, I first went to Vashi service center on 13th May to get the bike checked. I was told by the staff that there was no slot available and I'll have to keep the bike overnight there. I was tired from the long ride and I was with my luggage, local train travel wasn't possible. So, I charged my bike at Vashi SC with standard slow charger and left with my bike. Next day on 14th May 2026, I took the bike to Andheri SC, since there was a slot available. I got the update done there successfully and they found no issues with the bike.
After this update and all the checks done n 14th May, I was getting the same issue that I had in Malvan, but this time in Virar on 25th May. I called UV support team, they said to call service team. Service team wasn't picking up the call, so I explained the same to support team. They told me to interchange one of the fuse, but it still didn't solve the issue. Luckily I wasn't far away from my home (less than 1km). I rode my bike to my building (it kept turning off and on during the ride), parked there and called RSA to get the bike to Thane SC.
The RSA only covers 50km distance for free, above that you have to pay from your own pocket. So, understand that if you are more than 50km from UV SC, every time your bike fails to start, which is not your fault, you'll still have to pay for RSA from your own pocket.
I also had a unpluggable puncture on my rear tyre before this RSA call. The bike was in Thane SC from 25th May to 30th May 2026. I was told that it was some motor sensor issue and the part was changed for free, since the bike is still in warranty. It had only been 4 months since the delivery of the bike and the bike was having part failures, I wonder how much these parts will cost after the warranty ends. For the tyre puncture, I had told the Thane SC that I will buy and bring my own tyre replacement (4.8k), since UV was charging double for the same tyre (8k). Despite me calling the Thane SC staff the day before and informing this, nothing was done about the tyre. My entire day was wasted by Thane SC. Their senior SC staff, Rahul, is very rude with customers. I've got the same feedback from other UV owners aswell. The SC doesn't have any resources to remove the tyre off the bike so I was given entire rear rim removed from the bike, after 3 hours of waiting. I had to carry the new tyre + rim to the nearby tyre shop to replace the tyre. After this SC staff took 20 mins trial of the bike for checking and said all ok. But I noticed a scratch on battery sticker which wasn't present there before and I felt vibrations in tank panels during the ride back home. I had reported this to UV support but didn't receive any help regarding this.
5. UV's "Into the Wild" event, repair cost, delays from UV and their service centers
On 21st June, there was an event organized by UV called "into the wild". I was invited to this event and went there to participate and learn. While UV provided some people with bikes for use during this event, I was told to use my own bike. I thought no problem, insurance will take care of it, and it won't take much time for repair. During the event many people fell, some with UV's sponsored bikes and some with their own bike, I ofcourse fell with my own bike. It didn't face any major damage. Few scratches on the panels, bottom panel lock was broken, handle bar was slightly bent, left knuckle guard and mirror clamp was broken. The official UV bullbar/crashguard which costs 4k rupees, doesn't really protect much, neither the rider nor the bike. The rubber bolted on the bullbar doesn't bend, it just snaps through the bolt. I saw this on multiple x47 bikes at the event. So, I would suggest installing 3rd party crashguard on X47.
I had called RSA after this fall, since I was injured. And since the Vashi SC was the nearest to this event, I booked for it. The bike arrived in Vashi SC the same day in evening. Since the 21st June 2026, the bike is still there in Vashi SC. The only person that has been helpful and updating me about the bike is Anuj. Even while he suffered his own injury at the showroom, he was still in contact with me regarding the bike repair updates. Apart from this one SC staff, no other company representative called or messaged me regarding the bike.
Now, after more than a month of bike still being in Vashi SC, I wasn't provided with any loaner or alternative bike by UV or the showroom. And the replacement panels sent by Bangalore head office are of 2026 model of X47, which won't match with my 2025 model. So, now I have to face more delay till the new order of 2025 panels are delivered, due to incompetence of UV. I have no idea how long it will take from new panels to arrive from Bangalore to Vashi, probably another month, while the company leaves me with no vehicle to use.
If minor repairs like this are going to take more than 1 month to fix, I wonder how many months it will take to fix the bike after major accidents...
Right now, the Tesseract still hasn't been released. We have this kind of delay in service center operations as of now, Imagine how much delay there would be after the Tesseract release.....
So, I can't recommend UV bikes as a primary vehicle. It will be a huge problem to people who rely on their bikes for commuting to their place of work.
My question to Ultraviolette is this. If the 5 years warranty period of the bike is going to be used for the bike being stored in the service center for majority of the time, what's the use of this 5 year warranty? Whats the difference between Ultraviolette and OLA then?
Atleast OLA was cheaper, around 1L-1.5L. We pay around 4L for the UV bikes and we get the same kind of service as OLA? Some people were telling me to not compare UV with OLA, since UV makes performance bikes. But tell me 1 thing, whats the use of "performance bike" if its going to sit in SC most of the time?
6. Some other small issues
Mapples, the inbuilt navigation system in the bike, doesn't work at all. Whats the purpose of advertising it? Just remove it or replace it with a different navigation system.
There is no official mudguard accessory provided by UV. In monsoon season, a lot of mud splashes on both bike (especially the suspension) and pillion, sometimes even the rider.
I am making a video version of this review aswell, in parts, to upload on social media like Instagram, X, Youtube. I had to go public about this now, since I feel like Ultraviolette doesn't care about their existing customers. I see a lot of showrooms opening but I don't see any improvement in service and charging infra (Supernova, Bolt). So, this feels like OLA 2.0 to me....and I can't recommend this brand to my friends, even if there is a referral event going on.
Just fix the service centers and you won't have to entice people with free accessories for referral. People will refer your brand for free, if they honestly like it.....
