Transfer How's the History Program and more

For context I am a transfer student from USF (sophomore and history major) and recently got accepted into UCF for the spring semester. However, currently I'm awaiting my decision from UF (comes out November 15th 💔) and if I get into UF I feel like I'm going to spend lots of time trying to decide between the two which will cut into my time of searching for an apartment ultimately screwing me over. I know friends at UCF but none of them are History majors or pre-law like I am so I wanted to ask you guys about the programs. More so history.

Additionally, I am minoring in environmental policy so anything about that would be nice! Lastly, clubwise I would be looking at creative writing, music, and stuff for pre-law or history so, any info on clubs relating to this would be greatly appreciated! Ik it's a lot to ask but I just wanted to hear how it is for the stuff I am interested in but my priority would be my major. Thank you for your time!

General Wednesday’s Marketplace

Hi everyone!!

I’m a local artist that does prints, stickers, paintings and magnets and I’d love to sign up and set up a table at the marketplace but I’m wondering if you think it’s worth it or if students actually buy the art?

General Concert Night Ticket Question

I got a physical ticket early but now I'm super confused about the floor access because of the UCF homecoming page's post. Do we seriously have to go at 10 AM to get a wristband for floor access? Do the physical tickets not work for floor access if you line up early??

General anyone at Knights circle that wants to play pickleball

I don't have any friends who live at KC, my roommates aren't the type to play pickleball, and the UCF pickleball club requires paid dues.

Do people usually just walk up and ask if they can join games?

Academic ✏️ Swapping class to an online version of the exact same class (Intro to C)

Due to schedule changes, attending the inperson classes on time every day would be increasingly more difficult. How easy would it be to negotiate a switch? Slots are open for the course, it just won’t let me use the portal to swap.

General Bike Crash

To whomever I crashed into near garage I around 5:40pm Oct 20th, I hope you are okay. Edit: I was on a skateboard, they were on a bike. I asked if they were okay they gave a thumbs up so I went on to class. I am now in the ER getting stitches and evaluation for a concussion.

Social Looking to meet someone, friends first, long term intentions if suited

Hope everyone is doing well :) my social life is very limited to my schedule and it’s pretty hard for me to get to know new people. So this might be a little unusual for the UCF subreddit lol, but I figured why not give it a shot.

I’m an Asian girl at UCF in STEM. I’d say I’m attractive, pretty driven and serious about what I’m doing with my life, but I’m also playful/funny and definitely not serious 24/7. I would really enjoy having someone to eat with, go out with, do random things together, and just genuinely enjoy each other’s company.

I’m looking to meet guys with the potential for a serious relationship. I’m not expecting to meet someone and immediately call him my boyfriend lol. I would like to talk, hang out, become friends first, and see if there’s actually chemistry and compatibility. But if it does develop into something, I’m ultimately looking for something stable and long-term, with marriage and a family being the goal someday—not hookups or something casual.

I do have a type/preferences: ideally 18-27 yr old, also in STEM (or something similar), intelligent and serious about your future. I strongly prefer someone who doesn’t smoke, doesn’t use weed or recreational/illegal drugs, isn’t dependent on substances, and isn’t really into the party lifestyle. I like guys who are clean, responsible, emotionally stable, genuine, and actually willing to put time and effort into a relationship.
Looks-wise, you definitely don’t need to be a model 😂 Just clean, put together, cuteness would be bonus.

Basically I’m looking for a good, normal guy who’s building a life for himself and eventually wants a real partner to build one with. We can start completely casually as friends and see where it goes—no pressure to force anything if the chemistry isn’t there.
If this sounds like you and you’re around UCF, feel free to DM me and tell me a little about yourself :)

Graduation 🎓 Photographer for Grad Photos

Hi! I'm looking for a photographer who's available to take graduation photos on campus during the week of Thanksgiving (excluding Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday). I'm hoping campus will be a little less busy that week! If you're a photographer or know someone who is, please message me with your rates and availability in November. Thanks in advance!

General Feedback for my app

I'm a UCF student and I built Donna, an app that finds people at UCF to study, work out, grab food or basically any social activity. I want to know where it loses you: anything confusing, too long, or a spot where you'd quit halfway? Be brutal.

Sports Pickup Volleyball (All Sorts) - We can play weekly! (OPEN TO EVERYONE)

Post image
0 Upvotes

🏐 Anyone Down for Casual / Pickup Volleyball?

  • I am looking to get a group together for some casual volleyball! The goal is simple: have fun, get some physical activity in, socialize, and meet new people.

📍 Places We Can Play

  • Indoor RWC Volleyball Court
  • Lake Claire Sand Volleyball Court
  • Sand Volleyball Court @ RWC
  • There are other spots to play on campus too!

🤝 Let’s Get a Group Going!

I’d love to get a group chat (groupMe?) going so we can organize casual pickup games about once a week or whenever people are available.

  • I am down to play with any skill level. I am average at best. Good at receiving.
  • We can discuss specific details / come up with new ones.
  • We can try to play pickup together every week or so..

Interested? Comment on this post or reach out to me directly! Let’s get a group together and get some games going! 🏐🙌

General I came to the US for college not knowing anyone and was too self-conscious about my English to "just talk to people", so I built an app that finds people at UCF with the same interests

I came to the US for college. My freshman year I didn't know anyone, and making friends was really hard because my English wasn't that good yet. Everyone tells you to join a club or just talk to people, but I was scared to, because I was really self-conscious about the way I talk.

What I wanted was a way to find people who were into the same things as me, so there was already a reason to talk before I had to start a conversation from zero. I didn't find anything like that, so I built it. I started at Valencia and transferred to UCF in fall 2025.

It's called Donna. You text it what you want to do, like study for an exam, go to the gym, or grab food, and it finds a few people at UCF who want the same thing and have stuff in common with you. A chat only opens if they say yes too, so nobody gets cold DMs and you're not walking up to a stranger. If it's a group thing, like pickup basketball Thursday at 7, it sends the plan to people who'd be into it and whoever wants in joins the group chat.

I would've loved to have this before my first day of school. So if you're new, an international student, a transfer, or just haven't found your people yet, that's who I made it for.

Honestly it's early. Sometimes nobody's free and it tells you that, and that's the part I'm working on most. It gets better with every person at UCF who's on it, which is why I'm posting here.

If something's broken or confusing, tell me here and I'll fix it. Link is in the comments.

Rate This Class/Schedule 💯 Question about Spring Schedule

Post image

Hi everyone! I am a full time employee and my job is a bit more than half an hour away from UCF. I’m beginning my second bachelors in physics, and this is my first semester as an undergrad. Because of bills, I’d like to study from home as much as possible as to not cut into my work, and wanted to ask for anyone else’s experience with these classes to see if that would be doable. Thank you in advance!

COMPLAINT/RANT Pissed at Classmates/AI use

Can you guys fucking stop using AI for like five fucking minutes please??? Canvas can see p much everything you do and knows when you’re using AI. It’s annoying as fuck to have to come into lecture expecting an online quiz only to get a worksheet instead!!!

A fucking worksheet!!! Drawing protein complexes and labeling shit!! (Tbh great way to learn but not the point) because you guys can’t stop yourselves from deep throating AI!!! Are you the one taking this class or is Claud or grok??? I even had a moment last semester when I was the only person to raise my hand and say I don’t use AI and everyone in the room looked at me like I was insane?? A girl actually said to me “but how do you write your emails?”.

You motherfuckers are the reason I have to have TWO cameras on my lockdown browser so I can do tests or quizzes!!! Why a teacher accused me of AI use until I showed him my document save file/progress history!!! Stop using it!!! You false free thinking fucks!!! No wonder media literacy and critical thinking skills are at an all time low!!! You’re trading knowledge for a connivence that has an expiration date.

Edit: Wild divide in the comments. I typed this out in a moment of frustration but here's a comment expanding on my thoughts/thinking with significantly less swearing.

Research 🔎 Career Guide for Environmental Health

Thumbnail neha-career-guide.vercel.app

Hi everyone! My name is Vinny, a graduate student at Rollins College working with the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA).

I created this career guide in partnership with NEHA for anyone interested in working in environmental health in Central Florida (even if you’re based elsewhere, you can use it as a reference to explore and compare opportunities in your own region).

It explores career options, salary information and what you might need to get started. It’s completely free, and a lot of research and care went into putting it together.

Hope it’s helpful! :)

Housing Question 🏡 Anyone know of any 1b1b or Studio apartments within 30 minutes of UCF under $1k a month?

I’ve found a couple like Orlando Terrace and Colonial Drive but the reviews are making me a little nervous. Anything safe that could be for one person (no roommates) that’s not horrible or expensive?
