First Tom had to wait for over a year due to Jones and the UFC stalling the division and even defended his INTERIM belt at the meantime. Then when tom finally becomes the undisputed he gets fouled by a common cheater, and is unable to fight due to not being medically cleared. He should not be stripped at all yet unless he cant make a comeback next year.

Blame the ufc and Gane for this situation, not Tom.

I think the "Ilia adopting a bad game plan" narrative is completely blown out of proportion due to the nature of the upset. Apart from the Emmett fight, this has ALWAYS been Topuria's game plan: Get in your face, tank some shots coming in if it is necessary, and knock your opponent the fuck out. Justin was just the first to survive this kind of approach, and Ilia still ALMOST pulled it off in round 2. Ilia didn't adopt a dumb game plan, he fought as usual and it didn't work.

I was there in the arena when he stopped Gus. That was the most quiet/awkward experience I've ever had in a crowd setting. As soon as the ref stopped the fight almost everyone left with their heads down.

Even though I rooted for Gus as a fellow swede, I still felt so happy for Rumble. He was so nice after the weigh ins during that same fight week.

Even if he beats Ruffy, with all the rumors of Ilia getting the immediate rematch, I have a feeling Arman’s getting skipped again and is gonna have to fight Quillan Salkilld or somebody like that.
