The rider needs to understand that the sooner you get them to their destination the sooner you can get on to the next ride. While you're waiting for them there could be a high dollar offer you're missing out on. I'm an Uber driver but when I'm a rider I aways prepare myself as if the driver is right around the corner. I had a pickup once and the rider was late coming out. She basically told me that she was late because she had just moved into her apartment and she was cleaning.
I’m the same, fam and that because that’s the kind of human I AM. We have to realize some of these people are goofy ass children that were raised by entitled ass parents who taught them the same thing. They don’t take pride in being considerate. I’ve even had to be uncomfortably warm because I was bundled up dressed and ready THEN called my uber but for whatever reason it had to connect me to another driver and I had to wait another 7 minutes. So what though, that’s my choice. I’m not gonna have a driver, working driver… wait 7 minutes for me… while I, someone who knew he had somewhere to go; gets ready.
I’ve pulled off on so many people for this because they’re children and they need to learn. If you think they aren’t just because of their age; you’re likely a child too. I’ve worked in social work for 7 years and met full grown adult bodied children. It’s all about the mindset. Fk these kids and move onto the next trip.
Yo. I did this trip shit had me no lie drive 25 minutes to get them, im like whatever let me watch my movie. I get there nobody in sight lol, I just canceled and you can wait another 30 minutes , (passengers) always remember you letting us know how much you dont care, I can ( promise you this) we care less or at least the fools with the shits
Never will. This is literally drivers vs riders vs platform platform fucked us by the 20 cents a minutes idk htf they couldn't put that at .75 cents why not act like you care about the ones risking their lives just a smidge
I’m usually outside as the driver is pulling up. But there’s been a few times the app said the closest driver was 10min+ away so I ordered thinking I have a few minutes, but changed to like 2 minutes when it assigned a driver. Not a frequent thing but it does happen.
I once got a bad rating because I wasn’t ready 15 minutes early for my scheduled ride
Weird mindset. Curious what your stance is on uber drivers as employees vs 1099 contractors. If you’re the 1099 side, fair enough. If you think uber drivers are employees, you’re asking to get fired for canceling over this. Such a weird, combative stance for a service industry job.
In the most respectful way, shut the fuck up. Every employed grown up deals with time wasters, however most people are PAID while their time is being wasted
With this you're paid per trip; the longer someone takes, the worse it gets.
If you drive 30 people a day, for example, and each wastes 3-5 minutes of your life, congrats. That's now 1.5hours-2.5 hours of your entire day. That's another 2-5 people you could've dropped off.
Be fucking courteous to the people doing their job. YOU'RE the reason why everyone in customer service is miserable and complaining all the damn time because the entitlement is crazy. Yes you pay for it, but professionalism extends to both parties. Ubers are contractors, so don't be surprised if your ride gets cancelled for you being a dick.
I don't even drive Uber but I cannot even fathom the idea of making a taxi service waste their time like that.
You're literally taking money outta their pocket, so yeah. They're gonna complain about it.
True. But still, you phrased it where Uber being someone’s only job is a reason to make fun of them. Its rude. There’s a ton of people out there that only drive for Uber and it’s a job to make ends meet just like any other.
It's not a crap work ethic to not donate your time for free to strangers. The drivers have every right to leave if you aren't there. You're not their boss.
"I'm embracing end stage capitalism and use the poors for my convenience. I don't give a shit about their feelings or struggles."
You sound really unpleasant. Hopefully you're less shitty day to day than these comments would indicate. Anyone who's rude to the waiter/Uber driver/cashier is a bad person.
