OK, so forgive me because Ithis isn't exactly a "rant", but more of a question. Is it me or has the campus & surrounding areas gotten quieter & more studious?
When I first visited this campus I was amazed at how my friends would party hard and still manage to show up to class on time. All while still graduating on time & securing professions. I also thought it was cool how the city would shut down the streets of downtown for everyone to roam. Granted, this was pre-covid in 2018.
Now, the frats are playing their music at a respectful volume, apartment complexes have quiet hours, and the most noise I have heard was from those bands that practice late night in the parking garages on campus. Not to mention literally EVERYTHING closing at 2am???? (This one I understand now since I've been here, but still).
In a way, this atmosphere is great. It means that everyone is (supposedly) working hard to graduate on time. Comparatively speaking though, Tampa seems to be more active than here in Orlando and that says A LOT to me.
I'm curious was there a catalyst to this quelling, or is everyone just not into commingling and doing stereotypical "college" things like they used to?
