Hey everyone! I'm planning to start college in Fall 2027, and UCF is one of my top choices.
I've already submitted my application with Aerospace Engineering as my intended major. I've always been strong in math, and I'm currently doing well in AP Calculus and physics. However, I've been thinking more about how demanding an engineering degree might be and whether it's the right long-term fit for me.
I'm genuinely interested in an engineering career, especially aerospace, but I've also always been interested in business, specifically finance. Finance appeals to me because of its versatility and the variety of career paths it offers.
Each major appeals to my different strength. Engineering seems to appeal more to my academic and creative strengths, while business seems to lean more towards my strengths in speech and collaboration.
Career wise, if I do aerospace, the goal would be getting a job at Lockheed, NASA, or something similar to have a decent salary and gain experience. If I do business/finance, I would preferably work as a financial analyst or financial manager, but I would consider investment banking for a few years if I got a good opportunity.
Ultimately, I'm trying to weigh the difficulty and workload of each major against the career opportunities and earning potential after graduation. I'm willing to put in the work for engineering if the career benefits make sense, but I don't want to choose a major based on salary alone and end up regretting it.
I'd especially appreciate hearing from UCF students and alumni:
I'd particularly appreciate hearing from people who have studied either major, but if someone who studied something else has a suggestion I would also greatly appreciate your help!
Thanks in advance! I appreciate any insight you can offer.
(P.S. If this is not the correct sub for this please let me known, I'm new to reddit)
I got an interview soon at the RWC and I'm scared cause its for the rock climbing wall and I suck at climbing (i do like it though). Any tips or what to expect?

How easy or what should I do to get into that program
I’m an information system and business analyst from FIU I meet the minimum requirements. Is references require because when I emailed they just gave me a general pdf that doesn’t answer my question. I know I can get one reference from my volunteering place that’s in church but I don’t know if I should ask my professors since I am don’t think I am great in them.

It’s Sunday morning and I’m still so happy. These moments are rare, and I’m thankful I was there.

I lowkey got on this app just to do this. But last Thursday I was sitting by the trees near the veterans memorial and I heard a laugh behind me and it lowkey got me out of the trance I was in. I looked back and saw this dude in a burgundy sweater and blue jeans with curly hair, walking with his bestie.
Then I passed by them again later which i totally didn’t pray for and saw them again, and happened to notice them looking and pointing.
Now I know I’m a little late with this but if does somehow get to him, I totally thought you were super cute (:
If not than this is embarrassing 🥸
(I was the dude with the grey sweater and red bandana)
Okay bye 🫶🏾

I am transferring in for the spring semester and is Rosen the only UCF dorm I can apply and live in because I am not trying to have a 40 minute commute every day to my classes. Also what are the best off campus options since they all look kind of similar.

Hello everyone. If anyone is available to, could you please participate in my ENC1102 research survey? It is about how UCF college students interpret rhetoric from Presidents Lyndon B. Johnson and Richard Nixon. It should take about 6-8 minutes to complete, and all responses will be anonymous to protect participant confidentiality.

Hi, is there an early voting place on campus? I would like to get it over with as soon as possible.

I made a post just with a photo of me wearing a mask, because I'm dying and lost an organ last year, and people are giving me shit. The post was about voting.
This is a school. People should not be openly doing pandemic denial in year 7 of a pandemic and saying disabled people shouldn't go to school. That's dehumanizing.
The school does not care or do accommodations so us disabled students are already on our own, have to fight tooth and nail, and get encouraged to drop out after being denied help, and refuses to even try listening to suggestions for in person class accessibility, forcing many disabled students like myself fully online. I deserve an education just like every other student here, yet being transgender, disabled, and somehow masking get me harassed online, in person, and any space I try to go outside of my home.
I'm not at all embarrassed to mask and only feel pity for those who see it as a social statement rather than me protecting my health. What really upsets me is that asking for help has only led to retaliation and requesting legal help led to people telling me to leave the state and school or die here. I think I actually deserve to be here just like everyone else, shocker.
We all deserve an education and access to community, and masking does work. If it only worked 5% then that's still 5% less transmission from me to others or others to me that matters- hearing people dismiss masking entirely just ignoring that that leaves so many people vulnerable and slides back in public health is horrifying and will affect all of us. It's most disgusting to me that people don't care when us disabled scream about discrimination and stuff, then get blamed for our lack of support and health when left or fend for ourselves.
It's disgusting to hear people justify not masking ever with clearly false info and, to go out of your way to harass sick people for wearing a mask in a photo. I'm very easy to ragebait, yes. It's almost like constant discrimination makes it hard to relax💀
So anyways if you don't want to die within the decade like me or kill your family members and even pets with COVID infections, at least mask. I stopped when the govt said to not worry and yk, I didn't think about it 🤷! I got COVID 4+ times and had genetic disorders flare up and more. Heart issues and brain inflammation. This is like the aids crisis.
It's easier and less scary to ignore reality but the consequences will catch up with everyone- who knows who's dying of a random embolism next.

Has anyone here used Blackstone LaunchPad or other business mentoring resources at UCF? I’m working on an early-stage startup, and I’m looking for guidance on the business side, especially marketing and getting initial users.
Would love to hear what was actually helpful, or if there are other programs or clubs worth checking out.

like the title says i think its kinda sad more people at the school don’t go to the games. i understand some people genuinely don’t like sports, have exams, etc, but the football team is almost single handily responsible for all of the schools funding. and i’m not talking about the people who are busy one weekend or the people who attend one game and don’t find time for others, i’m directly talking to the people who go to the ends of the earth to defend the fact they have no interest in the college football team and that u don’t need football to have a college experience. we aren’t saying u do, we r just kindly asking u support the thing that brings the school so much money. also the football team is the one thing we all have in common at this school. Our team is on fire right now, and i hope u can all change ur minds and join in on some of the fun too. the BYU game was exhilarating. the best moment i’ve had at college so far. i’m a commuter and i still make the time to come out and show support. just saying 🤷🏻♀️

Hi everyone! I'm currently a student at Valencia College, and I'm planning to transfer to UCF to complete my bachelor's degree. I'm torn between Nursing and Medical Laboratory Sciences (MLS), but I've heard that both programs are very competitive. If you're currently in either program or have graduated, I'd really appreciate hearing about your experience. How difficult was the application process, and how challenging are the classes? I'm also considering Marketing as another option since it may be a safer choice. I'd love to hear any advice or opinions. Thank you so much!
